Book Finding the Unmarked Soul

Download or read book Finding the Unmarked Soul written by Laura Reed and published by Lulu.com. This book was released on 2017-04-17 with total page 322 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Rights taken, laws changed, choices given: take what they give you and live above in comfort or be confined to prisons. The pecking order allows this blessing for chosen ones as long as you perpetuate the prisons of the mind. Appreciating what is given is mandatory. Needing more is a crime. I guess that makes Jasmine, and those like her, criminal. In spite of it all, Jasmine finds life, love, family and happiness. Risk is worth the fulfillment until the day it is not herself she risks. There is no choice but to send her beloved baby above in the care of his father, her lover; a needed choice that ruptures the life she builds and unknowingly follows the path along tales of old. Rufus, a wolf elder long ago pledged to guide her, becomes protector and confidant in the world below. He walks by her side to rescue those they love. We live in hiding helping those we can. Dare we live life in love? Do we hope for family? Do we hope for battle and freedom?

Book excerpt: As infants who only understood oneness with the mother, we were surrounded by people, attitudes, traumas, relationship dynamics and all manner of parental projections with which we identified. We, therefore, hung our name tags on our parents' old unresolved and projected "stuff" in certain prescribed ways that formed a mask and a costume meant especially for us. Though we were mistaken in donning the mask and costume laid out for us, this mistake kept us attached to our caregivers, and/or helped us survive sometimes horrendous childhoods. But our survival technique has now become the albatross around our necks, while we walk the planks laid out for us by the roles we play. Do we imagine that our problems are really the result of some external force? Again, we are mistaken. Most of the problems that we have today have come about as a result of the role we play, its script and the choices we have made out of that identity. The solution lies in finding the Authentic Self. And yet, our world teaches us that finding the Authentic Self is, at best, a well-guarded secret passage of mythical proportions, and at worst, wasted time and effort, for it simply cannot be done. If we believe that, we are mistaken yet again. Not only is it possible to find and begin to live out of our authenticity, but it is the most hopeful journey we will ever take. It offers us the potential of a lasting peace, and yes, even joy. Working the pages of this book offers a practical yet deeply spiritual guide to finding and living the Authentic Self.

Book excerpt: Narrative Innocent Souls is a work that details the disappearance of ten residents of Fayetteville, Arkansas, and the investigation pursued by Sheriff Enos Lanford. The narrative opens as three-year-old Jake accompanies his mother and sister to the cotton fields for a day of work. While Jake is napping under a tree, ten people mysteriously vanish. Enos discovers the boy and takes him to his home. He, his wife Jenny, and Mrs. Hannah decide to care for the boy. FBI agent Anna Servanti helps Enos with his investigation, and together they uncover drug running and treachery involving Quality Health Supplements Company. Jennys father, Mayor Potts, is targeted, but his stay in the hospital prevents a murder hit. Innocent Souls mixes drugs, persistent police work, and family in a story that seeks to explore life in a small rural Arkansas town. Fayetteville is a Southern town where strong oaks spread their limbs, almost touching neighboring trees. Their acorns create an inviting aura of peace and tranquility. A gentle river runs the length of this small town with surrounding forests, which is home and haven for wild creatures and feathered friends alike. It is a poor town, but man, forest, and beast coexist together in peace.

Book Finding Spiritual Whitespace

Book excerpt: Move beyond Coping and Surviving to a Rejuvenating Place of Soul Rest How many of us find ourselves exhausted, running on empty with no time for rest, no time for ourselves, no time for God? Bonnie Gray knows exactly what that's like. On the brink of fulfilling a lifelong dream, Bonnie's plans suddenly went off script. Her life shattered into a debilitating journey through anxiety, panic attacks, and insomnia. But as she struggled to make sense of it all, she made an important discovery: we all need spiritual whitespace. Spiritual whitespace makes room--room in one's heart for a deep relationship with God, room in one's life for rest, room in one's soul for rejuvenation. With soul-stirring vulnerability and heartbreaking honesty, Bonnie takes readers on a personal journey to feed their souls and uncover the deeper story of rest. Lyrical writing draws readers into Gray's intimate journey through overwhelming stress to find God in a broken story and celebrate the beauty of faith. Guided by biblical encouragement and thought-provoking prompts, Gray shows readers how to create space in the everyday for God, refreshment, and faith. She also offers practical steps and insights for making spiritual whitespace a reality, right in the midst of the stress-frayed stories in every season of life. "We live in a culture that brags and boasts about being busy. Into that reality steps Bonnie with a new idea. Whitespace is an important concept and Bonnie has captured it perfectly. If you're exhausted with being exhausted, read this book. If you feel too busy to read this book, then that's probably the best sign of all that you need it."--from the foreword by Jon Acuff, New York Times bestselling author of Stuff Christians Like

Book For Robert Cooper

Download or read book For Robert Cooper written by Martin Parker and published by Routledge. This book was released on 2015-12-22 with total page 347 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Robert Cooper, who died in 2013, was the leading theorist of organization working in England over the past few decades. Describing himself as a ‘social philosopher,’ he was one of the first writers to introduce post-structuralist and post-modern thought into theories of organization but was always reluctant to reduce what he did to being part of ‘Management.’ Instead, he concentrated on thinking about organizations and organizing, working with ideas about entity and process views of organizations, and also the dualisms of organization/environment, organization/disorganization, and concentrating particularly on ideas of the boundary or seam which divides and conjoins. He wrote about, and was influenced by systems theory and post-structuralist philosophy, particularly Whitehead, Bateson, Deleuze, Derrida, Foucault and Simmel. Cooper has already been the subject of much commentary but much of his work is not well known, and it deserves a wider readership. The purpose of this collection is to gather together a body of essays which are widely dispersed in journals and edited collections. This is a repository of pieces and extracts which stand the test of time, and scholars will benefit from a collection which pulls together some of his most influential work. The collection also contains two essays, one biographical and one intellectual, about Cooper and his work.
