Book Ninth International Conference on Mathematical Problems in Engineering Aerospace and Sciences

Download or read book Ninth International Conference on Mathematical Problems in Engineering Aerospace and Sciences written by Seenith Sivasundaram and published by Amer Inst of Physics. This book was released on 2012 with total page 1129 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In recent years mathematical problems in engineering, aerospace and sciences have stimulated cooperation among scientists from a variety of disciplines. Developments in computer technology have allowed for solutions of mathematical linear, non-linear problems, while industrial recognition of the use and applications of linear non-linear mathematical models in solving technological problems is increasing. Recognizing the broadness of the new advances in a variety of sub-fields, a well-balanced group of theoretical, computational and experimental engineers, scientists, and mathematicians were carefully selected as invited speakers. Congress has a pool of active researchers with a proper balance between academia and industry as well as between senior and junior researchers including graduate students and post doctorates. This gave rise to exciting scholarly cooperation and collaboration among researchers who usually do not have such interaction, and the congress serve as the most important bi annual event in applied mathematics, aerospace, engineering, and sciences.

Download or read book Robotics written by George Dekoulis and published by BoD – Books on Demand. This book was released on 2017-12-06 with total page 184 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book analyses the legal, ethical and social aspects of using deep-learning AI robotic products. The collective effort of distinguished international researchers has been incorporated into one book suitable for the broader audience interested in the emerging scientific field of roboethics. The book has been edited by Prof. George Dekoulis, Aerospace Engineering Institute, Cyprus, expert on state-of-the-art implementations of robotic systems for unmanned spacecraft navigation and other aerospace applications. We hope this book will increase the sensitivity of all the community members involved with roboethics. The significance of incorporating all aspects of roboethics right at the beginning of the creation of a new deep-learning AI robot is emphasised and analysed throughout the book. AI robotic systems offer an unprecedented set of virtues to the society. However, the principles of roboethical design and operation of deep-learning AI robots must be strictly legislated, the manufacturers should apply the laws and the knowledge development of the AI robots should be closely monitored after sales. This will minimise the drawbacks of implementing such intelligent technological solutions. These devices are a representation of ourselves and form communities like us. Learning from them is also a way to improve ourselves.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Acta Numerica is an annual volume presenting survey papers in numerical analysis. Each year the editorial board selects significant topics and invites papers from authors who have made notable contributions to the development of that topic. The articles are intended to summarize the field at a level accessible to graduate students and researchers. Acta Numerica has proved to be a valuable tool not only for researchers and professionals wishing to develop their understanding of the subject and follow developments, but also as an advanced teaching aid at colleges and universities. Articles in previous volumes have been expanded into both monographs and textbooks, and many of the original articles themselves have been used as the prime resource for graduate courses.
