Book Extreme Guns and Babes For an Adult World

Download or read book Extreme Guns and Babes For an Adult World written by Jack Corbett and published by Nirvana Publishing Company. This book was released on 2021-08-24 with total page 0 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: "Extreme Guns and Babes for an Adult Worl" started out as a series of gun articles published in "Xtreme Magazine" showcasing the beauty of 26 adult entertainers, including Miss Nude World, Miss Nude Illinois and M.S. Texas. What distinguishes it from any other book about guns is it had to appeal to a readership that had no particular interest in guns. While still providing incisive firearms content that would capture the attention of serious hunters, gun collectors, and firearms enthusiasts. The "Xtreme Magazine" guns and babes articles led to the 2004 Xtreme Weapons calendar that was financed by the Jack Corbett, Xtreme Magazine's editor, Jeremy McTeague, and Vic Meyer, a Missouri gun dealer who specialized in military weapons. Because Vic intended to sell the calendar at gun shows to thousands of gun fanatics the entire project had to have a very serious focus on weapons. While still providing spectacular photos and commentary of the models that "Xtreme Magazine" could sell to customers whose primary interest was in adult entertainment. The Xtreme Magazine Guns and Babes articles and the 2004 Xtreme Weapons Calendar led to Jack Corbett's writing and producing "Extreme Guns and Babes for an Adult World" which he originally published in two paperback editions, one in full color, the other in a much more affordable black white edition. While both editions included 119 pictures of his guns and models, Jack decided to create a larger and even more spectacular hardcover book for book stores such as Barnes and Noble. This is the L 5th hardcover edition printed at lulu.com.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Borrowing a white tiger just to take the best pictures of a topless dancer posing with a German World War II Mauser might seem to be a little extreme for getting the reader's attention until you consider that author photographer Jack Corbett and his friends turned the White Tiger loose in a topless club afterwards. But "Extreme Guns and Babes for an Adult World" is not your average run of the mill book about guns. It is a collection of 26 articles the writer-photographer produced while writing for "Xtreme Magazine". This second edition of the book is printed in full color whereas the 3rd edition is in black and white and the first edition was published in Kindle. Each edition contains over 100 photos. There's over 26 models posing with the 26 weapons (or the Tiger), and all of them are feature entertainers and strippers. Jack Corbett's mission was one nearly every red blooded American male would envy which was he got to select his own models for his articles while getting to write about any gun he chose. And since Xtreme Magazine is a small East Coast adult magazine there was no bureaucracy to put up with. There's a lot of good stuff about guns here for all of you gun lovers out there. For instance, did you know why the Colt Python was the best .357 magnum revolver on the market or why Vietnam era M-16's are better man stoppers than the "improved models" being used today? Or why the underpowered, inaccurate (according to its detractors) M-1 carbine was the favorite weapon of Audie Murphy, America's most decorated World War II hero or how the German M42 machine gun outclassed the 30 caliber Browning used by American World War II soldiers? The book is labeled "adult" but this might be a misnomer. If you are looking for porn you will not find it here. If you are looking for complete nudity, there's been a coverup, as even though a large number of the pictures appearing in this book were shot in the nude, bare nipples and the most private portions of the models have disappeared into the dark recesses of Photoshop.

Book War and Childhood in the Era of the Two World Wars

Download or read book War and Childhood in the Era of the Two World Wars written by Mischa Honeck and published by Cambridge University Press. This book was released on 2019-02-21 with total page 311 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The histories of modern war and childhood were the result of competing urgencies. According to ideals of childhood widely accepted throughout the world by 1900, children should have been protected, even hidden, from conflict and danger. Yet at a time when modern ways of childhood became increasingly possible for economic, social, and political reasons, it became less possible to fully protect them in the face of massive industrialized warfare driven by geopolitical rivalries and expansionist policies. Taking a global perspective, the chapters in this book examine a wide range of experiences and places. In addition to showing how the engagement of children and youth with war differed according to geography, technology, class, age, race, gender, and the nature of the state, they reveal how children acquired agency during the twentieth century's greatest conflicts.

Download or read book The War Play Dilemma written by Diane E. Levin and published by Teachers College Press. This book was released on 2006 with total page 150 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: As violence in the media and media-linked toys increases, parents and teachers are also seeing an increase in children's war play. The authors have revised this popular text to provide more practical guidance for working with children to promote creative play, and for positively influencing the lessons about violence children are learning. Using a developmental and sociopolitical viewpoint, the authors examine five possible strategies for resolving the war play dilemma and show which best satisfy both points of view: banning war play; taking a laissez-faire approach; allowing war play with specified limits; actively facilitating war play; and limiting war play while providing alternative ways to work on the issues. New for the Second Edition are: more anecdotal material about adults'' and children's experiences with war play, including examples from both home and school settings; greater emphasis on the impact of media and commercialization on children's war play, including recent trends in media, programming, marketing, and war toys; expanded discussion about the importance of the distinction between imitative and creative war play; and summary boxes of key points directed at teachers or parents. * New information about violent video games, media cross feeding, and gender development and sex-role stereotyping.

Book excerpt: Life of An Exotic Entertainment Photographer portrays an entirely different outlook on the U.S. Adult Entertainment Industry that few people ever hear about which is an almost complete opposite of what people see in the movies or read about. In Life of an Exotic Entertainment Photographer, the good guys and gals are the topless club owners and strippers. For they are the book's heroes and heroines. While the real villains are the moralistic control freaks Jack calls the "Mothers for a More Boring Nation". Several of the book's heroines are heroin addicts whose personalities and values are hardly affected at all by the killer drug. Jack's best friends are strippers with names like Marriah, Angie, Brandy, Angel and Jade. Upon reading this book you will learn that Jack's stripper friends have always got his back. Who have never failed to pay him back for any money he was lent them. While contrary to any preconceived notions the reader might have previously had, the author's stripper friends are an enormously talented group of women. The reader will also start to understand that it's not the money that makes so many strippers tick. While Jack's club owner and club manager friends are totally unlike the prevalent stereotypes the general public has of them. But it is this talented, creative group of professionals who increasingly become the targets of their hypocritical opponents, the Mothers for a More Boring Nation. During his career as an adult industry photographer and write, Jack personally witnesses one of his favorite clubs being assaulted by two men who spray the entire club with mace leaving two people badly injured. Who upon being apprehended by the police are given a free pass. While the police threaten to throw the club owner in jail. But among Jack's many manager and club owner friends it will be Big Daddy who will entice him into traveling with him to Thailand which ultimately results in his seldom ever returning to the United States.

Book excerpt: The human world is wobbly wildly off balance. Everywhere you look -- from the halls of Congress to the deserts of the Middle East -- institutions and societies are riven by discord. To his crisis-laden situation -- one that globalization cannot correct by economic means alone -- philosopher Lou Marinoff brings a much-needed antidote to extremism, offfering hope and guidance to everyone who feels powerless, frustrated, or frightened in a world that flirts daily with disaster. Drawing inspiration from three of humankind's greatest philosophers -- Aristotle, Buddha, and Confucius -- Marinoff maps a route from chaos to order, a path whose signposts can be read in the perennial wisdom of these "ABCs." Marinoff offers us a way to travel into a less violent, more cooperative, and most fulfilling future: "The Middle Way". -- From publisher's description.

Download or read book Extremely Violent Societies written by Christian Gerlach and published by Cambridge University Press. This book was released on 2010-10-14 with total page pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In this groundbreaking book Christian Gerlach traces the social roots of the extraordinary processes of human destruction involved in mass violence throughout the twentieth century. He argues that terms such as 'genocide' and 'ethnic cleansing' are too narrow to explain the diverse motives and interests that cause violence to spread in varying forms and intensities. From killings and expulsions to enforced hunger, collective rape, strategic bombing, forced labour and imprisonment he explores what happened before, during, and after periods of widespread bloodshed in countries such as Armenia, Indonesia, Bangladesh, Nazi-occupied Greece and in anti-guerilla wars worldwide in order to highlight the crucial role of socio-economic pressures in the generation of group conflicts. By focussing on why so many different people participated in or supported mass violence, and why different groups were victimized, he offers us a new way of understanding one of the most disturbing phenomena of our times.

A cannon. A strap. A piece. A biscuit. A burner. A heater. A chopper. A gat. A hammer A tool for RULE Or, you can call it a gun. That’s what fifteen-year-old Will has shoved in the back waistband of his jeans. See, his brother Shawn was just murdered. And Will knows the rules. No crying. No snitching. Revenge. That’s where Will’s now heading, with that gun shoved in the back waistband of his jeans, the gun that was his brother’s gun. He gets on the elevator, seventh floor, stoked. He knows who he’s after. Or does he? As the elevator stops on the sixth floor, on comes Buck. Buck, Will finds out, is who gave Shawn the gun before Will took the gun. Buck tells Will to check that the gun is even loaded. And that’s when Will sees that one bullet is missing. And the only one who could have fired Shawn’s gun was Shawn. Huh. Will didn’t know that Shawn had ever actually USED his gun. Bigger huh. BUCK IS DEAD. But Buck’s in the elevator? Just as Will’s trying to think this through, the door to the next floor opens. A teenage girl gets on, waves away the smoke from Dead Buck’s cigarette. Will doesn’t know her, but she knew him. Knew. When they were eight. And stray bullets had cut through the playground, and Will had tried to cover her, but she was hit anyway, and so what she wants to know, on that fifth floor elevator stop, is, what if Will, Will with the gun shoved in the back waistband of his jeans, MISSES. And so it goes, the whole long way down, as the elevator stops on each floor, and at each stop someone connected to his brother gets on to give Will a piece to a bigger story than the one he thinks he knows. A story that might never know an END…if Will gets off that elevator. Told in short, fierce staccato narrative verse, Long Way Down is a fast and furious, dazzlingly brilliant look at teenage gun violence, as could only be told by Jason Reynolds.
