Book excerpt: For the cancer patient, cannabis has a number of potential benefits, especially in the management of symptoms. Cannabis is useful in combatting anorexia, chemotherapy-induced nausea and vomiting, pain, insomnia, and depression. Cannabis might be less potent than other available antiemetics, but for some patients, it is the only agent that works, and it is the only antiemetic that also increases appetite. Inhaled cannabis is more effective than placebo in ameliorating peripheral neuropathy in a number of conditions, and it could prove useful in chemotherapy-induced neuropathy. A pharmacokinetic interaction study of vaporized cannabis in patients with chronic pain on stable doses of sustained-release opioids demonstrated no clinically significant change in plasma opiates, while suggesting the possibility of synergistic analgesia. Aside from symptom management, an increasing body of in vitro and animal-model studies supports a possible direct anticancer effect of cannabinoids by way of a number of different mechanisms involving apoptosis, angiogenesis, and inhibition of metastasis. Despite an absence adequate clinical trials, abundant anecdotal reports that describe patients having remarkable responses to cannabis as an anticancer agent, especially when taken as a high-potency orally ingested concentrate, are circulating. Human studies should be conducted to address critical questions related to the foregoing effects. Furthermore, CBD is known for mitigating chemotherapy side effects, such as nausea, vomiting etc. Therefore, this palliative treatment could improve the overall quality of life for pancreatic cancer patients. In order to understand the benefits of CBD for cancer, we must first clarify what cancer is and how it occurs. Cancer starts when the body's cells begin uncontrollably dividing. This leads to tumors, which can cause an array of complications. The symptoms and prognosis depend on the cancer in question. It is also possible for some cancers to spread to other tissues. Clinically, I have observed that many cancer patients benefit from adding cannabis to their pain regimen. Although the effect on chemotherapy-induced peripheral neuropathy has not been glaringly obvious, other sorts of cancer-related pain appear to respond. Patients who have been put on high doses of opiates at the end of life by their well-meaning oncologist or palliative care team frequently feel totally unable to communicate with their loved ones in their precious remaining time because of altered cognition. Many have successfully weaned themselves down or off their opiate dose by adding cannabis to their regimen. Although it would seem that thc-dominant strains of cannabis would be most likely to have analgesic effects, patients often report significant pain reduction from strains that are predominantly cbd-rich. Although cbd does not actually bind to the cb1 receptor, it does block the fatty-acid binding protein that transports the endocannabinoid intracellularly to be hydrolyzed by the fatty-acid amide hydrolase, hence allowing the endogenous cannabinoid complexed with the receptors to persist The CBD (Cannabidiol) effect rather amplifies the working of cannabinoid receptors, consequently improving the effectiveness of THC and other cannabinoids. Therefore, patients should use a combined treatment of THC and CBD for best results. This book gives an account of everything you need to know about cancer, cbd oil, CBD oil dosage for cancer treatment, success stories of people that used cbd oil for treating their cancer and how CBD Oil can be used to treat cancer, how you can get cbd oil online and at retail shops and lots of interesting and informative topics and sub-topics. Book excerpt: Cannabidiol (CBD) is one of many cannabinoids that can be found in hemp and marijuana, two types of cannabis plants.CBD may help people with cancer manage some symptoms of the disease as well as side effects of treatment. Scientists are also looking into how CBD could aid cancer treatment, but more research is needed before any conclusions can be made.Marijuana has enough tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) to get you high, but hemp does not. CBD itself has no psychoactive compounds. However, CBD products may have trace amounts of THC.There's solid evidence supporting the idea that cannabinoids can reduce tumor growth in animal models of cancer. CBD may also enhance uptake or increase potencyTrusted Source of certain drugs used to treat cancer. Here are some promising studies: A 2019 review Trusted Source of in vitro and in vivo studies focusing on pancreatic cancer found that cannabinoids can help slow tumor growth, reduce tumor invasion, and induce tumor cell death. The study authors wrote that research into the effectiveness of different formulations, dosing, and precise mode of action are lacking and urgently needed.A 2019 studyTrusted Source indicated that CBD could provoke cell death and make glioblastoma cells more sensitive to radiation, but with no effect on healthy cells.A large, long-term studyTrusted Source of men within the California Men's Health Study cohort found that using cannabis may be inversely associated with bladder cancer risk. However, a cause and effect relationship hasn't been established.A 2014 study in experimental models of colon cancer in vivo suggests that CBD may inhibit the spread of colorectal cancer cells.A reviewTrusted Source of 35 in vitro and in vivo studies found that cannabinoids are promising compounds in the treatment of gliomas.Other research demonstrated the efficacy of CBD in pre-clinical models of metastatic breast cancer. The study found that CBD significantly reduced breast cancer cell proliferation and invasion. These are just a few studies addressing the potential of cannabinoids to help treat cancer. Still, it's far too soon to say that CBD is a safe and effective treatment for cancer in humans. CBD shouldn't be considered a substitute for other cancer treatment. Some areas for future research include: the effects of CBD with and without other cannabinoids like THCsafe and effective dosingthe effects of different administration techniqueshow CBD works on specific types of cancerhow CBD interacts with chemotherapy drugs and other cancer treatmen

Consequently, patients should use a combined treatment of THC and CBD for best results. CBD relieves pain, nausea and vomiting a solid reason for people to seek the aid of CBD for cancer. However, CBD also has many other health benefits.Although CBD does not treat cancer, patients use CBD to mitigate pain, nausea, depression and more. However, numerous scientific studies show that its counterpart, THC, does impair cancer growth. As a result, a combination of CBD and THC oil (aka cannabis oil, RSO & weed oil) works as an effective cancer treatment. Conventional drugs, on the other hand, have a poor track record in terms of side effects and overall results.

This book was released on 2019-03-12 with total page 46 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Recent studies have shown that using CBD along with other cannabinoids such as THC slows the growth, or even kills certain kinds of cancer cells that researchers had growing in a science lab. Studies of animals with cancerous cells also suggest that certain properties of medical marijuana could slow the growth of cancer cells and keep it from spreading quickly. The National Cancer Institute states that cannabinoids such as CBD and THC are useful in treating the side effects of cancer, and can ease the pain of some common cancer treatments like chemotherapy. They also state that the effects of medical cannabis could include anti-inflammatory activity, blocking cell growth, preventing the growth of blood vessels that supply tumours, and aiding in antiviral activity. There have also been some early clinical trials of cannabinoids in treating cancer in humans -- and future studies about the potential of medical marijuana as a cancer treatment have been planned. If you are just starting out with CBD oil for Cancer, getting this book would be a good start as it covers all you need to know about the use of CBD oil for Cancer. Book CBD Oil for Cancer and Pain Management A Complete Guide on How to Use CBD Oil to Cure Cancer and Manage Pain

Download or read book CBD Oil for Cancer and Pain Management A Complete Guide on How to Use CBD Oil to Cure Cancer and Manage Pain written by Dr Kate Scott and published by Independently Published. This book was released on 2018-10-04 with total page 68 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Several studies have demonstrated anti-proliferative and pro-apoptotic actions of cannabinoids on various tumours, together with their anti-angiogenic properties. The non-psychoactive cannabinoid cannabidiol (CBD) effectively inhibits the growth of different types of tumours in vitro and in vivo and down-regulates some pro-angiogenic signals produced by glioma cells. As its anti-angiogenic properties have not been thoroughly investigated to date, and given its very favourable pharmacological and toxicological profile, here, we evaluated the ability of CBD to modulate tumour angiogenesis. This book reveals that CBD inhibits angiogenesis by multiple mechanisms. Its dual effect on both tumour and endothelial cells supports the hypothesis that CBD has potential as an effective agent in cancer therapy.

Book Extensive Guide to the Perfect CBD Oil for Liver Cancer

Download or read book Extensive Guide to the Perfect CBD Oil for Liver Cancer written by Dr Patrick Solomon and published by . This book was released on 2019-12-04 with total page 78 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: More than 33,000 cases of liver cancer are diagnosed in the United States each year. It affects more men than women. The vast majority of liver cancer occurs in people older than 45. Worldwide, this disease is one of the leading causes of cancer deaths. Liver cancer, as the name suggests, is a type of cancer that begins in the liver. It should be noted that there is primary liver cancer and secondary liver cancer. Primary liver cancer means the cancer cells first started growing in the liver itself. Over time, these cells can travel across the body through the lymphatic system or the blood and infect other organs of the body. Once other organs are infected and new cancer cells grow, this is known as "secondary cancer." However, the type of cancer cells found in the other organ is still the same as that of primary cancer. It is important to know the difference because the treatment used for cancer will be based on the type of primary cancer. For example, secondary lung cancer that has spread and affected the liver will still be treated using treatments for lung cancer. There is no such thing as routine liver cancer. Every patient's liver cancer is different, with different, individually unique genes and molecules driving each person's specific cancer. The liver is the largest internal organ in the body. It is located on the right side of the abdomen under the lung and is divided into lobes and segments. The liver performs many vital functions such as storing nutrients and filtering and breaking down toxins in the blood. Medical cannabis and cancer is a topic that attracts much attention in the medical community. Cannabinoids such as THC and CBD have already received much praise from patients and physicians for the effective treatment of side effects such as nausea, vomiting and pain. However, research shows that these cannabinoids hide much more power in themselves.Research into the effects of cannabinoids on cancer dates back to the late 1980s, with some studies showing that THC is able to stop the maturation process of damaged cultured liver cells. Since then, an increasing number of studies are trying to capture how cannabinoids can help cure liver cancer with cannabis oil.

Download or read book Cannabis and Cannabinoid Based Medicines in Cancer Care written by Claude Cyr and published by Springer Nature. This book was released on 2022-02-11 with total page 325 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The use of cannabinoid-based medicines (CBM), and cannabis in particular, has risen steadily among cancer and palliative care patients over the last few years. This textbook aims to address the multiple challenges facing healthcare providers regarding the use of CBM in this vulnerable patient population. It provides insight into the latest preclinical and clinical data and offers a practical approach on the use of CBM in a rapidly evolving landscape. It answers questions regarding the prescribing process and elucidates controversies regarding cannabis’ disease-modifying effects. The first chapters will review basic concepts of the endocannabinoid system and pharmacology of CBM, while focusing more specifically on the unique characteristics of two main cannabinoids: THC and CBD. Indicating which benefits can be expected from using either or both of these compounds, the book then addresses issues of drug-drug interactions and other challenges involved in prescribing CBM to frail patients with polypharmacy and multiple comorbidities. Comparing available products, both approved and non-approved by the FDA, the book discusses regional challenges for accessing reliably tested and labelled products in the context of standardization efforts. After carefully determining objectives and addressing patient expectations, further chapters will examine the different clinical settings in which CBM may be useful in cancer care and explore symptom management, including cancer pain, anxiety, nausea, and insomnia among others. The possible benefits of cannabis psychoactivity will also be discussed, including harm reduction strategies for patients who wish to explore these effects. Cannabis and Cannabinoid-Based Medicines in Cancer Care: A Comprehensive Guide to Medical Management serves as a comprehensive text for oncologists, palliative care specialists, general practitioners, and nurse practitioners working with cancer patients or in palliative care settings.

Book excerpt: Research from the University of Wisconsin suggests Cannabidiol as a potent inhibitor of breast cancer cell growth, this due to the antiproliferative activity of anandamide and a reduction of cells during the S phase of the cell cycle. The study points to the activity of cannabidiol on the CB1 receptor to slow down breast carcinoma growth and inhibit its metastatic diffusion. CBD inhibits the growth and induces apoptosis in cancer cells by modulating different cell signals pathways. Apoptosis is a process of program cell death or "cell suicide." During this process cancer cells are divided into small pieces that can be absorbed and recycled into new different cells. Apoptosis normally is a natural cell reaction to prevent cell with damaged DNA, cancer cell or cells infected with a virus to spread out. When a cell DNA is a damage, the cell will try to repair it before sending the apoptosis signal, sometimes cancer cells manage to avoid the apoptosis signal allowing them to spread out. The study suggests the use of cannabidiol for patients not only with breast cancer but also with patients with other types of cancer. The American Association for Cancer Research (AACR) published a research title "Cannabidiol induces programmed cell death in breast cancer by coordinating the cross-talk between Apoptosis and Autophagy" studied CBD interaction between breast cancer cells and healthy cells. One of the objectives of the research was to determine how CBD induces program death cells (PDC) or Apoptosis, to determine more precisely the manner in which CBD kills breast cancer cells to help determine its best use as cancer therapeutic. The research shows that CBD induces PDC regardless of the receptors CB1, CB2 or villanoids. The study found that CBD induces it by both ways by activating the translocation of a gene in the cell mitochondria (t-BID translocation) and by an external stimulation in the form of Fas-L, a death receptor engagement. Additionally, the research found that the CBD inhibits the survival of estrogen receptor-positive and estrogen receptor-negative cancer lines with little to no effect on the mammary cells. This means that CBD kills cancer cells with minimal damage to normal breast cells. The study supports the use of CBD as an alternative for breast cancer treatment. The American Association for cancer research publication supports the results from another study from the California Medical Center that concluded that CBD is the most effective inhibitor of breast cancer proliferation, not only in the earliest stages of cancer but also in the most important step of invasive breast cancer that is the metastasis. The metastasis is the last and final step in breast cancer progression. The finding suggests the effectiveness of CBD in treating breast cancer, not only slowing down the proliferation of cancer cells but also reducing them. The low toxicity of CBD makes it the ideal candidate for chronic administration in patients with metastatic breast cancer. The metastasis phase is characterized by the presence of an inhibitor name Id-1, this inhibitor is an important regulator of the metastatic potential in breast cancer. The study reveals that CBD slows down the proliferation of cancer cells by downregulating the Id-1 inhibitor. It is still unclear the molecular pathway in which CBD inhibits the spread and metastasis of cancer. However, CBD Oil reduces cancer cells growth without fear of a potential side effect. This book gives an account of everything you need to know about cancer, breast cancer, cbd oil, CBD oil dosage for cancer treatment, success stories of people that used cbd oil for treating their cancer and how CBD Oil can be used to treat cancer, how you can get cbd oil online and at retail shops and lots of interesting and informative topics and sub-topics. This book was released on 2019-02-18 with total page 44 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Breast cancer occurs when a malignant (cancerous) tumor originates in the breast. As breast cancer tumors mature, they may metastasize (spread) to other parts of the body. The primary route of metastasis is the lymphatic system which, ironically enough, is also the body's primary system for producing and transporting white blood cells and other cancer-fighting immune system cells throughout the body. Metastasized cancer cells that aren't destroyed by the lymphatic system's white blood cells move through the lymphatic vessels and settle in remote body locations, forming new tumors and perpetuating the disease process.Breast cancer is fairly common. Because of its well publicized nature, and potential for lethality, breast cancer is arguably the most frightening type of cancer diagnosis someone can receive. However, it is important to keep in mind that, if identified and properly treated while still in its early stages, breast cancer can be cured.Breast cancer is not just a woman's disease. It is quite possible for men to get breast cancer, although it occurs less frequently in men than in women. Our discussion will focus primarily on breast cancer as it relates to women but it should be noted that much of the information is also applicable for men.Cannabis oil is a thick, sticky substance composed of cannabinoids, such as THC and CBD, which is obtained from cannabis flowers using a solvent extraction procedure. It is the most concentrated form of cannabis products, which makes cannabis oil the most powerful. The oil can be vaporized into the lungs, ingested orally, applied topically or used as a suppository. It can also be mixed with creams or salves for beauty treatments, and other external uses. The cannabis plant originated from Central Asia, and is one of the oldest, mental stimulating drugs known to mankind. The beginnings of its use are difficult to trace, since the plant was cultivated and consumed long before the appearance of writing. According to archeological discoveries, the cannabis plant has been known in China at least since around 4000 BC.Cannabis, particularly cannabis oil, is a popular topic. Understandably, many people want to try anything that may help treat their own, or a loved one's, cancer - particularly if things are not going well with conventional treatments. Cannabis oil is only one of a number of treatments people might come across. Cannabis oil can contain varying amounts of CBD and THC.Some of the diseases and conditions that cannabis oil has been used for include: Crohn's disease, diabetes, gout, pain relief, glaucoma, migraines, Dravet syndrome, asthma, Doose syndrome, epilepsy, anorexia, rheumatoid arthritis, multiple sclerosis, psoriasis, opioid dependence, strokes, head trauma, Alzheimer's disease, Parkinson's disease, HIV, dementia and - what I will be focusing on - cancer.CBD oil does not contain THC and therefore does not have any psychoactive effects. It can be sold in many countries of the world as long as it is sold as a food supplement and the sellers are not making any claim about its medicinal properties. There are a number of examples where people say that using CBD oil has had a dramatic effect on their health. These are testimony to the efficacy of CBD Oil as an alternative therapy.Get a copy of this book now!
