Book Fluid dynamical Model for Heavy ion Reactions in Three Dimensions

Download or read book Fluid dynamical Model for Heavy ion Reactions in Three Dimensions written by and published by . This book was released on 1977 with total page pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: A short overview is given of work done in the area of general fluid dynamical models of heavy-ion collisions. Two approaches are discussed: solution of the relativistic Euler equations without full treatment of binding effects, and solution of the nonrelativistic Navier--Stokes equations with correct treatment of binding. The feasibility of three-dimensional fluid-dynamical calculations of sufficient accuracy is demonstrated. 8 figures. (RWR).

Book Particle Production in Highly Excited Matter

Download or read book Particle Production in Highly Excited Matter written by Hans H. Gutbrod and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2012-12-06 with total page 680 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Seven years after the first experiments in the new field of Nuclear Physics, the Highly Relativistic Heavy Ion Physics, the Nato-Advanced- Study-Institute on the 'Particle Production in Highly Excited Matter' was held from July 12 till July 24, 1992, at Il Ciocco, Castelvecchio Pascoli, near Lucca in Italy. The school took place at a mo ment when intensive efforts are mounted by the scientific community of Relativistic Heavy Ion Physics to meet the extraordinary challenge of the new upcoming physics opportunities. The gold beams of 10 GeV A at Brookhaven AGS have been sent to the experiments this Summer and we extent our congratulations to the persons and teams who made this possible. The Relativistic Heavy Ion Collider (RHIC) at Brookhaven is under construction and expected to allow experiments to see collisions in the intersec tion regions early 1998. The lead beams at the SPS at CERN scheduled for summer 1994 are eagerly awaited by 6 large experiments, and many scientists are planning the experiments at the planned LHC with heavy ions to be turned on before the year 2000. Seen against this background of rather fierce activity, we were most delighted when NATO accepted our application for an Advanced Study Institute oriented to the main subject of this young and dynamic field of research. We are very grateful to the Scientific Affairs Division of NATO and Dr. L. DaCunha, the director of the Advanced Study Institute program for giving our community this opportunity.

Download or read book Introduction to Relativistic Heavy Ion Collisions written by L. P. Csernai and published by . This book was released on 1994-05-10 with total page 336 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Introduction to Relativistic Heavy Ion Collisions László P. Csernai University of Bergen, Norway Written for postgraduates and advanced undergraduates in physics, this clear and concise work covers a wide range of subjects from intermediate to ultra-relativistic energies, thus providing an introductory overview of heavy ion physics. The reader is introduced to essential principles in heavy ion physics through a variety of questions, with answers, of varying difficulty. This timely text is based on a series of well received lectures given by Professor L. Csernai at the University of Minnesota, and the University of Bergen, where the author is based.

Book Relativistic Heavy Ion Physics In 2 Volumes

Download or read book Relativistic Heavy Ion Physics In 2 Volumes written by Laszlo P Csernai and published by World Scientific. This book was released on 1991-04-22 with total page 749 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book gives an overview of relativistic heavy ion physics with particular emphasis on those theoretical approaches which seek an understanding and explanation of the measurements. These approaches try to build a bridge between more basic theories, such as lattice QCD or nucleon-nucleon interactions, and complicated experimental observables involving a large number of particles. Thus, mainly theoretical approaches are discussed here which are strongly and directly related to experiments, and in turn they are phenomenological to some extent. These models use the available information from more complete reaction model describing the whole collision and the observables. It is suitable as a text for advanced undergraduate and graduate students - both experimentalists and theorists - for studies in the field of relativistic heavy ion physics. It may also serve as a handbook where basic concepts of reaction models can be found and the most important references for further reading are provided.

Book Theoretical Approaches of Heavy Ion Reaction Mechanisms

Download or read book Theoretical Approaches of Heavy Ion Reaction Mechanisms written by M. Martinot and published by Elsevier. This book was released on 2016-06-03 with total page 443 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Theoretical Approaches of Heavy Ion Reaction Mechanisms provides information pertinent to heavy ion reactions and nuclear fission at low energies. This book discusses the features of the time-dependent solution of the Kramer–Chandrasekhar equation. Organized into 27 chapters, this book begins with an overview of the deexcitation process of a highly excited nucleus by means of its decay into two fragments. This text then presents a microscopic description to extract the characteristics features of the collective dynamics of the fission process at low energy. Other chapters consider nuclear fission as a transport process over the fission barrier. This book discusses as well the microscopic foundations of the phenomenological collective models. The final chapter deals with the composition of the baryons and mesons in terms of gluons and quarks. This book is a valuable resource for nuclear and high energy physicists. Experimentalists, theoreticians, and research workers will also find this book useful.
