We have observed but seventeen instances out of cases. Of these, eight were single quartan infections; two were double quartan infections; seven were triple quartan infections. We have never observed continued fever in infections with the quartan parasite. The paroxysms in tertian and quartan fever average between ten and twelve hours in length, estimating the period of time elaps ing while the temperature remains about ninety-nine.
