Book Beginning Digital Electronics through Projects

Download or read book Beginning Digital Electronics through Projects written by Andrew Singmin and published by Elsevier. This book was released on 2001-01-22 with total page 222 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Digital electronics is a little more abstract than analog electronics, and trying to find a useful starter book can be tough. For those interested in learning digital electronics, with a practical approach, Beginning Digital Electronics Through Projects is for you. It is published in the same tradition as Beginning Analog Electronics Through Projects, Andrew Singmin's revision to the popular Beginning Electronics Through Projects. Beginning Digital Electronics Through Projects provides practical exercises, building techniques, and ideas for over thirty-five useful digital projects. Some digital logic knowledge is necessary, but the theory is limited to "need-to-know" information that will allow you to get started right away without complex math. Many components in this text are common to either analog or digital electronics, and beginners or hobbyists making their start here will find and overview of commonly used components and their functions described in everyday terms. Each of the projects builds on the theory and component knowledge developed in earlier chapters, establishing progressively more ambitious goals. Step-by-step learning instructions help you determine the best ways of working with such projects as Schmitt Trigger Circuits, Versatile ICs, Digital Support Circuits, and much more. Two interesting wireless projects (an FM receiver and an FM transmitter) bring the final chapters of this book to a close. Provides a logical step by step project-based way to learn the basics of digital electronics Gives the reader hands-on learning experiences through building simple projects Explains circuit design, circuit testing, and how to design your own projects

This book was released on 2006-01-01 with total page 344 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This laboratory manual for students of Electronics, Electrical, Instrumentation, Communication, and Computer engineering disciplines has been prepared in the form of a standalone text, offering the necessary theory and circuit diagrams with each experiment. Procedures for setting up the circuits and measuring and evaluating their performance are designed to support the material of the authors' book Analog Electronics (also published by PHI Learning). There are twenty-five experiments. The experiments cover the basic transistor circuits, the linear op-amp circuits, the active filters, the non-linear op-amp circuits, the signal generators, the voltage regulators, the power amplifiers, the high frequency amplifiers, and the data converters. In addition to the hands-on experiments using traditional test equipment and components, this manual describes the simulation of circuits using PSPICE as well. For PSPICE simulation, any available standard SPICE software may be used including the latest version OrCAD V10 Demo software. This feature allows the instructor to adopt a single laboratory manual for both types of experiments.

Book Foundations of Analog and Digital Electronic Circuits

Download or read book Foundations of Analog and Digital Electronic Circuits written by Anant Agarwal and published by Elsevier. This book was released on 2005-07-01 with total page 1009 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Unlike books currently on the market, this book attempts to satisfy two goals: combine circuits and electronics into a single, unified treatment, and establish a strong connection with the contemporary world of digital systems. It will introduce a new way of looking not only at the treatment of circuits, but also at the treatment of introductory coursework in engineering in general. Using the concept of ''abstraction,'' the book attempts to form a bridge between the world of physics and the world of large computer systems. In particular, it attempts to unify electrical engineering and computer science as the art of creating and exploiting successive abstractions to manage the complexity of building useful electrical systems. Computer systems are simply one type of electrical systems. +Balances circuits theory with practical digital electronics applications.+Illustrates concepts with real devices.+Supports the popular circuits and electronics course on the MIT OpenCourse Ware from which professionals worldwide study this new approach.+Written by two educators well known for their innovative teaching and research and their collaboration with industry.+Focuses on contemporary MOS technology.

Book Testing and Diagnosis of Analog Circuits and Systems

Download or read book Testing and Diagnosis of Analog Circuits and Systems written by Ruey-wen Liu and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2012-12-06 with total page 290 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: IS THE TOPIC ANALOG TESTING AND DIAGNOSIS TIMELY? Yes, indeed it is. Testing and Diagnosis is an important topic and fulfills a vital need for the electronic industry. The testing and diagnosis of digital electronic circuits has been successfuIly developed to the point that it can be automated. Unfortu nately, its development for analog electronic circuits is still in its Stone Age. The engineer's intuition is still the most powerful tool used in the industry! There are two reasons for this. One is that there has been no pressing need from the industry. Analog circuits are usuaIly small in size. Sometimes, the engineer's experience and intuition are sufficient to fulfill the need. The other reason is that there are no breakthrough results from academic re search to provide the industry with critical ideas to develop tools. This is not because of a lack of effort. Both academic and industrial research groups have made major efforts to look into this problem. Unfortunately, the prob lem for analog circuits is fundamentally different from and much more diffi cult than its counterpart for digital circuits. These efforts have led to some important findings, but are still not at the point of being practicaIly useful. However, these situations are now changing. The current trend for the design of VLSI chips is to use analog/digital hybrid circuits, instead of digital circuits from the past. Therefore, even Ix x Preface though the analog circuit may be small, the total circuit under testing is large.

Book Digital Electronics and Laboratory Computer Experiments

Download or read book Digital Electronics and Laboratory Computer Experiments written by Charles Wilkins and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2012-12-06 with total page 273 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Science undergraduates have come to accept the use of computers as commonplace. The daily use of portable sophisticated electronic calculators (some of them rivaling general-purpose minicomputers in their capa bi li ti es) has hastened this development. Over the past several years, computer assisted experimentation has assumed an important role in the experimental laboratory. Mini- and microcomputer systems have become an important part of the physical scientist's array of analytical instruments. Prompted by our beliefthat this was an inevitable development, we began several years aga to develop the curricular materials presented in this manual. At the outset, several objectives seemed important to uso First, insofar as possible, the experiments included should be thoroughly tested and error free. Second, they should be compatible with a variety of laboratory computer, data-acquisition, and control systems. Third, little or no previous background in either electronics or programming should be necessary. (Of course, such background would be advantageous. ) To satisfy these objectives, we decided to adopt a widespread high-level computer language, BASIC, suitably modified for the purpose. Furthermore, we have purposely avoided specifying any particular system or equipment. Rather, the functional characteristics of both hardware and software required are stipulated. The experiments have been developed using Varian 620 and Hewlett-Packard 2100 series computers, but we believe they are readily transferable to other commonly available computer systems with a minimum of difficulty.
