Book How to fight the devil

Download or read book How to fight the devil written by Jorge Tadeu and published by Motes & Ideias. This book was released on with total page 90 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: WHO IS OUR ENEMY? Many people are deceived, fighting against things, against people, against problems or against diseases, not knowing who their true enemy is. Let us see, through the Word of God, that our true enemies are “demons”, organised into castes. These “demons” are led by the Devil, also called Lucifer or Satan. Jesus said – "the Devil comes only to Steal, Kill and Destroy." John 10:10 As the devil and his angels (demons) are not seen, many people have difficulty believing in them. We also cannot see the WIND, however it exists. The wind is felt, and its MANIFESTATION is seen, for example, through the movement of the trees. Such is the MANIFESTATION of demons. They cannot be seen because they are spirits, but we can see their MANIFESTATIONS. If we are able to identify the demons when they operate against us and if we know how to fight against them, we will have victories in our lives like we never dreamt of having. This is what this book is about: To teach how to RECOGNISE demons; To teach how to FIGHT against them.

Book My Fight with the Devil

Book excerpt: Mental madness, misery, guilt, physical neglect; it all came like a whirlwind as I crawled around in the darkness, searching for my sanity. I had barricaded myself in the cold bedroom of the condemned building. The demons danced on the surface my mind, bringing with them the illusion of peace in a small rock that my body craved for. It was hell dressed like heaven at the end of my glass pipe. It promised to rescue me from all that tormented me while reality slipped away at the strike of my lighter. It seemed that not even God could save me from the bottom in which I was headed. It was my turn to wrestle with the prince of darkness and his appointed legions of entities. My faith had been bottled up and sealed shut, leaving my soul stained in the pits of HELL!

Book excerpt: When church and culture look the same... For the many Christians eager to prove we can be both holy and cool, cultural pressures are too much. We either compartmentalize our faith or drift from it altogether—into a world that’s so alluring. Have you wondered lately: Why does the Western church look so much like the world? Why are so many of my friends leaving the faith? How can we get back to our roots? Disappearing Church will help you sort through concerns like these, guiding you in a thoughtful, faithful, and hopeful response. Weaving together art, history, and theology, pastor and cultural observer Mark Sayers reminds us that real growth happens when the church embraces its countercultural witness, not when it blends in. It’s like Jesus said long ago, “If the salt loses its saltiness, it is no longer good for anything…”

After he demanded the money back, he started getting sick. While he was in the hospital, doctors were mystified as to how an otherwise healthy, energetic man could become so deathly ill. The dying man told everyone within earshot that his wife and bookkeeper were killing him. The man's wife said her husband was hallucinating from drugs the doctors were giving him. The millionaire rancher succumbed in the hospital while strapped down to his bed with restraints on his hands and feet and tubes in every orifice. After the rancher died, an anonymous caller tipped off the police. The widow was the sole beneficiary of the estate and a $350,000 life insurance policy. A week before the man's death, a teenager visited the rancher's home and became deathly ill after he drank juice that was in the rancher's refrigerator. Two years after the millionaire's death, a bottle of arsenic was found in a storage locker rented by a woman under an assumed name. The millionaire's ex-wife, the mother of his children, became a sleuth to help solve the murder. No one could have predicted the aftermath with its strange twists and unexpected results.

Book Fighting the Devil in Dixie

Download or read book Fighting the Devil in Dixie written by Wayne Greenhaw and published by Chicago Review Press. This book was released on 2011-01-01 with total page 353 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Examining the growth of the Ku Klux Klan (KKK) following the birth of the civil rights movement, this book is filled with tales of the heroic efforts to halt their rise to power. Shortly after the success of the Montgomery bus boycott, the KKK—determined to keep segregation as the way of life in Alabama—staged a resurgence, and the strong-armed leadership of Governor George C. Wallace, who defied the new civil rights laws, empowered the Klan’s most violent members. Although Wallace’s power grew, not everyone accepted his unjust policies, and blacks such as Martin Luther King Jr., J. L. Chestnut, and Bernard LaFayette began fighting back in the courthouses and schoolhouses, as did young southern lawyers such as Charles “Chuck” Morgan, who became the ACLU’s southern director; Morris Dees, who cofounded the Southern Poverty Law Center; and Bill Baxley, Alabama attorney general, who successfully prosecuted the bomber of Birmingham’s 16th Street Baptist Church and legally halted some of Governor Wallace’s agencies designed to slow down integration. Dozens of exciting, extremely well-told stories demonstrate how blacks defied violence and whites defied public ostracism and indifference in the face of kidnappings, bombings, and murders.

Book Don t Give the Enemy a Seat at Your Table

Download or read book Don t Give the Enemy a Seat at Your Table written by Louie Giglio and published by Thomas Nelson. This book was released on 2021-05-11 with total page 208 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Louie Giglio helps you find encouragement, hope, and strength in the midst of any valley as you reject the enemy voices of fear, rage, lust, insecurity, anxiety, despair, temptation, or defeat. Scripture is clear: the Enemy is a liar who will stop at nothing to tempt you into poor decisions and self-defeating mindsets, making you feel afraid, angry, anxious, or defeated. It is all too easy for Satan to weasel his way into a seat at the table intended for only you and your King. But you can fight back. Don't Give the Enemy a Seat at Your Table outlines the ways to overcome those lies so you can find peace and security in any challenging circumstance or situation. With the same bold, exciting approach to Scripture as employed in Goliath Must Fall and his other previous works, pastor Louie Giglio examines Psalm 23 in fresh ways, highlighting verse 5: "You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies." You can find freedom from insecurity, temptation, and defeat--if you allow Jesus, the Shepherd, to lead the battle for your mind and heart. This spiritual warfare book for those who are leery of spiritual warfare books will resonate with Louie's core Passion tribe as well as with Christians of all ages who want to live a triumphant life in God.

Book excerpt: There's a battle going on. It's true that the devil wears a suit and tie, but don't be fooled, if you watch him long enough, his pants will catch on fire. There's a battle going on. There's an angel sitting on one shoulder and a demon sitting on the other, and the one speaks soft and sensibly, the other plays an electric guitar and screams into your ear. And we all look good on Sunday morning, but sometimes our suits get rumbled and wrinkled in the course of the week, and temptation isn't just an apple on the tree anymore. It's a constant companion, and the road to heaven has more potholes than any preacher will admit to, but that does not change anything. Right is still right, and there's a battle going on. Fighting the Devil is one man's trek through the jungle.
