Book excerpt: The Ferris family of Milton, Indiana, has a rich and lengthy history dating back to the early 1600s in England. All the links include their religious faiths and how they changed over time from Anglican to Puritan, back to Anglican, to Presbyterian/ Congregational to Quaker to Hicksite Quaker and to Interdenominational (Methodist, Presbyterian, Baptist, United Church of Christ). My wife Maxine and I have belonged to the latter, called Peoples Church, in East Lansing, MI since we were married in1964. Maxine and her parents were members of the United Church of Christ. My parents were Quakers making me a "birthright Quaker," so the Milton, IN, Ferrises have been Quakers for nearly 300 years. $25.00 Genealogy of the Ferris Family of Milton, Indiana John N.
