Book Exhaust Emission of Single Cylinder Diesel Engine by Using Tire Disposal Fuel

Download or read book Exhaust Emission of Single Cylinder Diesel Engine by Using Tire Disposal Fuel written by Mohd Herzwan Hamzah and published by . This book was released on 2010 with total page 60 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This report deals with the emission of a single cylinder diesel engine and also the fuel consumption. The objectives of this report are to study the emission characteristics and the fuel consumption of a single cylinder diesel engine that are using tire scrap fuel compared to diesel fuel. This report describes the experimental setups and procedures for analyzing the emission characteristics and also the fuel consumption due to usage of the both fuels with the diesel engine running with no load exerted on it. The engine speed is variable. Detail studies about the experimental setup and components have been done before the experiment started. Data that are required for the analysis is obtained from the experiments. The fuel consumption is analyzed using the fuel flow meter and results for both fuel usages are compared in graph. The exhaust gas emission such as NO, NOx, CO, CO2, and O2 is analyzed using the exhaust gas analyzer and the results for both fuel usages are plotted in graph and compared. Calculations and analysis have been done after all the required data needed for the report is obtained. The results from the experiment show that the diesel fuel is better than tire scrap fuel in term of fuel consumption, CO emissions and CO2 emissions and vice versa for the other parameters.

Book Exhaust Emission of Waste Plastic Disposal Fuel on Single Cylinder YANMAR Diesel Engine

Download or read book Exhaust Emission of Waste Plastic Disposal Fuel on Single Cylinder YANMAR Diesel Engine written by Mohd Hazmie Hamdan and published by . This book was released on 2010 with total page 65 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This report deals with the exhaust emission of waste plastic disposal fuel on single cylinder YANMAR diesel engine. The objectives of this report are to analyze the fuel consumption and the emission characteristic of a single cylinder diesel engine that are using waste plastic disposal fuel compared to usage of ordinary diesel that are available in the market. This report describes the setups and the procedures for the experiment which is to analyze the emission characteristics and fuel consumption of YAMNAR diesel engine due to usage of the both fuels. The experiment used diesel engine with no load which means no load exerted on it. Detail studies about the experimental setup and components have been done before the experiment started. Data that are required for the analysis is observed from the experiments. Calculations and analysis have been done after all the required data needed for the thesis is obtained. The obtained data indicated that the diesel fuel is better than waste plastic disposal fuel in term of fuel consumption, emissions of carbon monoxide (CO) and emissions of carbon dioxide (CO2). By the end of the report, the successful of the project have been stated which is YANMAR engine is able to run with waste plastic disposal (WPD) fuel but the engine needs to run by using diesel fuel first, then followed by waste plastic disposal fuel and finished with diesel fuel as the last fuel usage before the engine turned off.

Book Analysis of Diesel Particulate Matter on Single Cylinder Diesel Engine Using Waste Plastic Fuel

Download or read book Analysis of Diesel Particulate Matter on Single Cylinder Diesel Engine Using Waste Plastic Fuel written by Mohd Radzi Mohd Rasol and published by . This book was released on 2012 with total page 59 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This study deals with the size diameter and concentration distribution of particulate matter (PM) using single cylinder engine diesel using waste plastic disposal fuel. The experiment was devided by two. First experiment is to determine fuel characteristic and the second experiment to analyzed the size diameter and distribution of PM. The characteristic fuel is for determine affect to size diameter and concentration distribution for both fuel. For the experiment size diameter and concentration distribution of PM both fuel be test in 5 different speed which is 1200 rpm,1500 rpm, 1800 rpm, 2100 rpm and 2400 rpm. From the experiment, the result be determine is concentration of PM, dry soot(DS), soluble organic fraction (SOF) and size diameter. All the result can obtained by the calculation and analysis. The end of this analyis show the waste plastic disposal fuel is better than diesel in term produce of gas emission . where the result show waste plastic disposal fuel produce less PM ,NOx, NO, CO2, CO and O. While result for distribution of size diamete.

Book The Effects of Diesel Fuel and Exhaust Emissions

Download or read book The Effects of Diesel Fuel and Exhaust Emissions written by Maurice Mustapha Braimah and published by LAP Lambert Academic Publishing. This book was released on 2012-04 with total page 84 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Diesel fuel and exhaust emissions in Ghana is one of the sources of vehicular pollutions which currently is assuming an alarming proportions coupled with its attendance health effects to the general population. The emissions of these dangerous gases such as carbon monoxide, hydrocarbons, lead and the oxides of nitrogen is on the increase because of the activities of motor vehicles in the country. It is therefore, of a great concern to Government, stakeholders and environmentalist trying to find a sustainable management programme that will deal effectively with the situation. In dealing with the problem, it is very significant for stakeholders to recognize the important role knowledge transfer or education plays in sensitizing and creating awareness among the people about the adverse effects of diesel fuel and exhaust emissions generated by vehicles in the country. The health related problems associated with these emissions is worrying. For instead, it is estimated that, air pollution of which vehicle emissions are the major cause is responsible for about 24,000 premature deaths in the UK alone every year. This is a serious global health problem which must be taken seriousely.

Book Exhaust Emissions from a Diesel Engine

Download or read book Exhaust Emissions from a Diesel Engine written by Terence H. Risby and published by . This book was released on 1983 with total page 3 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Studies were performed using (1) Diesel particles were collected from the undiluted exhaust of a single-cylinder engine, operated at a constant speed and load, using a binary pure hydrocarbon fuel with air or gas mixture oxidizers, and (2) Diesel particles collected from the diluted exhaust of a multicylinder engine operated on a commercial fuel. The physiochemical properties of the particles were determined by static and dynamic methods. The organic adsorbate was characterized by chromatographic and mass spectrometric procedures and by microbial testing protocols. Electron paramagnetic resonance spectrometry and high performance liquid chromatography were used to study reactivity of the organic adsorbate. The particles collected from the exhaust of Diesel engines operated on binary pure hydrocarbons and on commercial fuels contained similar compounds in the organic adsorbates. The nitrogen in these compounds is derived mainly from the oxidizer (Air). The microbial mutagenic activities of the organic adsorbates found on the surface of both types of Diesel particles are comparable. These microbial mutagenic activities can be attributed mainly to the presence of nitrated polynuclear aromatic hydrocarbons.
