Book Faith Love and Sex

Download or read book Faith Love and Sex written by Somtochukwu Ume and published by Xlibris Corporation. This book was released on 2012-10 with total page 71 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book is about the three common words we normally say, their meaning and their impacts in our daily lives. Many Christians use the word faith often but only few truly have it. This book will teach you more about faith, the application, importance and how we can apply it in our daily lives. As human beings we need faith to help us stay strong in stormy times. Another important topic discussed in this book is "love". In our world today, love is the most common word used. We use it mostly on daily basis; we understand and define it in so many ways but only few know the true meaning of it. I have seen many occasions where a guy will meet a girl for the first time and start prophesying how much love he has for the girl. Some people believe in love at first sight, I'm not against it, I know something will get you attracted from somebody before you can make a move, but that atraction doesn't mean you love the person, is only being close with someone that you will get to develop real love. Real love develops is not based on physical attraction. Another important word discussed is sex. Nobody in this life can tell me he/she has never heard of sex. Sex is everywhere. This book will teach you some things you have to know about sex; it is not something you haven't heard of, but teachings in biblical way.

Download or read book Living in Love and Faith written by The Church of England and published by Church House Publishing. This book was released on 2020-11-09 with total page 399 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Issues of gender and sexuality are intrinsic to people’s experience: their sense of identity, their lives and the loving relationships that shape and sustain them. The life and mission of the Church of England – and of the worldwide Anglican Communion – are affected by the deep, and sometimes painful, disagreements about these matters, divisions brought into sharper focus because of society’s changing perspectives and practices, especially in relation to LGTBI+ people. Living in Love and Faith sets out to inspire people to think more deeply both about what it means to be human, and to live in love and faith with one another. It tackles the tough questions and the divisions among Christians about what it means to be holy in a society in which understandings and practices of gender, sexuality and marriage continue to change. Commissioned and led by the Bishops of the Church of England, the Living in Love and Faith project has involved many people across the Church and beyond, bringing together a great diversity and depth of expertise, conviction and experience to explore these matters by studying what the Bible, theology, history and the social and biological sciences have to say. After a Foreword from the Archbishops of Canterbury and York, the book opens with an invitation from the Bishops of the Church of England to embark on a learning journey in five parts: Part One sets current questions about human identity, sexuality, relationships and marriage in the context of God’s gift of life. Part Two takes a careful and dispassionate look at what is happening in the world with regard to identity, sexuality, relationships and marriage. Part Three explores current Christian thinking and discussions about human identity, sexuality, and marriage. In the light of the good news of Jesus Christ, how do Christians understand and respond to the trends observed in Part Two? Part Four considers what it means for us as individuals and as a church to be Christ-like when it comes to matters of identity, sexuality, relationships and marriage. Part Five invites the reader into a conversation between some of the people who have been involved in writing this book who, having engaged with and written Parts One to Four, nevertheless come to different conclusions. Amid the biblical, theological, historical and scientific exploration, each part includes Encounters with real, contemporary disciples of Christ whose stories raise questions which ask us to discern where God is active in human lives. The book ends with an appeal from the Bishops to join them in a period of discernment and decision-making following the publication of Living in Love and Faith. The Living in Love and Faith book is accompanied by a range of free digital resources including films, podcasts and an online library, together with Living in Love and Faith: The Course, a 5-session course which is designed to help local groups engage with the resources, also published by Church House Publishing.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book is the first to scientifically demonstrate that most issues affecting love between men and women can only be resolved with high effectiveness if both individuals believe in God. This applies to both emotional problems and their physiological implications. The chapters of this book span medicine, philosophy, and emotional literature. Every solution provided within has an immediate impact on improving your life upon application, because it is derived not from fanciful contemplations but has been translated into many languages due to its proven remarkable effectiveness in reality for everyone who has sincerely applied it. Today, most romantic relationships worldwide are either failures, or their participants are merely content with them, believing that the modest happiness they experience is the limit of what a relationship between a man and a woman can offer. " Do not fear, my love, for your beauty shall never escape my praises that carry our union to the heavens. For our union is a shrine of worship to the Almighty. And our night is sacred, like the night of all worshippers. And I shall never believe the words of the atheists, that you are but a cell, and that our union is merely hunger and desire..."

Book Why Does God Care Who I Sleep With

Download or read book Why Does God Care Who I Sleep With written by Sam Allberry and published by Oxford Apologetics. This book was released on 2020-03 with total page pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Answers one of the biggest barriers to belief. Christians are increasingly seen as outdated, restrictive and judgmental when it comes to sex before marriage, cohabitation and homosexuality. In fact for many people, this issue is one of the biggest barriers for them considering Christianity. Sam Allberry, author of many books including Is God Anti-gay sets out God's good design for the expression of human sexuality, showing that God himself is love and that only he can satisfy our deepest desires. It is a great reminder of the Bible's positive blueprint for love, sex and marriage and ideal for giving away to people who may see this as a stumbling block for belief.

But real life-like the average, every day woman-is full of curves and imperfections, and many opportunities to learn that it's not the number on the scale that measures the capacity of your heart. After years of struggling with poor self esteem and too many crash diets to count, I finally got wise-and hired a trainer. With an enthusiastic push from my brother's fiance and more motivation than a Joel Osteen sermon, I, Madeline "Leni" Moore, am ready to ditch the oh-woe-is-me act. That is, until I smack head-on into a tree and collide with him. Lane Sheffield is the guy you drool over from afar. One look at him the first day on the runner's track, and my panties are up in flames. He's out of my league. Slim, sleek, and athletic to my plump, dull, and unfit. Lane has no reason to like me, but to my utter shock . . . he does and this newfound attention from the opposite sex has me all sorts of baffled. What starts out as a healthy journey to lose some of the extra me, turns into a quest to find my true self. Will the need to fit in and finally have someone to call my own lead me to my weight loss goal or my happiness goal? I've focused so long on being skinny, what will it take for me to learn the ultimate lesson-that beauty is only skin deep?"

Download or read book The Triumph of Love written by Eric Reitan and published by Wipf and Stock Publishers. This book was released on 2017-07-31 with total page 306 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Recent years have witnessed an astonishing cultural and legal shift when it comes to homosexuality and same-sex marriage. Many Christians see these changes as a defeat for Christian values, often painting Christian opponents as sell-outs to secular culture. But can there be a genuinely Christian case for same-sex marriage? This book makes that case. While sensitive to scriptural issues, it focuses on a question that cannot be answered by Scripture alone: What does love for our gay and lesbian neighbors demand? This question calls us to pair theological, philosophical, and scriptural reflection with something else: attention to gay and lesbian lives. We must attend to the psychological research and, more importantly, to the stories our gay and lesbian neighbors tell us about themselves and their experience. Love does not permit us to plug our ears with Bible verses. While this book argues that Christian love calls us to make same-sex marriage available, the deeper conclusion is that Christian values prevail when we wrestle with these questions in a spirit of love: love for those with whom we disagree, and love for those most affected by the decisions we reach.

Download or read book The Meaning Of Sex written by Christopher Doyle, MA LPC LCPC and published by Christian Faith Publishing, Inc.. This book was released on 2018-03-20 with total page 228 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In the midst of a culture where sex and gender issues are rampant, two common viewpoints exist. Unfortunately, they are both extreme. While there is an effort in the church to minister to the sexually broken, many places of worship have adopted a strict ethic that leads to a fear-based attitude towards those struggling with sexuality and gender identity. This has caused strugglers to feel alienated and wounded from the church. On the other hand, secular culture has adopted the sexual liberation message: "If it feels good, do it." Sadly, this idea has permeated the hearts and minds of too many Christians. As a result, issues such as homosexuality, gender identity confusion, and sex outside of marriage have become battlegrounds of division among the Body of Christ. With all of this discord, how do we find the true meaning of sex? In The Meaning of Sex: A New Christian Ethos, Christopher Doyle offers a compassionate and bold philosophy on how to love thy neighbor within the confines set forth by our Savior, who holds us when we struggle, loves us when we fall, and celebrates with us when we experience victory. When we collectively pursue the wholeness Jesus calls us to, the sexual ethics that bind us becomes a higher ethos that unites us. Only then, as we bare our souls to each other and become vulnerable with our own unique wounds, can we meet our struggling brothers and sisters where they are and journey towards emotional wholeness and spiritual maturity. "The Meaning of Sex: A New Christian Ethos is a masterful synthesis of Christian theology and the social sciences that has the potential to radically transform our culture in positive ways." ~ Michelle A. Cretella, M.D. (President, American College of Pediatricians) "Christopher Doyle effectively challenges cultural constructs that have led Christians away from the questions that we need to be asking, connecting the dots between a biblical narrative of sexuality and what is revealed in nature and through scientific inquiry." ~ Professor Carolyn Pela, Ph.D., LMFT (Chair, Department of Behavioral and Social Sciences, Arizona Christian University)
