Following the release of the final report in October 2014, the then Minister of Veterans' Affairs asked the Ex-Service Organisation Round Table (ESORT) forum to conduct a consultative process to examine the findings of the study and identify priority areas of concern. This paper summarises the findings and recommendations of this consultation process, and will help inform the Government's formal response to the Study.

Over 27,000 Vietnam veterans and their families participated. The final report was released in 2014, and was followed by consultations with the veteran community through the Ex-Service Organisation Round Table (ESORT) in 2015, collated into the 'ESORT feedback paper'. The Government has now considered these recommendations in consultation with the Dept. of Veterans' Affairs and the Department of Defence. This formal response from Government has been issued by the Minister for Veterans' Affairs on 22 December 2016. It highlight some important initiatives introduced in recent years to address the issues raised and the Government's intentions to take further action to improve the health and wellbeing of current and former serving members and their families.
