Au Maroc, une premiere experience a vu le jour en 2007 avec la mise en place de trois contrats islamiques: Mourabaha, Ijara et Mousharaka. En revanche, telle qu'elle a ete concue, cette experience n'a pas rencontre le succes espere par les operateurs socio-economiques et le grand public. Ce n'est qu'au debut de septembre 2012 qu'un projet d'amendement de la loi bancaire, consacrant le statut de banque islamique, a ete soumis par Bank Al Maghreb aux professionnels pour consultation. A plus forte raison, ce revirement est du a une situation de sous-liquidite caracterisant l'economie marocaine depuis 2008 et qui s'est accentuee considerablement depuis 2012; la finance islamique pouvant, a juste titre, constituer une soupape de financement. En plus d'un projet d'amendement de la loi sur la titrisation ouvrant aux operateurs la possibilite d'emettre des sukuks sur la place casablancaise."
