Book Cracking Deflection and Ultimate Strength of Partiallly Stressed Concrete Beams

Download or read book Cracking Deflection and Ultimate Strength of Partiallly Stressed Concrete Beams written by Murad Jaafar and published by . This book was released on 1983 with total page 144 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Te primary objective of this experimental investigation was to study flexural cracking behaviour and deflection of partially prestressed post tensioned beams. Fourteen T beams with various combinations of prestressed steel wires adn non prestressed steel bars were tested to failure. Each beam was simply supported on a simple span of 2.74m and was subjected to two symmetrical point loads. The number of prestressed steel wires and the non prestressed deformed bars was selected as being the main controlling parameter ofthis experimental investigation. The deflection, strain distribution and crack width of concrete beams were recorded at different loading stages. The experimental results form tests were compared with theoretical analysis and other empirical formulate as proposed by some researchers. It was observed that the crack initiation and propagation in partially prestressed beams with unbonded tendons depended on many factoes. The results agreed well with the findings os some researchers but were not in close agreement with other workers possibly because the beams were subjected to different conditions particularly due to unbonded tendons.

Book Partial Prestressing From Theory to Practice

Download or read book Partial Prestressing From Theory to Practice written by M.Z. Cohn and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2012-12-06 with total page 416 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: These volumes contain the edited documents presented at the NATO-Sponsored Advanced Research Workshop (ARW) on Partial Pre8tre88ing, from Theory to Practice, held at the CEBTP Research Centre of Saint-Remy-Ies-Chevreuse, France, June 18-22, 1984. The workshop was a direct extension of the International Symposium on Nonlinearity and Continuity in Pre8tre88ed Concrete, organized by the editor at the University of Waterloo, Waterloo, Canada, July 4-6, 1983. The organization of the NATO-ARW on Partial Prestressing was prompted by the need to explain and reduce the wide dirrerences of expert oph:iipn· on the subject, which make more difficult the accep tance of partial prestressing by the profession at large. Specifically, the workshop attempted to: - produce a more unified picture of partial presetressing, by con fronting and, where possible, reconciling some conflicting American and European views on this subject; - bring theoretical advances on partial prestressing within the grasp of engineering practice; - provide the required background for developing some guidelines on the use of partial prestressing, in agreement with existing structural concrete standards. The five themes selected for the workshop agenda were: (1) Problems of Partially Prestressed Concrete (PPC). (2) Partially Prestressed Concrete Members: Static Loading. (3) PPC Members: Repeated and Dynamic Loadings. (4) Continuity in Partially Prestressed Concrete. (5) Practice of Partial Prestressing.

Book Design of Prestressed Concrete

Download or read book Design of Prestressed Concrete written by Arthur H. Nilson and published by John Wiley & Sons. This book was released on 1978 with total page 550 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This revision of a popular text discusses the behavior, analysis, and design of prestressed concrete structures. Changes in the Second Edition include a new emphasis on partially prestressed concrete members, flexural strength calculations, deflection calculations, crack width calculations, along with new information on high strength materials, and more. Develops an understanding of design methods used in practice and familiarity with the important provisions of the governing 1983 Building Code of the American Concrete Institute. Balance of theory and practice provides a clear survey of design principles. Problems at the end of every chapter illustrate concepts. Copyright © Libri GmbH. All rights reserved.

Book Design of Prestressed Concrete to AS3600 2009

Download or read book Design of Prestressed Concrete to AS3600 2009 written by Raymond Ian Gilbert and published by CRC Press. This book was released on 2016-02-17 with total page 710 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The design of structures in general, and prestressed concrete structures in particular, requires considerably more information than is contained in building codes. A sound understanding of structural behaviour at all stages of loading is essential. This textbook presents a detailed description and explanation of the behaviour of prestressed concret
