He used every means to demean and disgrace them. They were kept in bondage and forced to work for him for small wages or nothing. Under this system the people obeyed and worshipped the pharaoh, and the ruling class carried out his orders, thereby authorizing his tyranny and crazy whims. The pharaoh wanted the people to obey him only, and to believe in the gods of his invention. Thus, successive dynasties came to Egypt and assumed that they were gods or their representative or spokesmen. Years passed, and a despotic king, who was adored by the Egyptians, ruled Egypt. His king saw the children of Israel multiplying and prospering. He heard them talking about a vague vision that one of Israel' s sons would dethrone the pharaoh of Egypt. Perhaps this vision was only a daydream that persisted within the hearts of the persecuted minority, or perhaps it was a prophecy from their books. Another tradition states that it was Pharaoh himself who had the vision. Ibn 'Abbas narrated: "Pharaoh saw in his vision a fire, which came from Jerusalem and burned the houses of the Egyptians, and all Copts, and did not do harm to the children of Israel. When he woke up, he was horrified. He then gathered his priests and magicians and asked them about this vision. They said: "This means a boy will be born of them and the Egyptian people will perish at his hands.' That is why Pharaoh commanded that all male children of the children of Israel be killed." Either way, this vision reached the ears of the Pharaoh. He then issued a decree to slay any male child that would be born to the children of Israel.

Mount Sinai has been found! Elim has been found! The Graves of lust (Numbers 11:34) have been found! Several catacombs filled with "innumerable" vases of cremated remains! The Egyptians and Arabs did not believe in cremation. The Romans and Greeks, who sometimes cremated, had no towns within 60 miles of these catacombs! Though the Jews did not cremate, one day out on the desert God burned thousands of them (Psalm 78:20-21), and they were buried in "The Graves of lust!" One of the catacombs is pictured in the background.

Book excerpt: Reared in the ways of the God of the heavens during his early childhood, Moses, who was drawn from the water, was moved from his humble abode to one of privilege with every amenity. Temptation abounded, but the teaching of his mother in the way of truth lingered in his mind, even as he was tutored in the schools of the pharaoh. With his leadership and military training behind him, yet convinced of his sacred duty, he ached to see his people suffer. Thus, Moses committed the same grave error of many of his ancestors: taking matters into his own hands. An Egyptian oppressor died because of Moses’ misguided fervor, which sent him fleeing as a fugitive. In the mountains of Moses’ refuge, God broke down the strongholds of Egyptian influence. As forty years of Moses’ life passed in his wilderness hideaway, God instilled in His servant lessons of faith, patience, humility, and reverence. When Moses was humbled, God met him at the burning bush. He trembled at the thought of returning to the land of his birth to face a brotherly foe. Only then did God lay out His detailed instruction to rescue the Hebrew people. Together Moses and his brother Aaron took the message of God to the earthly king: “Let My people go.” The pharaoh met the brothers’ approach with wrath: “I know not Jehovah, neither will I let Israel go,” boasting that their God had no power to deliver them. Hence, a series of plagues bombarded the people of the Nile. Just before the tenth and final plague, Moses instructed God’s chosen with their course of action. They needed to submit to His command through obedience to heavenly direction just as we need to be surrendered so that we can be saved. When the cry of bereavement rose from the land of sun gods and papyrus reeds, the Hebrews were ready to go. The pharaoh once denounced the sovereign God: “Who is Jehovah, that I should obey His voice to let Israel go?” cried out as he hovered over the limp body of his firstborn, “Rise up, and get you forth from among my people. . . . Also take your flocks and herds . . . and be gone.” Thus, the descendents of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob left the land of their bondage. When the grieving king learned that the whole enslaved nation had marched to the Red Sea instead of the desert, his ire burned within him. When the pursuing army approached, the God Almighty enveloped the opposition in a foggy cloud, blinding their view. As the darkness deepened over the Egyptians predators, confusion and dismay reigned. To the Hebrew people, however, that same cloud illuminated the encampment with the light of day, and hope resurged in their hearts. When Moses lifted his rod over the swelling waters, they parted, creating a walled pathway through the sea. God’s pillar lighted their way from shore to shore in that night of flight. The Psalmist penned of the following morning when the last Israelite footstep was safely on the eastern shore: “The clouds poured out water: the skies sent out a sound: thine arrows also went abroad. The voice of thy thunder was in the heaven: the lightnings lightened the world: the earth trembled and shook” (Psalm 77:17–18). Thus, the Egyptians pursuers followed their firstborn into death. In only one night, God’s people experienced complete deliverance—men, women, children, and even their livestock. God has a plan of deliverance for those who have chosen Him as their Savior, Lord, and Friend that is greater than that of the miracle at the Red Sea. We may lay claim to the sacrifice of our Redeemer, and keep our eyes ever focused on Him rather than what sin may offer us for a season.

Adam's role as the father of the human race is looked upon by Muslims with reverence. Muslims also refer to his wife, Eve (Hawa), as the "mother of mankind." Muslims see Adam as the first Muslim, as the Qur'an promulgates that all the prophets preached the same faith of submission to God. His story is told in the Qur'an in numerous places, though his Qur'anic narrative differs from that in the Torah in some aspects. Sunni hadith say that while Adam was sleeping, God took a rib from him and from it He created Lady Eve; however, while the creation of Adam and Eve is referred to in the Qur'an, the exact method of creation is not specified. The Qur'an then says that God commanded that Adam and Eve (Hawa) not eat from one tree in heaven, but Iblis (Lucifer from jinn race) was able to convince them to taste it. They then began to cover themselves because they now knew that their body parts were uncovered. For this, God banished Adam and Eve to earth. Non-canonical Sunni hadith also say that Adam and Eve were cast down far apart, so that they had to search for each other. In Islamic theology, it is not believed that Adam's sin is carried by all of his children. Hadith say that once Adam was on earth, God taught him how to plant seeds and bake bread. This was to become the way of all of Adam's children. Adam proceeded to live for about 1000 years. According to the story of Adam, human kind has learned everything from Adam. He was the first to learn to plant, harvest, and bake as well as the first to be told how to repent and how to properly bury someone. God also revealed the various food restrictions and the alphabet to Adam. He was made the first prophet and he was taught 21 scrolls and was able to write them himself. Adam was also created from earth. It is well known that earth produces crops, supports animals, and provides shelter, among many other things. Earth is very important to human kind, so being created from it makes them very distinct.
