Book The Large Group Facilitator s Manual

Download or read book The Large Group Facilitator s Manual written by Kerry Napuk and published by Routledge. This book was released on 2017-05-15 with total page 201 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Most organizations are adept at using small groups - witness the widespread use of teams. Yet, how do you work with 20 to 500 people at a time? How would you involve all stakeholders in a critical issue or the organization's future? How can you generate contributions, consensus and commitment from the bottom up? People want to contribute but often are frustrated through a lack of opportunity or means. Large Group Processes allow people to participate over things that matter to them. Participation leads to commitment and commitment to ownership. Working with large groups is relatively new, but these processes are proving very effective with positive outcomes. Audiences can be customized with stakeholders who might be inside or outside the organization, such as employees, customers, suppliers, shareholders, the general public and any other interested parties. Applications are wide-ranging, touching on almost every aspect of organizational life. The Large Group Facilitator's Manual offers you a blueprint for planning, preparing, running and reporting successful large group events. The authors walk you through six different processes from concept to step-by-step facilitation with sample invitations, checklists and even scripts. It is the first facilitator's guide to cover so many processes with such detailed instructions.

Book Entering Research A Facilitator s Manual

Download or read book Entering Research A Facilitator s Manual written by Janet L. Branchaw and published by WH Freeman. This book was released on 2010-03-19 with total page 0 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The Entering Research workshops offer a mechanism to structure the independent research experience. These workshops introduce students to the culture of research, teaching valuable research skills, and alleviating some of the work of faculty and lab personnel associated with mentoring novice researchers. For students whose experience with science has been primarily in the classroom, it can be difficult to identify and contact potential mentors, and to navigate the transition to a one-on-one, mentor-student relationship. This is especially true for those who are new to research, or who belong to groups that are underrepresented in research. The Entering Research workshops can assist you in helping students overcome these challenges. The materials in this manual can easily be adapted for a number of venues, including individual, one-time workshops; intensive summer research programs for undergraduates or pre-college students; professional development workshops for beginning graduate students; or as a way to support students working in an individual faculty member's research group.

These changes have made the programs less effective. One must, however, maintain the principles used in the programs when changing the delivery of the programs to suit the culture. The purpose of The TWI Facilitator's Guide: How to Use the TWI Programs Successfully is to prevent the TWI programs from falling into misuse and disuse. This book will explain the main principles of the TWI programs and what they can accomplish, but it will also stress what they are not. Download or read book Peer to peer Training Facilitator s Guide written by Michele N. Costanza and published by . This book was released on 2009 with total page 96 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The peer-to-peer (P2P) training approach involves small groups of people from similar social groupings, who are not professional teachers, helping each other to learn. The P2P approach has great potential for rapidly identifying emerging lessons learned and integrating them into wide-reaching Army training. The present research identified the instructional principles and best practices for P2P from academia, industry, and the military supporting effective P2P training and incorporated them into a Soldier-friendly facilitator?s guide. A formative evaluation was conducted with Soldiers using the guide to prepare and conduct group discussions for a face-to-face group setting and a distributed group setting where Soldiers were linked via video teleconference. One group of Soldiers served as ?facilitators? and used the facilitator?s guide to prepare and lead discussions with other Soldiers who served as ?learners.? Feedback on the guide was mostly positive with Soldiers indicating that the guide provided an appropriate amount of information and a usable format and tools for structuring and fostering group discussions. Ongoing efforts to transition P2P methods into Army training are discussed.
