Book Graph Theoretic Concepts in Computer Science

Download or read book Graph Theoretic Concepts in Computer Science written by Hajo Broersma and published by Springer. This book was released on 2008-12-05 with total page 396 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The 34th International Workshop on Graph-Theoretic Concepts in Computer Science (WG 2008) took place in Van Mildert College at Durham University, UK, 30 June – 2 July 2008. The approximately 80 participants came from va- ous countries all over the world, among them Australia, Brazil, Canada, Chile, Czech Republic, France, Greece, Hungary,Israel, Italy, Japan, The Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Spain, Switzerland, UK and the USA. WG 2008 continued the series of 33 previous WG conferences. Since 1975, the WG conference has taken place 21 times in Germany, four times in The Netherlands, twice in Austria as well as once in Italy, Slovakia, Switzerland, the Czech Republic, France, Norway and now in the UK. The WG conference traditionally aims at uniting theory and practice by demonstrating how graph-theoretic concepts can be applied to various areas in computer science, or by extracting new problems from applications. The goal is to present recent researchresults and to identify and exploredirections of future research. The continuing interest in the WG conferences was re?ected in the number and quality of submissions; 76 papers were submitted and in an evaluation p- cess with four reports per submission, 30 papers were accepted by the Program Committee for the conference. Due to the high number of submissions and the limited schedule of 3 days, various good papers could not be accepted. Therewereexcellent invited talks by Giuseppe Di Battista(UniversitàRoma Tre,Italy)onalgorithmicaspectsof(un)-stableroutingintheInternet,byLeszek G?sieniec (University of Liverpool, UK) on memory-e?cient graph exploration, andbyMartinGrohe(Humboldt-UniversitätzuBerlin,Germany)onalgorithmic meta theorems.

Book Marine Oil and Gas Exploration in China

Download or read book Marine Oil and Gas Exploration in China written by Yongsheng Ma and published by Springer Nature. This book was released on 2020-02-24 with total page 578 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book systematically introduces the petroleum geological characteristics and exploration theory of marine strata in China. On the basis of four major basins, 14 typical cases have been studied in which 13 cases are from conventional oil and gas fields and 1 case is from shale gas field, along with their hydrocarbon generation, migration, accumulation, and distribution characteristics. The book provides a reference for geologists around the globe to understand the exploration history, methods and advances in marine strata oil and gas exploration in China.

Book Hydrocarbon Exploration to Exploitation West of Shetlands

Download or read book Hydrocarbon Exploration to Exploitation West of Shetlands written by S.J.C. Cannon and published by Geological Society of London. This book was released on 2014-06-09 with total page 227 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This volume addresses the challenges facing explorers and developers alike in a region that is becoming a major focus of the petroleum industry in the United Kingdom, Faroes and North Norway. Several West of Shetland fields are still in the appraisal phase almost a decade after discovery. Sub-volcanic exploration risks remain high: sub-volcanic structural traps are imaged poorly, and so the geophysical community is responding with the application of latest technology. The more simple reservoirs might not be large enough to prompt informed and speedy development decisions; larger fields might have a combination of complexities, requiring a phased approach to the development. Infrastructure has been slow to arrive and planned developments have been subject to dramatic swings in fiscal regime ranging from special allowances to unexpected tax increases. Environmental challenges are significant when moving into more remote, deeper water. The perception of these challenges by the third parties has become much more acute. To sustain its right to operate, the industry has to demonstrate safe drilling operations and appropriate response capability with government agencies.

Book Basin Analysis in Petroleum Exploration

Download or read book Basin Analysis in Petroleum Exploration written by P.G. Teleki and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2012-12-06 with total page 336 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This volume summarizes in 16 chapters the petroleum geology of the Békés basin with respect to its geological setting in the Pannonian Basin. The work was accomplished by a joint effort of the Hungarian Oil and Gas Co. and U.S. Geological Survey. In contrast with other books that discuss the geology of Hungary, this volume identifies, in detail, potential source rocks and reservoir rocks, and evaluates the maturation, generation, migration, and entrapment of hydrocarbons. The outstanding points are: (1) its summary of the petroleum geology of the Békés basin with respect to its structural and sedimentological setting in the Pannonian Basin; (2) the identification of geographic areas, structural trends and stratigraphic zones that remain relatively unexplored; and (3) a summary of `petroleum plays' with an assessment of their recoverable, undiscovered resources of oil and gas. This book is primarily for petroleum geologists interested in oil and gas exploration in Hungary, and earth scientists interested in the geology of the Pannonian Basin.

Book Petroleum Exploration and Exploitation in Norway

Download or read book Petroleum Exploration and Exploitation in Norway written by S. Hanslien and published by Elsevier. This book was released on 1995-12-15 with total page 459 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This conference was arranged by the Norwegian Petroleum Society in order to commemorate the first 25 years of exploration on the Norwegian Continental Shelf. Sixty papers and posters were presented of which 25 have been selected for this volume.Since the start of exploration activities during the mid 1960's the North Sea has not only proved to be one of the main petroleum provinces in the world, but has also established itself as an excellent laboratory for geoscientific research and application. This development has been stimulated greatly by the openess towards exchange of technical data encouragement by the Norwegian authorities. The objective of this book is to assess the results of 25 years of exploration in Norway. It focuses on lessons learned from past experiences as well as considering future challenges facing geoscientists in the industry (relating to both exploration and exploitation activities). Included, are papers which assess the status and future trends of exploration in the main geological provinces on the Norwegian Continental Shelf from the Central Graben in the south to Svalbard and the Russian Artic in the north.
