Results of analyses based on the FFS data for the various countries are presented in the Standard Country Reports. This is the first comprehensive survey of fertility and family in Lithuania. Covering both Europe and North America, the book includes case studies, and contains country-specific contributions on conservative, social-democratic, post-socialist, liberal and familistic welfare regimes, as well as data from the GLOBALIFE project. The present study analyses and offers explanations about this process and compares these developments with the demographic changes that occurred earlier in western Europe.
