Download or read book High Temperature Vapor Pressure and the Critical Point of Potassium written by and published by . This book was released on 1973 with total page pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The vapor pressure of potassium was experimentally determined from 2100 deg F up to-its critical temperature. An empirical equation of the form ln P = A + B/T + C ln T + DT/sup 1.5/ was found to best fit the data. A critical pressure of 2378.2 plus or minus 4.0 psia (161.79 plus or minus 0.27 ata) was measured. The corresponding critical temperature, extrapolated from the pressure-- temperature curve, is 4105.4 plus or minus 5 deg R (2280.8 plus or minus 3 deg K). The technique employed was tae pressure tube method developed earlier in this laboratory and used for determining the vapor pressure of rubidium and cesium. This method measures tae critical pressure directly, as well as the vapor pressure st lower temperatures. (4 tables, 6 figures, 26 references) (auth).

This book was released on 2017-10-28 with total page 82 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Excerpt from A Differential, Dynamic Method for the Accurate Determination of Relative Vapor-Pressure Lowering: Thesis In the study of solutions to determine the molecular condition of the solute, any of the colligative properties, osmotic pressure, boiling point elevation, freezing-point depression, or vapor pressure lowering, may be employed. For this purpose the osmotic pressure is of very little assistance because satisfactory semi-permeable membranes have, as yet, been prepared for only one or two solutes. The boiling-point raising is difficult to measure with sufficient accuracy because of its variation with changes in atmospheric pressure, and, in the case of aqueous solutions, because the molar boiling point elevation is small. It has the additional disadvantage that the temperature and concentration change at the same time. About the Publisher Forgotten Books publishes hundreds of thousands of rare and classic books. Download or read book Vapor Pressure Data Analysis Methodology Statistics and Applications written by Elwin C. Penski and published by . This book was released on 1992 with total page 73 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: A method of fitting vapor pressure temperature data to the Antoine equation is described along with a detailed statistical analysis of the fits and calculations of vapor pressures, enthalpies of vaporization, volatilities (concentration of saturated vapors), and boiling points with the Antoine constants. It is shown that the number of digits required to accurately perform vapor pressure calculations is greater than previously believed. The system permits calculation of the limits of error for any level of confidence. A program is used to analyze and plot the available vapor pressure data for diethyl malonate. Vapor pressure, Antoine equation, Volatility, Temperature, Statistics, Plotting, Enthalpy of Vaporization, Concentration of saturated vapor, Experimental methods, Diethyl malonate, Confidence limits, Confidence level.
