Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: During forty years of caring for districts of churches and isolated believers, besides raising up new churches by evangelistic effort, the author of this work became greatly impressed with the need of educating the people in the fundamental doctrines of the Holy Scriptures. He has found very few who could give from the word of God an intelligent reason for even its most prominent and important truths. This spiritual poverty any minister will discover by personal investigation. When we add to this condition the fact that during the past thirty years new errors have been stealthily introduced among Christians generally--errors which undermine the very foundations of Bible truth and Christianity--it becomes evident that even professing Christians are unprepared for the crises they will be obliged to meet in the near future.

Book Facts That Call for Faith

Download or read book Facts That Call for Faith written by David Gregg and published by . This book was released on 2015-07-12 with total page 316 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Excerpt from Facts That Call for Faith: A Series of Discourses In sixteen most attractive discourses, now first gathered in permanent book from, Dr. Gregg has set forth the great fundamental facts in which religion finds its basis. He calls these most appropriately, "Facts that call for Faith." The first fact is God, made known to faith, but no less a fact whether acknowledged by us or not. The second fact is Christ, the manifestation of God, but a fact whether or not we consider the manifestation. In like manner the Bible is a fact, and the Church, and the Lord's Day, an established institution. Then turning to man, he considers the Testimony of Human Experience, the world-wide practice of prayer, rising in Christian practice into an intelligent and loving appeal which knows it has its answer. Natural experience ends in Death, but what is darkness to the unbeliever becomes the occasion for the believer's most triumphant victory over doubt. Other facts that call for faith are Regeneration, Justification, the Resurrection of Christ, and Immortality; while the theme is further developed in the discussion of Christians of Power, Conditions of Receiving the Spirit, Thomas the Sceptic, and Christian Character. The more we see what the Bible reveals, or have personal experience of worship and prayer and trial, the more we see that revelation and experience call for faith, and are fitted to make it grow when once aroused. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Today's neurological research has placed habit at the center of human behavior; we are what we do repetitively. When we want to add something to our life, whether it's exercise, prayer, or just getting up earlier in the morning, we know that we must turn an activity into a habit through repetition or it just won't stick. What would happen if we applied the same kind of daily dedication to faith? Could faith become a habit, a given--automatic? With vulnerable storytelling and insightful readings of both Old and New Testament passages, Jen Pollock Michel invites the convinced and the curious into a 40-day Bible reading experience. Vividly translating ancient truths for a secular age, Michel highlights how the biblical text invites us to see, know, live, love, and obey. The daily reflection questions and weekly discussion guides invite both individuals and groups, believers and doubters alike, to explore how faith, even faith as small as a mustard seed, might grow into a life-defining habit.

  • ISBN : 9781937578312

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The principle of calling things that are not as though they were is the spiritual principle through which everything physical becomes manifest. God created the light by calling for "light" when only darkness was there. Jesus used this same method, calling the lepers clean, and the dead to life, and peace to the storm. You must call for what you desire. if you want your dog to come, you call the dog, not the cat. You call for what is not there. Whatever you call in the natural will come. Call what does not exist and continue to call until it manifests.
