Download or read book Final Analysis written by Jeffrey Moussaieff Masson and published by Untreed Reads. This book was released on 2013-02-13 with total page 124 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: He was the rising star of psychoanalysis, an intimate associate of Anna Freud and Kurt Eissler, a member of the Freudian "inner circle" with unrestricted access to the Freud Archives. And then Jeffrey Moussaieff Masson threw it all away because he dared to break the psychoanalytic community's deepest taboo: he told the truth in public. As he unmasks the pretensions and abuses of this elite profession, Masson invites us to eavesdrop on the shockingly unorthodox analysis he was subjected to in the course of his analytic training. But the more prestige Masson attained, the more he came to doubt not only the integrity of his colleagues, but the validity of their method. In the end, he blew the whistle-fully aware of the personal and professional consequences. With wit, wonder, and unflinching candor, Masson brilliantly exposes the cult of psychoanalysis and recounts his own self-propelled fall from grace. A sensation when it first appeared, Final Analysis is even more provocative and engrossing today. Written with passion and humor, this is the book that revealed a revered profession for what it was-and launched Masson on his true career.
Download or read book The Assassination of President John F Kennedy The Final Analysis written by David W. Mantik, M.D., Ph.D., and published by Post Hill Press. This book was released on with total page 494 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In this decisive analysis of the JFK assassination, medical expert Dr. David W. Mantik and New York Times bestselling author Jerome R. Corsi definitively validate the observations of the physicians at Parkland Hospital, who recognized immediately that the wound in JFK’s throat and the massive, avulsed blow-out in the back of his head both involved frontal shots. What distinguishes this book from the myriad of books written on the JFK assassination is that Dr. Mantik’s optical density measurements of the JFK skull X-rays in the National Archives leave no doubt the X-rays were altered to disguise evidence of the two frontal shots. With over four decades of experience reading X-rays, Dr. Mantik has examined the JFK assassination materials more than anyone else. Mantik and Corsi present overwhelming testimonial and documentary evidence that proves the Bethesda surgeons performed pre-autopsy surgery on JFK’s head to remove evidence of the forehead bullet, as well as to gain access to his brain and thus “sanitize the crime scene” by removing bullet fragments and bullet tracks in the brain tissue. “The world is starving for objective science. This book contains objective forensic science for which the world will never be ready. If the X-rays were doctored, the CIA, the FBI, and the US Secret Service have some questions to answer. The public deserves the final analysis of these issues.” —James Lyons-Weiler, PhD, The Institute for Pure and Applied Knowledge

Download or read book The Vaping Truth Survey Final Analysis written by Kevin Crowley and published by Lulu.com. This book was released on 2015-05-17 with total page 75 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: I created this survey to get the message to people that vaping IS an extremely viable choice to stop smoking. These are the survey results from 7,238 worldwide participants in the survey. Vaping is changing the world & is saving lives by both reducing and eliminating tobacco from our very lives. Some don't like that, and they're doing anything they can to deter this change. We know what we experience. We know vaping is better than smoking. That's what we're here to tell you. Other goals for this survey were to see what other vapers thought, good AND bad, to have an idea of how it works, to see how long it took for them and other questions within the survey/poll that were important for the world to see. Among other things, it was to create a place to point if there is someone I or anyone else knows that is contemplating vaping as an alternative to smoking. These are answers from vapers.

Download or read book Theory of Drug Development written by Eric B. Holmgren and published by CRC Press. This book was released on 2013-10-24 with total page 264 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Theory of Drug Development presents a formal quantitative framework for understanding drug development that goes beyond simply describing the properties of the statistics in individual studies. It examines the drug development process from the perspectives of drug companies and regulatory agencies. By quantifying various ideas underlying drug development, the book shows how to systematically address problems, such as: Sizing a phase 2 trial and choosing the range of p-values that will trigger a follow-up phase 3 trial Deciding whether a drug should receive marketing approval based on its phase 2/3 development program and recent experience with other drugs in the same clinical area Determining the impact of adaptive designs on the quality of drugs that receive marketing approval Designing a phase 3 pivotal study that permits the data-driven adjustment of the treatment effect estimate Knowing when enough information has been gathered to show that a drug improves the survival time for the whole patient population Drawing on his extensive work as a statistician in the pharmaceutical industry, the author focuses on the efficient development of drugs and the quantification of evidence in drug development. He provides a rationale for underpowered phase 2 trials based on the notion of efficiency, which leads to the identification of an admissible family of phase 2 designs. He also develops a framework for evaluating the strength of evidence generated by clinical trials. This approach is based on the ratio of power to type 1 error and transcends typical Bayesian and frequentist statistical analyses.

Download or read book Progress towards ending hunger and malnutrition A cross country cluster analysis written by Food and Agricultural Organization of the United Nations (FAO) and published by Intl Food Policy Res Inst. This book was released on 2020-08-14 with total page 80 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This report provides a quantitative assessment of progress made towards the sustainable development goal of ending hunger and all forms of malnutrition since 1990. Using a cluster analysis, it categorizes country performance along three dimensions: (1) food security and nutrition outcomes; (2) structural drivers of food security and nutrition; and (3) past and present policy interventions in support of food security and nutrition. Key findings show that much progress has been made towards the goal of ending hunger. Yet, many countries continue to face moderate to high degrees of undernourishment, especially where economies made least progress in transitioning towards high-productivity, modern agriculture and non-farm economic development and where policy stances have been weak in promoting agricultural development, reducing gender inequalities, and improving infrastructure and basic social services. The decline in undernourishment has come with a rise in the prevalence in overweight and obesity. The spread of this form of malnutrition has come with dietary shifts towards the consumption of more animalsourced and processed foods that have accompanied urbanization and income growth. By 2015, the vast majority of countries faced moderate to high prevalence of adult overweight, and this form of malnutrition is also on the rise in countries with still significant rates of child undernourishment. No country in the world is showing declines in the rate of adult overweight.
