Book excerpt: This book covers what I believe to be the 8 main categories of life. Those being, personal development, family, relationships, health, career, finance, fun/joy, and faith. There will be stories you may have heard before, as well as personal stories that I share. My goal is to inspire the reader that there has never been a better time to be alive and that their future is in their hands. There are many tips I've learned as well as what I've experienced that I attempt to pass along. My hope is to bring up what's worked for me as well as what hasn't. What I've learned from others is that makes sense and points people in the right direction so they can learn more.

Book Facets of Life

Download or read book Facets of Life written by Lori Clark Weatherly and published by Xulon Press. This book was released on 2011-03 with total page 144 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: "We do not remember the days, we remember the moments!" One moment can change your life, forever. One moment can leave you breathless; it is that moment when you know it has happened... a change. "I expected to be overjoyed to become a mommy again. I expected flowers, but not flowers with baby angels attached to them and a black wreath that would hang upon our business door to let all know that the arrival of our second son turned into something we didn't expect, his death." Lori Weatherly and her family have been through much devastation which includes their son passing away the day before Lori's 31st birthday as well as insurmountable physical trauma and injuries. Learning to love again, live again and find a new normal would prove to be an obstacle that, with God's help, she and her family are able to overcome on a daily basis. "I am careful to know that with expectations, a risk is always there that could lead to disappointment at any given moment. But that cannot keep me from expecting good things! God is a giver of good things! Without expectations, what do we have to hope for?"

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Life is but a splendorous ethereal jewel—sparkling brilliantly as it spins throughout time and space. Each of its countless colorful facets represents a memory, fleeting feeling, or thought. There is no better way to capture a finite moment in time, emotion, or personal revelation than with a poem. This carefully compiled collection of chronologically arranged pieces contains inspirational and introspective poems in a variety of formats and styles. It is the second in what will hopefully be a series. The first volume is titled Heart, Mind, and Soul, containing autobiographical poetry by the author Heather Mitchell, written between ages thirteen and twenty-six. This volume, Facets of Life, picks up from that point, spanning ages twenty-seven through forty-four. Although still autobiographical, these increasingly complex poems are much more introspective and thought-provoking as the author ages, further matures, and faces many unusual trials, yet somehow finds the inner strength to not only survive but to persevere. This book is sure to encourage self-reflection and personal growth. Readers may also find insights to which they can relate or take comfort in knowing that others share similar seemingly insurmountable trials, thus helping them feel less alone. Facets of Life is perfect for those seeking to explore their inner selves, face hidden demons, and most importantly, celebrate their own uniqueness.

Understanding this core brings each Holy Idea within reach, so its spiritual perspective can serve as a key for unlocking the fixation and freeing us from its limitations.

Book Six Facets Of Light

Download or read book Six Facets Of Light written by Ann Wroe and published by Random House. This book was released on 2016-04-07 with total page 320 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: ‘She’s a genius, I believe, because she lights up every subject she touches.’ Hilary Mantel A Spectator Book of the Year Goethe claimed to know what light was. Galileo and Einstein both confessed they didn’t. On the essential nature of light, and how it operates, the scientific jury is still out. There is still time, therefore, to listen to painters and poets on the subject. They, after all, spend their lives pursuing light and trying to tie it down. Six Facets of Light is a series of meditations on this most elusive and alluring feature of human life. Set mostly on the Downs and coastline of East Sussex, the most luminous part of England, it interweaves a walker’s experiences of light in Nature with the observations, jottings and thoughts of a dozen writers and painters – and some scientists – who have wrestled to define and understand light. From Hopkins to Turner, Coleridge to Whitman, Fra Angelico to Newton, Ravilious to Dante, the mystery of light is teased out and pondered on. Some of the results are surprising. By using mostly notebooks and sketchbooks, this book becomes a portrait of the transitoriness, randomness, swiftness, frustrations and quicksilver beauty that are the essence of light. It is a work to be enjoyed, pondered over, engaged with, provoked by; to be packed in the rucksack of every walker heading for the sea or the hills, or to be opened to bring that outside radiance within four dark town walls.

Book Polishing the Facets of Life with Bipolar

Download or read book Polishing the Facets of Life with Bipolar written by E. Sebree and published by Createspace Independent Publishing Platform. This book was released on 2018-05-30 with total page 88 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: For many, "mentally ill" can seem like a label you can never come back from. That's certainly how E.M. Sebree felt - compared to Mountain Dew in high school for her manic personality and, later, called Bright Eyes by hospital workmen impressed by her energy, she was in fact haunted by something far more destructive than mere excitement: bipolar disorder. From early trauma through sexual assault through delusions and hallucinations, Sebree's journey is one into the dark heart of how we as a society approach mental health. For her, as for so many others, diagnosis and treatment were not the end of her troubles, but merely a new beginning: high school, college, and the world of work would bring fresh challenges and obstacles that sometimes appeared insurmountable. A generous, grounded, and authentic work, Polishing the Facets invites the reader to walk a mile in the shoes of a bipolar woman. Breaking through media sensationalism and stigma, E.M. Sebree instead points toward the human heart beating within every so-called "crazy" person.

This book was released on 2012-12-31 with total page 181 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Winner of the 2014 John Collier Jr. Award Winner of the Jo Anne Stolaroff Cotsen Prize Life at Home in the Twenty-First Century cross-cuts the ranks of important books on social history, consumerism, contemporary culture, the meaning of material culture, domestic architecture, and household ethnoarchaeology. It is a distant cousin of Material World and Hungry Planet in content and style, but represents a blend of rigorous science and photography that these books can claim. Using archaeological approaches to human material culture, this volume offers unprecedented access to the middle-class American home through the kaleidoscopic lens of no-limits photography and many kinds of never-before acquired data about how people actually live their lives at home. Based on a rigorous, nine-year project at UCLA, this book has appeal not only to scientists but also to all people who share intense curiosity about what goes on at home in their neighborhoods. Many who read the book will see their own lives mirrored in these pages and can reflect on how other people cope with their mountains of possessions and other daily challenges. Readers abroad will be equally fascinated by the contrasts between their own kinds of materialism and the typical American experience. The book will interest a range of designers, builders, and architects as well as scholars and students who research various facets of U.S. and global consumerism, cultural history, and economic history.
