Download or read book Family Lineage and Descendants of Captain John Bishop I and Elizabeth Ann Booker of Virginia and North Carolina written by Dawn D Boyer, PH D and published by . This book was released on 2021-01-21 with total page 568 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Family Lineage and Descendants of Captain John Bishop, I and Elizabeth Ann Booker of Virginia and North Carolina. This book provides a lineage of John Bishop (b. 1612 d. 1658), and his wife, Elizabeth Ann Booker, (b. 1604 d. 1656) down through history to more modern-day descendants who were born as recently as the 1900s and living predominately in Alamance, Carteret, Craven, Durham, New Hanover, and Person Counties, North Carolina; Baldwin, Sumter, and Washington Counties, Alabama; Comanche, Donley, Erath, Fisher, Rusk, Stephens, Tom Green, and Throckmorton Counties, Texas; Albuquerque, New Mexico; Hinds County, Mississippi; Pettis County, Missouri; Alexandria, Virginia; Brevard and Manatee Counties, Florida; and Butler County, Pennsylvania. If you are a serious or hobby genealogist, and researching this surname's lineage, this book could provide you some lineage data and vital statistics information you have been seeking to link your family. Use the information in this book to research and find the primary documents that showcase your ancestor's place in history. Included in this lineage book is an index of names and resources citations for primary, secondary, or tertiary sources for confirmation of research data. Many of the citations are from county books, personal family stories, family bibles, birth and death certificates, US census data, and then comparatively researched against federal, state, or local certifications, as well as online via FindAGrave, Ancestry, and BillionGraves - to name a few. YOU WILL WANT TO BUY MORE THAN ONE COPY OF THIS BOOK! Why? You will want one copy to create a scrapbook collection of your personal copies of primary ancestry data (birth and death certificates, copies of marriage registries, photos) in a three-ring binder or scrapbook. Adding more documentation for an ancestor and building a picture of your family makes your research more impactful. You will want a second copy as a 'write in the margins' reference tool you take on your research journeys to libraries, book archives, book stores, and collections (e.g., history museums). One seldom is able to carry a computer or have fingertip databases available in these research trips, so using the book to compare notes can help you when you return home to record your findings. You will want multiple copies to gift to your family members. ABOUT THE AUTHOR: Dawn D. Book Descendants of Pocahontas and John Rolfe

Download or read book Descendants of Pocahontas and John Rolfe written by Dawn Denise Boyer and published by Createspace Independent Publishing Platform. This book was released on 2012-05-07 with total page 0 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book is a compendium of sources, bibliographies, lineage and ancestry charts, as well as Internet-based data resources. It will never be complete. I am hoping to add more data and family information over the next few years, as I come across it, and welcome any new data from new sources or family members. Descendants of Pocahontas and John Rolfe have become one of the most vitally involved First Families of Virginia (FFV) in the history of the United States. The family, and the families into which they have married, include local, state, national, and international political arenas. Descendants were judges, members of the Continental Congress, United States and State Senators and Representatives, and were members of families by blood or marriage to numerous Presidents of the United States. Family men were involved in practically every battle and war in United States history, and ranks ranged from infantryman up to Captains, Colonels, Majors, and Commodores, as well as serving on both sides of the Civil War. Family members have served in the United States Senate and House of Representatives, as state Governors, as well as diplomats to foreign countries, including Russia. The descendants or their spouses have served as doctors, scholars, church leaders, college presidents, founders of fraternal organizations, as well as married into descendants of European royalty.

Book Captain John Browning

    Book Details:
  • Author : Jess Browning
  • Publisher : CreateSpace
  • Release : 2015-04-02
  • ISBN : 9781511577038
  • Pages : 294 pages

Download or read book Captain John Browning written by Jess Browning and published by CreateSpace. This book was released on 2015-04-02 with total page 294 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Captain John Browning was born about 1588 in England, and died about 1662. He allegedly married about the year 1614. Children were George and William in addition to accounts of other children including a Thomas. Sometime around the year 1621, he and his family left England for Virginia where his descendants supposedly established a line of descendants that could be found throughout America. His ancestors go back hundreds of years, primarily in the counties of Gloucestershire and Dorset in England. The interesting thing about him is that there is more speculation and less known about him than of many people in history. This Second Edition is much enlarged and its index contains full names of thousands persons other than Browning as well as subject names. The endnotes reference many of the sources. The Gloucestershire Berkeley family had a large influence on Browning's both in England and Virginia and this work should be viewed as a theory of family history or historical fiction (sometimes hysterical fiction). It is sad that thousands of genealogical records are based on bad information. It is hoped that any citations of this work be done with the proper caveats. Appendixes E and F provides summaries of Captain John's ancestors and descendants from 1255 to 1681 which may or may not prove to be true with improved DNA data and testing. The book also looks at Brown and Browne names for linkages in times where few Browning records were available in Virginia. It uncovered more Browning locations in some Virginia locations where matching Brown and Browne families lived.

Book excerpt: The Family Lineage of John Small, Sr. and Descendants of England, Virginia, and North Carolina provides a lineage of FirstLastName who was born between 1600 and 1635 in Salisbury, County Wiltshire, England, down through history to more modern-day descendants who were born as recently as the 1900's and living predominately in Massachusetts, Virginia, and North Carolina, USA. If you are a serious or hobby genealogist, and researching the Small lineage, this book could provide you some lineage data and vital statistics information you have been seeking to link your family or surname to this line of Smalls. The family lineage published here are compilations of years of transcriptions from multiple resources, personal family interviews, ancestor's compilations, county history books, online and Internet genealogy groups, and other library database or book resources. The author spent over 20 years compiling the information in this publication for this specific family surname, as well as hundreds of other surnames that interlinked and intertwined to the author's own family and ancestry surnames. Do enjoy the fruits of the research to expand the reader's knowledge of this family surname. As noted on the copyright page, any errors may result from human transcription mistakes, original data having errors or omissions, or even some 'software burps' or data entry errors (e.g., a husband may have been entered as a spouse twice, thus shows up as a duplicate). The author suggests that genealogy researchers take the information in this book and use it as a 'with a grain of salt' baseline to further research on their own to confirm all the data in this publication against their own.
