Book Fatigue of Sintered Materials

Download or read book Fatigue of Sintered Materials written by Srečko Glodež and published by Cambridge Scholars Publishing. This book was released on 2021-05-26 with total page 188 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Powder Metallurgy (PM) is a general term which represents all techniques to produce solid-metal-based products from powders. PM (sintered) components are used widely in the engineering practice, particularly in the automotive industry. When determining the load capacity of dynamically loaded machine parts and structures made of sintered materials, the fatigue behaviour of critical areas should be considered, including crack initiation and the crack propagation period. In this book, the theoretical background of both PM-technology for producing sintered parts and the fatigue phenomenon of dynamically loaded components are described in detail. In the application part, some aspects of the Fe- and Al-powder morphology and its influence on the basic characteristics of sintered products are analysed, before the fatigue behaviour of diffusion alloyed Cu-Ni-Mo sintered steel is presented, considering the additional heat treatment effects on the fatigue strength. Furthermore, the fatigue analysis of sintered gears is also investigated. In that respect, this book represents a significant contribution to the database of the fatigue phenomenon of sintered machine parts and structural components.

Book Sintered Machine Elements

Download or read book Sintered Machine Elements written by Boguslaw Kubicki and published by Prentice Hall PTR. This book was released on 1995 with total page 232 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In response to the need for comprehensive information on sintered materials and the provision of the efficient means of checking on design, this book provides an excellent, detailed reference source for both the user and the researcher. Of particular importance are cyclic loads where the stock of information is noticeably sparse and where the solution to the problems of the work of sinters under conditions of fatigue loads is likely to double the market demand. The hints and advice given by the author provide an excellent reference source for both the user and the researcher when needing accurate and detailed information on the properties of sinters based on iron powders. The book will also be of benefit to graduates in machine design and other metal elements' designers, technical, research and undergraduate levels in metallurgy and materials science.

Book Advances in powder metallurgy

Download or read book Advances in powder metallurgy written by N. Chawla and published by Elsevier Inc. Chapters. This book was released on 2013-08-31 with total page 52 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Sintered ferrous powder metallurgy (PM) components are replacing wrought alloys in many applications, owing to their low cost, high performance and ability to be processed to near-net shape. The fracture and fatigue behavior of these materials is very important. In this chapter the microstructure, tensile and fatigue behavior of sintered steels is reviewed.

Download or read book Mechanical Behaviour of Materials VI written by M. Jono and published by Elsevier. This book was released on 2013-10-22 with total page 3510 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Significant progress in the science and technology of the mechanical behaviour of materials has been made in recent years. The greatest strides forward have occurred in the field of advanced materials with high performance, such as ceramics, composite materials, and intermetallic compounds. The Sixth International Conference on Mechanical Behaviour of Materials (ICM-6), taking place in Kyoto, Japan, 29 July - 2 August 1991 addressed these issues. In commemorating the fortieth anniversary of the Japan Society of Materials Science, organised by the Foundation for Advancement of International Science and supported by the Science Council of Japan, the information provided in these proceedings reflects the international nature of the meeting. It provides a valuable account of recent developments and problems in the field of mechanical behaviour of materials.

Book Cyclic Fatigue in Ceramics

Download or read book Cyclic Fatigue in Ceramics written by Hidehiro Kishimoto and published by Elsevier Science & Technology. This book was released on 1995 with total page 304 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Hardbound. Structural ceramics, such as silicon nitride, silicon carbide, alumina and zirconia have more potential than metallic materials for practical applications to various kinds of engineering components, especially for high temperature applications. For example, automotive engine parts, such as turbocharger rotors and swirl chambers, and ball bearing systems have been produced on a commercial basis using these materials for the last ten years. These industrial motivations have stimulated extensive progress in the research on evaluation of the strength properties of ceramics. In particular, cyclic fatigue has been investigated as one of the major concerns in the design of reliable ceramic components, and many researchers have been engaged in the field of cyclic fatigue in ceramics. As a result, new aspects such as crack bridging, R-curve behavior and fracture morphology have been clarified in the last decade. This book presents in three se
