Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle.

Download or read book Problemas de fisicoqu mica written by Ira N. Levine and published by . This book was released on 2005 with total page 444 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle.

Book Mathematical Chemistry and Chemoinformatics

Download or read book Mathematical Chemistry and Chemoinformatics written by Adalbert Kerber and published by Walter de Gruyter. This book was released on 2013-12-12 with total page 521 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: More than 20 years of experience in molecular structure generation, from conceptualization through to applications Innovative, interdisciplinary text demonstrating example queries with software packages such as MOLGEN-online Detailed explanations on establishing QSPRs and QSARs as well as structure elucidation using mass spectrometry and structure generation. Aims and Scope This work provides an introduction to mathematical modeling of molecules and the resulting applications (structure generation, structure elucidation, QSAR/QSPR etc.). Most chemists have experimented with some software that represents molecules in an electronic form, and such models and applications are of increasing interest in diverse and growing fields such as drug discovery, environmental science and metabolomics. Furthermore, structure generation remains the only way to systematically create molecules that are not (yet) present in a database. This book starts with the mathematical theory behind representing molecules, explaining chemical concepts in mathematical terms and providing exercises that can be completed online. The later chapters cover applications of the theory, with detailed explanations on QSPR and QSAR investigations and finally structure elucidation combining mass spectrometry and structure generation. This book is aimed in particular at the users of structure generation methods and corresponding techniques, but also for those interested in teaching and learning mathematical chemistry, and for software designers in chemoinformatics.

Book Organic Chemistry

Download or read book Organic Chemistry written by L. G. Wade and published by Pearson Educacion. This book was released on 2013 with total page 1258 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Acclaimed for its clarity and precision, Wade's Organic Chemistry maintains scientific rigor while engaging students at all levels. Wade presents a logical, systematic approach to understanding the principles of organic reactivity and the mechanisms of organic reactions. This approach helps students develop the problem-solving strategies and the scientific intuition they will apply throughout the course and in their future scientific work. The Eighth Edition provides enhanced and proven features in every chapter, including new Chapter Goals, Essential Problem-Solving Skills and Hints that encourage both majors and non-majors to think critically and avoid taking "short cuts" to solve problems. Mechanism Boxes and Key Mechanism Boxes strengthen student understanding of Organic Chemistry as a whole while contemporary applications reinforce the relevance of this science to the real world. Book The Radiological Accident in Goi nia

Download or read book The Radiological Accident in Goi nia written by International Atomic Energy Agency and published by . This book was released on 1988 with total page 174 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The Government and authorities in Brazil were faced with a tragic accident in Goiânia resulting from the misuse of a strongly radioactive medical teletherapy source not under radiation protection surveillance. The present report is divided into four parts: a chronology of destruction of the source, discovery of the accident and initial response; a description of the human consequences and the dosimetry and treatment of seriously exposed and contaminated persons; an account of the assessment of the environmental contamination and the remedial actions taken; and observations and recommendations. Appendices and annexes give an assessment of the effectiveness of international co-operation in the emergency response, and provide further information on: public communications; radiological survey equipment; guidelines for the discharge of patients; radiological protection; chemical decontamination; and the lessons learned.

Book Applications of Activated Sludge Models

Download or read book Applications of Activated Sludge Models written by Damir Brdjanovic and published by IWA Publishing. This book was released on 2015-02-15 with total page 472 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In 1982 the International Association on Water Pollution Research and Control (IAWPRC), as it was then called, established a Task Group on Mathematical Modelling for Design and Operation of Activated Sludge Processes. The aim of the Task Group was to create a common platform that could be used for the future development of models for COD and N removal with a minimum of complexity. As the collaborative result of the work of several modelling groups, the Activated Sludge Model No. 1 (ASM1) was published in 1987, exactly 25 years ago. The ASM1 can be considered as the reference model, since this model triggered the general acceptance of wastewater treatment modelling, first in the research community and later on also in practice. ASM1 has become a reference for many scientific and practical projects, and has been implemented (in some cases with modifications) in most of the commercial software available for modelling and simulation of plants for N removal. The models have grown more complex over the years, from ASM1, including N removal processes, to ASM2 (and its variations) including P removal processes, and ASM3 that corrects the deficiencies of ASM1 and is based on a metabolic approach to modelling. So far, ASM1 is the most widely applied. Applications of Activated Sludge Models has been prepared in celebration of 25 years of ASM1 and in tribute to the activated sludge modelling pioneer, the late Professor G.v.R. Marrais. It consists of a dozen of practical applications for ASM models to model development, plant optimization, extension, upgrade, retrofit and troubleshooting, carried out by the members of the Delft modelling group over the last two decades.
