Book Export Packing

Download or read book Export Packing written by C. C. Martin and published by . This book was released on 2015-08-06 with total page 738 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Excerpt from Export Packing: A Guide to the Methods Employed by Successful Shippers The plan has been consistently followed throughout this book of having the men who are practically and intimately in touch with packing problems tell the story, whether these men be of national, even international reputation, such as Lieut. Colonel David T. Abercrombie, Mr. M. C. Fitz Gerald or Captain H. N. Knowlton, who have contributed special chapters, or whether they be those who are daily in touch with the problem in the great and small manufacturing establishments throughout the land. To a large extent my own work has been restricted to that of editor and has consisted in arranging and assembling the material at hand, and I am convinced that any book on packing to be of value must necessarily be written in this way. My thanks therefore are not alone due to the gentlemen who have been good enough to contribute signed chapters to this volume, and who have done so, let it be said, in a spirit of generous desire to assist foreign trade; my obligation is equally great to those public spirited men and organizations who have placed freely at my disposal not alone a wealth of photographic material, but have also given me the benefit of their best critical judgment both in reference to the packing problem in general and to their own individual work in particular. There is a great deal of material that might have been included in this volume which I have been compelled to omit because of mere physical limitations, for it would not have been at all difficult to have collected sufficient data to make two books of this size. However, such additional material would have been in certain instances a repetition of what we have, and I do not believe that any essential phase of the problem has been omitted. Book American Methods in Foreign Trade

Download or read book American Methods in Foreign Trade written by George C. Vedder and published by Forgotten Books. This book was released on 2015-06-25 with total page 218 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Excerpt from American Methods in Foreign Trade: A Guide to Export Selling Policy American manufacturers are not the best exporters in the world, but the best exporters in the world are American manufacturers. In the United States are to be found the most efficient world traders in steel, heavy machinery, office specialties, typewriters, cash registers, talking machines, automobiles, shoes, hosiery, hardware, cameras and scores of other articles. Some of them have not as yet the largest overseas trade in their line, but their skill will eventually make them leaders in this respect also. Volume of sales, however, is not an all-important consideration for it takes care of itself in due time if methods are sound and constructive and possess continuity. The statement that the United States has the best exporters of scores of lines means that we have the men who have shown preeminent ability in building up a profitable foreign demand for these goods, on the solid foundation of that due regard for the rights and welfare of the distributor and consumer from which springs good will, the only real guarantee of future profit and growth. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Excerpt from American Methods in Foreign Trade: A Guide to Export Selling Policy If at times it seems to the reader that the note of idealism is too strongly sounded, may he at tribute this to a profound conviction that our suc cess in foreign trade is largely dependent on the practical application by our manufacturers of the Golden Rule in their dealings with buyers in over seas markets. Those who have become leaders in this field have, either deliberately or unconsciously, practised it. This book could render no greater national service than to discourage the export activities of survivors of the era of Caveat Emptor.
