Book Faith Grace and Conquering the Impossible

Download or read book Faith Grace and Conquering the Impossible written by Brooke Ryan and published by WestBow Press. This book was released on 2017-02-13 with total page 152 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Certainly, she must be crazy! I know they were thinking it. I stood there, cradling my newborn baby, and announced to my family and friends that I wanted to go to medical school. OK, so I have a baby...and I am nineteen...and I am not married. Can’t there be a way to make this happen? The baby changed everything, but they did not understand what that really meant to me. I am not sure I understood where that would lead me, but I knew that God had something in mind for me that I could not even begin to comprehend yet. He understood that I would need an incentive to find my full potential, and this would require digging through the mire of dysfunction that led me to this place. He would need to help me learn to truly forgive those who hurt me and to let the anger go. He would need to help me pick up the broken pieces in order for me to help others in their brokenness. He would have to remake me. This is the story of how the Lord brought me through growing up in a divided home plagued by domestic violence and fueled by my stepfather’s binge alcoholism, how He brought me through single parenthood, and how He placed me on the road to achieving my elusive goal. The road was difficult, and complicated by lots of other annoying things, like three operations for cancer, and being hit by a car! However, nothing is impossible for God! Through faith, and by His Grace, He helped me to conquer the impossible!

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Gods Grace Empowers You To Do The Impossible! You have probably heard grace defined as Gods unmerited favor and that is absolutely true, but it is so much more. Grace is the power that God willingly gives us to help us do what we could never do on our own. When God said to Paul, My grace is sufficient for you, He was giving Paul His power to be set free from the thorn that was buffeting him. However, Paul had to understand how to use Gods grace in order to be set free.In this fresh new outlook on grace, Dr. Larry Ollison shares how to approach the throne of grace with confidence and boldness and find the power to overcome things you could never overcome in your own strength-even works of the flesh. Grace is not a license to sin, but rather it empowers us to be able to say no to sin and temptation. In this book you will come away with a deeper understanding of this wonderful gift that God has given to the Church. His free gift of grace is sufficient and more than enough to meet any situation you face.

Book Did You Receive the Holy Spirit When You Believed Acts 19 2

Download or read book Did You Receive the Holy Spirit When You Believed Acts 19 2 written by Bob McArthur and published by WestBow Press. This book was released on 2011-06-08 with total page 192 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Do you know how to lead someone to Christ? This book will make you think again. Do you know the gospel message? Do you know the purpose for church leaders? Are you fully birthed into the family of God? Did you receive the Holy Spirit when you believed? Think again. That is what this book will challenge you to do. The Rev. Paul Hoyt, a retired Church of the Nazarene pastor, said of the book, My mind is being challenged and stretched. The question is simply, What does the Bible say about how New Testament believers became Christians? What were their experiences, and what does the Bible say they believed and understood about those experiences? This book will challenge you to rethink commonly held positions and universally understood practices and beliefs. Dont be alarmed. This book is completely Jesus-focused. The age-old biblical truths about Christ are not being challenged. Jesus is God, the second person of the triune Godhead, born of a virgin, crucified and resurrected bodily and spiritually to new life. His blood cleanses mankind of all sin, no one comes to God except through Him, and the Bible is the Word of God. But the evangelistic message and experiences of the Bible of those early believers about this saving Jesus should correspond to the thought and practice of present-day evangelism. The disparity, however, might surprise you. This book will help the Church get back to a New Testament evangelism that has somehow been lost along the way.

Book Hebrews

  • Author : John F. MacArthur
  • Publisher : HarperChristian Resources
  • Release : 2016-06-28
  • ISBN : 0718035348
  • Pages : 142 pages

Download or read book Hebrews written by John F. MacArthur and published by HarperChristian Resources. This book was released on 2016-06-28 with total page 142 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Pastor John MacArthur will take you through the book of Hebrews, passage by passage, so that you can better understand the author's message, the cultural context, and the perfect sufficiency of Christ. The early Jewish believers had come from a background of legalism and works. When God came to earth in human flesh as the New Covenant, these believers discovered the freedom they could have in Jesus and the relationship they could enjoy with Him. Yet in the midst of persecution and rejection, they were often tempted to hold on to the former symbols, rituals, and traditions grounded in the requirements of the Old Covenant. The unknown author of Hebrews sought to address this problem by contrasting the Old and New Covenants, brilliantly showing that Christ is higher than any Old Testament character, priest, ritual, or sacrifice. Because of Jesus' life, death, and resurrection, He is the perfect sacrifice and our own High Priest. And He has given all believers unfettered access to God! —ABOUT THE SERIES— The MacArthur Bible Study series is designed to help you study the Word of God with guidance from widely respected pastor and author John MacArthur. Each guide provides intriguing examinations of the whole of Scripture by examining its parts and incorporates: Extensive, but straight-forward commentary on the text. Detailed observations on overriding themes, timelines, history, and context. Word and phrase studies to help you unlock the broader meaning and apply it to your life. Probing, interactive questions with plenty of space to write down your response and thoughts.

Book excerpt: What does it really mean to be broken? To be fractured or damaged and no longer in one piece, or in working order, or to have given up all hope. Have we not all felt this way at some point in our lives? Sometimes it was one major blow shattering us into a million pieces. Other times, it was many small cracks slowly breaking us down. Maybe right now you have been hit and you are falling apart or you are just feeling your purpose slowly drift from your hands. Maybe this happened recently or maybe it was years ago. Whatever your circumstances, we were not created to live this way. Although our bodies, minds, and spirits may be attacked daily, there is a way to piece ourselves back together. There is a way to find purpose for our lives and to reignite a passion for a more meaningful life. I do not possess a magic potion or equation capable of producing a higher level of living, but I know someone who does contain the answer and I found it more correctly stated, I found Him.

Book Reformed Systematic Theology Volume 3

Download or read book Reformed Systematic Theology Volume 3 written by Joel Beeke and published by Crossway. This book was released on 2021-12-01 with total page 1061 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: "Here is catechesis at its best, instructing the student of theology, providing pastors with a sermon-enriching manual, and giving growing Christians a resource book that will both inform and nourish them, as well as provide endless theological enjoyment!" — Sinclair B. Ferguson, Chancellor's Professor of Systematic Theology, Reformed Theological Seminary; Teaching Fellow, Ligonier Ministries The aim of systematic theology is to engage not only the head but also the heart and hands. Only recently has the church compartmentalized these aspects of life—separating the academic discipline of theology from the spiritual disciplines of faith and obedience. This multivolume work brings together rigorous historical and theological scholarship with spiritual disciplines and practical insights—characterized by a simple, accessible, comprehensive, Reformed, and experiential approach. In this volume, Joel R. Beeke and Paul M. Smalley unpack the work and role of the Holy Spirit (Pneumatology) and salvation (soteriology). The authors examine the Holy Spirit's role in the history of salvation, the order of salvation, and the believers' experience of salvation. As readers consider the interrelationship between the Spirit and salvation, they are invited to explore the direct activity of the Lord in their lives for their salvation.
