Book excerpt: Receiving the Lord's Healing is simple: you just need to open to Him, cleanse life's issues and ask for His healing This book outlines a Method of Healing Personal Hurt entitled "The Five Fold Cycle." It is simple and can be used to aid in the healing of memories, healing of emotions, healing of self-image, and healing of relationships. It is a method of fine-tuning healing prayer to better utilize the Lord's pruning and cleansing. Scripture describes the Lord's pruning & cleansing in this manner: "I am the true vine, and my Father is the vinegrower. He removes every branch in me that bears no fruit. Every branch that bears fruit he prunes to make it bear more fruit." (John 15: 1-2) Our task is to take each area of our life, (body, mind, soul & spirit), to the Lord, and bring it under His Light and Lordship (His rule). Each is a mini-conversion experience - dying to self, renewing the old. How simple are the wonders of the Lord's Healing in our life....

Book Self Awareness and Meditation

Download or read book Self Awareness and Meditation written by Charles Attfield and published by John Hunt Publishing. This book was released on 2023-07-28 with total page 307 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: 'Charles Attfield has done the hard work of presenting Eastern Meditation wisdom in a form easily understood by the West, in the tradition of his teacher and founder of Synchronicity Foundation, Master Charles Cannon.' Jim Clarke, Senior staff member at Synchronicity Foundation We are all on a journey, a journey from illusion to truth. Self-Awareness and Meditation: An Advanced Guide for Meditators looks at both the evolution of consciousness along this journey, and meditation as an integral part of it. A point comes when there is an awakening to the possibility that there is more than the consensus reality, which we have been part of for eons. We know that there is something more - and so our search begins. Eventually, with meditation, our focus moves within as we search for the Self - our true nature - which, until now, has been hidden in illusion, waiting for our awakening and eventual, joyful return. Self-Awareness and Meditation focuses on the return journey back to the Self. True meditation is a state of awareness which comes naturally as we increasingly align with our soul. We realise that we are not the doer, and then comes a different perspective about allowing our false reality to fall away, and we discover that consciousness, not the ego, has been running the show all the time.

Book Old Muslim Calendars of Southeast Asia

Download or read book Old Muslim Calendars of Southeast Asia written by Ian Proudfoot and published by BRILL. This book was released on 2018-12-24 with total page 147 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: It has been said that "a modern arrogance has blocked our access to the history of the Muslim calendar in Southeast Asia". Without at least the outlines of that history, we simply do not understand the basis of dates found in Malay sources. Also, without a history of Malay calendars we are denied an understanding of the context from which the Javanese Muslim calendar arose. This volume, the result of combining empirical evidence with a sound understanding of the structural requirements of calendar-making, and of the mechanisms through which these needs could be met, for the first time explains how these old octaval calendars actually worked. It traces the history of Muslim calendars in Southeast Asia, and attempts to put them into their historical and cultural context. Understanding the old calendars will at last throw light on a number of essential aspects of older Malay science and culture. An accompanying interactive CD-ROM presents the reader with a tool for converting Malay and Javanese dates, with access to the range of variant calendars.

Book Towards a Unified Fatigue Life Prediction Method for Marine Structures

Download or read book Towards a Unified Fatigue Life Prediction Method for Marine Structures written by Weicheng Cui and published by Springer. This book was released on 2014-11-04 with total page 289 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In order to apply the damage tolerance design philosophy to design marine structures, accurate prediction of fatigue crack growth under service conditions is required. Now, more and more people have realized that only a fatigue life prediction method based on fatigue crack propagation (FCP) theory has the potential to explain various fatigue phenomena observed. In this book, the issues leading towards the development of a unified fatigue life prediction (UFLP) method based on FCP theory are addressed. Based on the philosophy of the UFLP method, the current inconsistency between fatigue design and inspection of marine structures could be resolved. This book presents the state-of-the-art and recent advances, including those by the authors, in fatigue studies. It is designed to lead the future directions and to provide a useful tool in many practical applications. It is intended to address to engineers, naval architects, research staff, professionals and graduates engaged in fatigue prevention design and survey of marine structures, in fatigue studies of materials and structures, in experimental laboratory research, in planning the repair and maintenance of existing structures, and in rule development. The book is also an effective educational aid in naval architecture, marine, civil and mechanical engineering. Prof. Weicheng Cui is the Dean of Hadal Science and Technology Research Center of Shanghai Ocean University, China. Dr. Xiaoping Huang is an associate professor of School of Naval Architecture, Ocean and Civil Engineering of Shanghai Jiao Tong University, China. Book The Siva Purana Part 1

    Book Details:
  • Author : J. L. Shastri
  • Publisher : Motilal Banarsidass
  • Release : 2000-01-01
  • ISBN : 8120838688
  • Pages : 473 pages

Download or read book The Siva Purana Part 1 written by J. L. Shastri and published by Motilal Banarsidass. This book was released on 2000-01-01 with total page 473 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The Purana is a class of literature that treats of ancient religion, philosophy, history, sociology, politics and other subjects. It is an encyclopaedia of various branches of knowledge and ancient wisdom. It has been defined as a class of literature that contains material on the topics of Creation, Dis-solution of Manus, Ages of Manus, Genealogies and the History of glorious kings. For dealing primarily with these subjects it has been called Pancalaksana-a title that was incorporated in the Puranas themselves and had become popular by the Fifth Century A.D., for it was included by Amarasimha in his lexicon 'Amarakosa'. But as the process of interpolation continued, the Pancalaksana definition was found inadequate. The Puranic redactors adopted a Dasalaksana definition that suited the contemporary text. Still, the dynamic forces were at work and the process of insertion, modification and abridgement went on and it was soon discovered that the Dasa-laksana definition too fell short of an actual fact. It was found that the Puranas contained certain aspects that were not covered by any five or ten characteristics. The Puranas are divided into two classes-the Maha-puranas and the Upapuranas. Each class consists of eighteen Puranas. Thus the number of the Puranas is thirty-six. Mahapuranas are classified into different categories-Vaisnava, Brahma, Saiva etc. Sivapurana has all the characteristics of a Mahapurana. According to the ancients, a Mahapurana contained five main characteristics that concerned either early religion or traditional history. Sivapurana possesses the conventional characteristics of a Mahapurana in common with its other colleagues. These entitle it to the status of a great Purana. But its real greatness lies in expounding the philosophical background of the Siva ritual. The Purana conceives Siva as the eternal principle, the supreme god, the cosmic soul, the support of all existence. But the ignorant aspirant bound in the meshes of illusion goes in quest for knowledge and imagines that his lord has a personal form possessed of attributes distinct from his self, who in moments of distress responds to his prayers and bestows grace.
