Book excerpt: Where do you turn when pain doesnt diminish, and turns into a constant companion? What does it look like to lean on the Lord for strength when every day is a struggle? In A Reluctant Journey, Kristen Grathwol shares her past and present battles with the chronic pain of fibromyalgia. Weaving personal experience with reflections on Scripture, A Reluctant Journey shows how the cycle of chronic pain can lead to a spiritual cycle of trust and praise. In journal entries that lay bare the doubts and difficulties of chronic pain, along with the joy that comes from surrendering to the One who knows our deepest hurt, A Reluctant Journey explores five facets of this theme: trusting God, surrendering control, praising God in the midst of suffering, learning how to rest and grieve, and seeking community. When we trust God, we are freed from our desire to control, even to the point of embracing our trials. Even when God chooses not to change our circumstances, surrender brings joy and moves us to praise Him for His goodness and His plan in our lives. Yet God also knows our grief and wants us to bring Him our sorrows as well. Seeking God rescues us from the isolating power of pain and restores us to community. Starting this cycle is not a once-and-for-all decision, but a daily choice. An encouragement to those struggling with long-term trials, A Reluctant Journey offers a scriptural message of hope and healing for pain both physical and emotional.

Book Faith Forgiveness Fibromyalgia

Download or read book Faith Forgiveness Fibromyalgia written by Nance Fabretti and published by . This book was released on 2019-10-31 with total page 120 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The one who wars against our soul has been working to destroy the family unit since Genesis. In fact, Genesis is a great book to read to see family dysfunction up close and personal. I have learned a great deal from Genesis regarding people's tendencies, poor choices, and how God responds. God is incredibly forgiving; however, He does not excuse us from the ramifications of our choices, good or bad. We all come with some sort of baggage. We need the One who created the universe, who breathed life into us, who knit us together in our mothers' wombs, who taught us wisdom in that secret place, and who knows each one of us intimately to affirm His love for us. We all desire to belong and to be loved. I built large walls around my heart to protect it from pain and disappointment, and I learned to take care of myself and to count only on myself. But that is not where my story ends... You see, "The God who sees me" Genesis 16:13 was watching, drawing, loving, caring and protecting. His loving kindness was pulling me in, for it is "His kindness that leads us to repentance" (Romans 2:4). The God of all hope began to fill me with joy and peace as I trusted in Him, and I began to overflow with hope through the power of the Holy Spirit. This woman who now writes to bring hope to others has been made new. I am alive in Christ! I am no longer defined by the words depressed, angry, hurt, unwanted, or unloved. I am now called chosen, wanted, beloved, child of the King. God's grace and love saw me, called me and, upon my response to Him, began a work that He will see through to completion. I no longer wander in the darkness, for I have seen a great light. I am no longer independent, but interdependent, "for we are all Living Stones fitted jointly together" (1 Peter 2:5). I have been healed from fibromyalgia. I have been healed from anger and depression through forgiveness. I am now defined by the words written on the pages of the Bible, and I hide them in my heart. I am now compelled to share the love and hope that is available to every single person who still has breath in him (or her). "Because of His great love for us, God who is rich in mercy made us alive in Christ even when we were dead in transgressions" (Ephesians 2:4). "How great is the love the Father has lavished on us that we should be called children of God and that is what we are!" (1 John 3:1). This is my story.

Book My Journey Through Fibromyalgia

Download or read book My Journey Through Fibromyalgia written by Nancy Alexander and published by Laney Leaf Publishing. This book was released on 2017-04-08 with total page 202 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: For twenty-five years, Nancy Alexander battled a mysterious illness without a diagnosis. Despite spells of total debilitation and hospitalizations with no answers, she managed to fight through and raise two sons and create a successful business. Like many marriages where chronic illness is at the forefront, Nancy's suffered. This is her story of fighting the medical system to receive a diagnosis and to not only save her marriage to Steve but restore it to a place of joy. Years of rumors from doctors and friends, the ravages on her body from disease, and the rescue in the form of a doctor and nutritionist all culminated into a place of wellness that Nancy now shares with her readers. Though she didn't always know it during her journey, God's hand guided and protected her and Steve. Nancy's story will uplift and encourage those with chronic illness that answers are worth fighting for, and God's strength is sufficient on even the worse days. Review by Jim Cockrum of My Silent Team: "I love to surround myself with people who challenge me. Those rare souls who endure and persist and eventually find a way to overcome impossible odds with determination and focus to ignite something unique and special inside us. You simply can't have too many people like that in your life. Prepare to add Nancy to your list of champions. This book is not "Nancy and Steve's story of tragedy and triumph." It's far more. it's a finely tuned weapon of spiritual warfare that our father has been sharpening ("on the anvil" to borrow a phrase from Lucado) for quite some time now - and it's about to do some serious damage in the spiritual realm." Review by Sue Mellette: "Nancy, I felt at times I was feeling your pain, bewilderment & your desperate need to find help. Your story is much more than fighting Fibromyalgia and learning to live with it. It is a love story of finding the love a husband and wife should have for each other. It is a love story that through your finding the Lord and knowing that He does not forsake us even in our darkest hours, He has a plan for you and your husband. Your story is open, brutally honest, and forthright. Yes, it brought me to tears at times and joy at others! It's a great story that could be brought to life on the big screen. It was so vivid and descriptive, I could actually see your struggles. A powerful story about a disease and your diligence in finding exactly what was wrong. You truly are special!" Review by Rita Gallow: "Nancy, Your book is wonderful! You and Steve should be commended for being so open and honest about your private lives. This book did make me cry and when finished, I wanted to give you a big hug. I am convinced this book will help countless people suffering with chronic illnesses & fibromyalgia. For me, the best part was that you and Steve invited Christ into your lives, making Him the center of your marriage. When finished, I had a big smile in my heart! May God bless you and Steve." Review by Hallie Sue Wells: "Nancy, I loved this book! I started out thinking it was going to be a book about Fibromyalgia but was so wrong. It is really a great love story, a mystery, a story of survival and most of all God's grace and strength given to one of his children. I felt so many emotions while engrossed in every page, from frustration, fear and hopelessness to anger and bitterness over things that should not have been then to relief, love and joy as the aftermath of such a devastating, debilitating disease finally started getting answers and healing. While reading I wondered how I would have handled or reacted to each situation and the devastating pain of body and mind. I really doubted that I could have survived. I am so glad that you survived and are now making a difference in so many lives. I'm also glad you have been brave enough to put your life on paper, sharing it with everyone. Your story proves with God, all things really are possible.

Your consciousness will work to get back in tune with the God's vision of the universe to resolve the tension. There are two simple ways to ease this tension. You must work with God's creation in order to make your declarations become true, or you must stop the prayer. As you choose to continue praying, your mind and body will seek to balance this inequality with the universe by transforming your environment to match your declarations of truth. Sooner than later, you will find yourself taking positive and decisive action that you never imagined possible as your perceptions naturally align with your true reality. If you want to see positive change now, you'll find the quickest path to fulfillment with prayer through God's love.
