Book The International Survey of Family Law

Download or read book The International Survey of Family Law written by Andrew Bainham and published by Martinus Nijhoff Publishers. This book was released on 1998-02-05 with total page 542 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The "International Survey of Family Law," published on behalf of the International Society of Family Law, is the successor to the Annual Survey of Family Law'. It provides information, analysis and comment on recent developments in Family Law across the world on a country-by- country basis. The "Survey" is published annually and its subtitle reflects the calendar year surveyed. Where a country has been regularly surveyed each year, the developments discussed correspond to the year in question. If certain countries have not been surveyed for some years the contributions will usually attempt to cover the intervening period. This applies, for example, in the present volume to the contributions relating to China and Turkey. If countries are being covered for the first time, then more background information will be provided about the state of family law in the country in question. The "Survey" also contains an article dealing with the more significant developments in international law affecting the family.

Book Legislative and Regulatory Reform Bill

Download or read book Legislative and Regulatory Reform Bill written by Great Britain: Parliament: Delegated Powers and Regulatory Reform Committee and published by The Stationery Office. This book was released on 2006-06-07 with total page 72 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The Legislative and Regulatory Reform Bill contains provisions to increase the scope of regulatory reform powers (following a review undertaken by the Better Regulation Task Force) in order to tackle red tape and unnecessary regulatory burdens, building on the powers of the Regulatory Reform Act 2001. The Committee examines the provisions of the Bill as brought to the Lords in May 2006 (HLB 109, session 2005-06; ISBN 0108422399) which it finds to have been changed significantly since the Bill was first introduced into the Commons in January 2006. Although the Committee finds that the Bill proposes the greatest delegation of power to Ministers that it has seen, it does not find the regulatory reform provisions inappropriate, although it questions whether the 2001 Act could not itself have been amended. The provisions relating to consolidation, simplification and implementation of Law Commission recommendations are found to be unsuitable for delivery by delegated legislation and it is suggested that primary legislation subject to special procedure would be a better option to legislate for such purposes.

Book Family Law

  • Release : 2012-12-06
  • ISBN : 1135992584
  • Pages : 257 pages

Download or read book Family Law written by Jonathan Herring and published by Routledge. This book was released on 2012-12-06 with total page 257 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book provides a stimulating, carefully planned introduction to the key issues and debates within family law from some of the leading authorities within their field. It is designed both as a self standing book focusing on the key issues in the subject, and as a supplement to more detailed textbooks on the subject. It is essential reading for anybody studying or practising in the field of family law. Each chapter is concerned with one of the main areas of family law (such as adoption, domestic violence, marrriage and divorce), and covers a range of themes, including the public/private divide, balancing the interests of family members, moral values and family law, cost and the legal system, and the enforcement of family law. The book reflects the interdisciplinary nature of the debates on family law, and the difficult social and political issues which these have raised.
