We ignore God at our peril, for He is real, and yes, He is a God of incredible love and beauty, yet He shall also not be mocked. It is time to wake up, to seek Him, for time is running out.

Yes, there is a profane fire burning on the altars build on the spiritual high places. An increasing level of idolatry and spiritual apostasy plagues the world and the church. The fire of idolatry has swept through churches for a long time, consuming and destroying. It is the profane fire. An unholy fire. Who shall contain the fire? It is time for the church to earnestly address idolatry in her midst, for idolatry is an abomination in the eyes of God. God alone shall be worshipped. He should be our highest devotion and our heart’s desire above all. Idolatry is not a trivial matter, as Israel discovered. God is calling for concerted and real action from the church to address idolatry, for our God is a jealous God, and He is an all-consuming fire. He must be our First Love, nothing else, and certainly no one else, including the self.

The Bible must be treated by disciples as all-sufficient and inerrant (without error) to lead us, guide us, teach us and show us the way and the will of God. The Word of God is real, alive, and powerful and the final authority on God’s will. As believers of God, we must know the Word, study it, love it, cherish it and abide by it for it is the source of eternal life, faith, salvation, freedom, spiritual food, growth, blessedness, purity, guidance, comfort, spiritual victory, assurance and of joy. May we know it to find our purpose and the meaning of life according to a great and awesome God.

The words date back to Israel’s bondage while staying in Exodus. God chose Moses to speak to the Pharaoh to let His people go to worship Him. The children of God are of course not living under the rule of a Pharaoh, but over the years I was made to understand there are many spiritual pharaohs, Sadducees and Pharisees in churches who are holding God’s children in bondage. They do so by spinning their web of lies, enslaving instead of empowering. They rule and lord, instead of making true disciples who follow not them but only Jesus. The subtitle to this book is ‘Exodus out of Religious Entrapment’. As explored in many of my other books, especially in the Perilous Times series, we follow not a religion, but a faith. And such faith is based on a relationship with a living and loving God. God is calling us to come out of religion, meaning the man-made rules, programmes, ideas, traditions and agendas as formulated by man. Religion ultimately enslaves and dethrones, while a relationship with God empowers and enthrones, meaning we learn to be true children of God. The religion we know as Christianity, or more correctly Churchianity, has sadly morphed into a pseudo-religion of new-age teachings saturated with occult and selfish desires and ambitions. Apostasy lurks around every corner and in the shadows of the pulpit. When we fall into the pitfalls of religion we then choose a path of entrapment and slavery. It is time to come out of such enslavement and into the glorious liberty of Jesus. Yes, it is time to let God’s people to go so they may worship Him in Spirit and Truth!

Book excerpt: When Jesus departed to be with His eternal Father, He gave the church (the ecclesia) a clear mission statement in Matthew 28, which speaks of the Great Commission. And what is the Great Commission, therefore, the mission? Go and make disciples so that the world may be told of Jesus and, therefore, be saved. Some will say some translations never speak of making disciples, but rather to teach all nations, “baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost”. But is the purpose of teaching the nations of Christ not to make disciples? If one teaches someone about Jesus, you are surely equipping them to be a follower of Jesus. And such a follower is a disciple. We are called in God's wisdom and by His Spirit to teach all people about Jesus, for the purpose of making disciples. It doesn’t happen automatically. It will take a concerted and decisive effort of the Bride of God. Time is, however, slipping away to get our house in order with God, and now is the time to do so. We are living in the last days, and the day of the Lord’s coming is at hand. Billions of people are still lost in every city, town, and village across the world. There is no more time to be playing church or to be consumed with our agendas. We need to come into alignment with God, seek Him, and be awake from our slumber. The church has been slumbering for a long time, lulled into sleep by a false sense of security, peace and a sense of accomplishment. Yet there is a mission to complete, which is the Great Commission. It is God’s mission of bringing in the harvest of the lost and broken. Now is the time to get busy with God’s business, and His business is about salvation, redemption and restoration. The call to the church to actively engage in this mission, therefore, to make the main thing the main thing, is covered in volumes one and two.

Trouble was near, and there was no one to help him (Psalm 22:11). Despite these fearsome circumstances, David knew that God was not far off. God could deliver David’s soul from these threats. God is raising an end-time remnant for a time such as this. They obey God and not man. They fear not the devil. They listen to God, follow His truth and seek His will. They dismiss the devil’s lies and choose to stand with the Light as darkness continues to intensify upon the earth. Yes, they shall overcome the bulls of Bashan (demonic and worldly threats and dangers). This end-time remnant is facing extreme attack, and I believe more than ever since the resurrection of Jesus. Ultimately, if we as children of God want to survive the bulls of Bashan – the spiritual and the physical ‘giants’ - we need to abide in the Lord. We need to remain connected to the Vine (John 15). We need to become true disciples, grow up in the Spirit, and grow in God’s wisdom, truth and knowledge. If we are not grounded in the Lord, we will be swept away by the storms and be gorged by the bulls. After all, these bulls are waiting for an opportunity to strike. It is critical to remain connected to God, for then we are connected to life, hope, vision, joy and life!

It is not God’s Will that any soul should perish, but that all men should come to the knowledge of God and be saved. God is calling on all believers to cast their net in the deep for the harvest of souls.

Wisdom is not just knowledge, but “know how.” It enables us how the follow God’s will and to know how to move in His Spirit at all times. Thus, we don’t just need knowledge, but we need God’s wisdom to conduct our lives to His honour all day!

An awesome God who is not distant, but a God who wants a personal relationship with us. Yes, we can hear from God as His children. There is no simple formula, but it boils down to relationship, fellowship, intimacy, and willing to follow and listen.
