Book Control and Dynamic Systems V59 Computer Aided Design Engineering Cad Cae Techniques And Their Applications Part 2 of 2

Download or read book Control and Dynamic Systems V59 Computer Aided Design Engineering Cad Cae Techniques And Their Applications Part 2 of 2 written by C.T. Leonides and published by Academic Press. This book was released on 2012-12-02 with total page 345 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Control and Dynamic Systems, Volume 59: Computer-Aided Design/Engineering (CAD/CAE) Techniques and Their Applications Part 2 of 2 is the second of a two-volume sequence that manifests the significance and the power of CAD/CAE techniques that are available and their further development for the essential role they play in the design of modern engineering systems. The volume contains 10 chapters and begins with an in-depth treatment of the essential integration that must exist between design and manufacturing systems. This is followed by separate chapters on object-oriented programming (OOP) and graphical user interface (GUI); technologies that support the CAD/CAE design process, in particular, by means of the PC and the workstation; and the role of a geometrically associative analysis modeler in the design optimization process. Subsequent chapters deal with finite analysis modeling for the integration of CAD/CAE technology and finite element method; the mechanical analysis of two large structures: the world's largest telescope the 8m ESO-VLT and a 3-D nuclear power plant heat exchanger; and techniques for CAD for electromagnetic systems and components. The final chapters cover aircraft structural design; techniques for determining the adequacy of the number of grids (i.e., grid quality control) in computational fluid dynamics (CFD); and techniques or the optimum design of control systems using system model variables and parameters. The contributions to this volume will provide a significant and, perhaps, unique reference source for students, research workers, practicing engineers, and others on the international scene for many years.

Book Dialogue in Foreign Language Education

Download or read book Dialogue in Foreign Language Education written by Monika Kusiak and published by Wydawnictwo UJ. This book was released on 2009-01-15 with total page 151 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Dialogue in foreign language education is a collection of studies that explore topics important in contemporary foreign language education, such as: academic discourse, intercultural communication, the use of information technology, critical reading, the development of communicative skills, anxiety in foreign language learning. Researchers from Poland and abroad discuss the interplay between various factors influencing foreign language learning and teaching. The publication consists of eleven chapters, each followed by comments in which their authors dialogue with the opinions expressed in the chapters. It is our hope that the book will inspire readers to ask questions and pursue new paths along “old, well known” topics concerning foreign language education. … an extremely valuable book; discussing issues that play a crucial role in contemporary foreign language pedagogy, in an interesting way presenting the voices of its contributors … I believe the publication will definitely be welcomed by foreign language teachers, pre-service and in-service trainers, academic teachers as well as teacher trainees and students of foreign language colleges. Book American Popular Music and Its Business in the Digital Age

Download or read book American Popular Music and Its Business in the Digital Age written by Rick Sanjek and published by Oxford University Press. This book was released on 2024-07-19 with total page 697 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: American Popular Music and Its Business in the Digital Age: 1985-2020 by Rick Sanjek is the sequel to his father Russell Sanjek's American Popular Music and Its Business: the First 400 Years. This book offers a detailed and objective history of the popular music industry from the introduction of the compact disc to the shift to streaming, with particular emphasis on the creators, the consumers, and the music business professionals who, in Sanjek's telling, form the three major axes of the industry. Each of the book's three sections--1985-1995, 1996-2006, and 2007-2019--has five chapters covering the same areas and issues. The first chapter in each section outlines the competition between the Big Six music conglomerates, their corporate structures, leadership, finances, and market share. The second chapter traces the synergy between the labels, the retail sector, radio, and the trade magazines whose charts are the pacemaker for the entire industry. Third comes music publishing, licensing, copyright, and legal issues including legislation, litigation, and infringement, followed by a focus on creators and how they earn their money. Each final chapter examines how, how much, and where consumers--who lead in adopting new technology--spend their money. Underlying it all is an insider's perspective on the role that the CD, Napster, Apple, Spotify, YouTube, SoundScan, electronic ticketing, and other innovations had in redefining the business structure and revenue flow of the entire industry. Digital technology also affected the regulations, contracts, and financial transactions that define the complex business of music, as live performance transitioned from clubs, concert halls, and theaters to arenas, amphitheaters, and stadiums. Concurrently, recorded music evolved from analog to digital sound carriers through MP3 downloads and then to on-demand streaming files, ultimately affecting consumers, creators, and the music business infrastructure that connects them. Finally, an epilogue includes the effects of COVID-19 in 2020 on all involved, closing with a glimpse into the digital future with the emergence of TikTok, livestreaming, immersive media, and artificial intelligence.

Book Corpora in the Foreign Language Classroom

Download or read book Corpora in the Foreign Language Classroom written by Encarnación Hidalgo Tenorio and published by Rodopi. This book was released on 2007 with total page 378 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The papers published in this volume reflect the latest developments that have taken place in the field of the teaching applications of text corpora, with a special emphasis on their use in the foreign language classroom. The book is divided into three main sections. The first section sets the scene for what this collection of essays aims to be. It deals with the issue of what corpus linguistics can do not only for the understanding of the nature of language itself but also for so fundamental and miraculous a matter such as language learning and language acquisition. The second section tackles the issues of corpus design and corpus exploitation and provides the reader with a great variety of evidence in favour of corpora exploitation for the building of a successful teaching environment. The final section deals with practical applications of corpora in the foreign language classroom.
