Book Finish Your Course Are You Running The Race To Finish or Are You Just Running

Download or read book Finish Your Course Are You Running The Race To Finish or Are You Just Running written by Joy Phagoo Meloney and published by Christian Faith Publishing, Inc.. This book was released on 2022-08-01 with total page 74 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: What I am writing about I wrote this book to share on the life of my father, Pastor Zam, initially. But as I started writing, I realized that the Holy Spirit was gently guiding me to share some of the ways he lived a victorious Christian life, according to the word of God. Growing up in church all my life, I have witnessed many believers getting converted, but are never transformed and changed to reflect the victorious life of their savior, Jesus Christ. I believe there are a lot of reasons for this, the wrong teaching and dispensation of the Word of God, the believers' lack of knowledge in the word of God and who it says that He is, and what it says they already possess. I have seen many believers being dispossessed by the enemy by deception and manipulation. The enemy manipulated the word of God in the Garden of Eden to deceive Eve. And man has been used by him to manipulate the word of God since then. When believers are unsure of their identity in Christ and choose to entertain the voice of the enemy they become easily deceived and are dispossessed of their dominion authority and spiritual connection from that point onward. When we do not know that we can experience the manifest presence of God every day and benefit from the comfort and conversation of the Holy Spirit daily, then the enemy has already robbed and dispossessed us of our covenant blessing in Christ. In Mark 9:23 Jesus said unto him, "If thou canst believe, all things are possible to Him that believeth." We need to go back to that faith and belief in the word like Jesus spoke about here. I wrote this book to unbelievers to give them an insight on what they can have access to in Christ. The peace, the contentment, fulfillment, power, deliverance, healing, and wisdom is available to them if they accept Christ as savior and Lord of their life. I wrote this book to challenge the elect, to know the message, be the witness of that message, walk in the light, and to continuously stay in that place where truth and the Spirit of Truth will prevail in your life. Why is this book unique and why does it fill a market need? Many people in this world, even church-going Bible-toting Christians live in a state of defeat and lack in their life. Lack in finances, lack in wisdom, lack of time, lack of faith, lack of proper guidance, etc. Yet God promised us the abundant life if we only believe. John 10:10 tell us that, "The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly." If you have loss or lack, then it is safe to say a thief has entered and stolen from you, wouldn't you agree? This is the reason I wrote this book, so the eyes of your understanding be opened to the lies and cunning devises of the enemy. This book will help you to identify the areas that the enemy has stolen from you today. Areas like your health, finances, peace, etc. It will show you how to take them back by faith in God. Hosea 4:6 says that "My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because thou has rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee, that thou shalt be no priest to me: seeing thou hast forgotten the law of thy God, I will also forget thy children."

Book The Accidental Creative

Download or read book The Accidental Creative written by Todd Henry and published by Penguin. This book was released on 2013-08-27 with total page 242 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Many of us assume that our creative process is beyond our ability to influence, and pay attention to it only when it isn't working properly. For the most part, we go about our daily tasks and everything just "works." Until it doesn't. Adding to this lack of understanding is the rapidly accelerating pace of work. Each day we are face escalating expectations and a continual squeeze to do more with less. We are asked to produce an ever-increasing amount of brilliance in an ever-shrinking amount of time. There is an unspoken (or spoken!) expectation that we'll be accessible 24/7, and as a result we frequently feel like we're "always on." Now business creativity expert Todd Henry explains how to unleash your creative potential. Whether you're a creative by trade or an "accidental creative," this book will help you quickly and effectively integrate new ideas into your daily life.

Book Running Through the Wall

Download or read book Running Through the Wall written by Neal Jamison and published by Breakaway Books. This book was released on 2014-04-30 with total page 220 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: WHAT’S IT LIKE TO RUN FOR 30, 50, OR 100 MILES? This book is a great inspiration not only to current ultrarunners, and to marathoners looking for the next challenge—but also to runners of all abilities, who will see that there is nothing you can’t do if you have the desire. What makes ultrarunners tick? What goes through their minds at mile 93? How can you train for such a colossal undertaking? These questions and many more are answered in this inspiring collection of 39 personal stories from ultramarathoners. Ultramarathoning is the logical next step for those who burn with a desire to explore their limits, and beyond. It is impossible to run ultra distances without coming away with at least one fascinating story. This book is full of them. There are stories of fatigue, blisters, nausea, and despair. But the ultrarunner prevails to find hope, love, healing, self-discovery, friendship, selflessness, and in the end, for most, triumph. Learn what it feels like to run an ultra from the champions, the newcomers, and the veterans of the sport. A few brief excerpts: “I left Edinburg witnessing my second sunrise on this run. Most ultrarunners dread dawn—the hours from 4:00 to 6:00 a.m.—primarily because this is when fatigue sets in.” —Keith Knipling “It would be hours before we’d see the first aid station, and probably close to two days before we’d have dry feet again!” —Deb Pero “I’m 95 miles into a 100-miler, it’s over 100 degrees out, my legs are shot, I’m a few scant minutes ahead of Ann and Gabriel, and my pacer is stopped dead in the trail for fear of a skunk?” —Tim Twietmeyer “Ultrarunning is without question the most feared aspect of adventure racing.” —Ian Adamson “The urge to quit right there was overwhelming, but I was still in the race. Perhaps a miracle would happen and I could get in under the four hours it would take to make the next cutoff. I thanked the aid station captain and plunged into the darkness.” —Will Brown “It was time to put all the viable excuses aside and look inside.” —Tracy Baldyga “I think I quit about 20 times during the race, mostly between the time the sun went down and the time that I finally walked away. Reality sets in when it gets dark. The trail gets lonely.” —Jason Hodde “During every race you are faced with a moment of truth, a point in the race when you either quit or persevere to the end. Every person who finishes an ultramarathon has accomplished a great feat, simply because they finished.” —Bethany Hunter

  • Publisher : Post Hill Press

  • Pages : 191 pages

Download or read book Anatomy of a Survivor written by Dr. Joyce Mikal-Flynn and published by Post Hill Press. This book was released on 2021-04-27 with total page 191 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In 1990, after a sudden cardiac event, Joyce Mikal-Flynn was dead for twenty-two minutes. While CPR and determined doctors returned her to life, she came to find that this new life wasn’t her life at all. Faced with depression, personal and professional setbacks, she ultimately recognized that this was not an end point—but a beginning. Over time, she understood that taking control begins with the essential choice to move forward. Her struggles fueled her. You got this, she told herself with every obstacle, failure, and misstep. Trauma and crisis are inescapable aspects of life. Framed, at times, as something to get over, trauma never fully leaves those who experience it. For over two decades, Dr. Mikal-Flynn has worked with and studied issues faced by survivors. She understands and recognizes their desire to move forward, identifying specific mindsets and behaviors that encourage progress. Making the choice to move forward, fierce determination, and well-researched actions are key for survival and growth. Interlacing stories with research on genetics, posttraumatic growth, and the neuroscience of resilience and happiness, this book outlines how survivors of trauma structure a positive and productive response. An ingenious strengths-based rehabilitation system—metahabilitation—engages them by uncovering and developing their resilience, grit, and capacity for growth after trauma. This book shows you how survivors are built and presents a unique system guiding them forward.

Highly recommended."- Sally Abercrombie (Goodreads reviewer) "Needed to read this! All the way through reading this book, I felt I was getting something new from it.
