Book Everyday Optimum Leadership

Download or read book Everyday Optimum Leadership written by R. G. Wolins and published by WestBow Press. This book was released on 2012 with total page 260 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Servant leadership—both its biblical and contemporary components—how does it relate to patterns and practices in your life, the marketplace, or in a church? The purpose of this work is to answer these questions and lay out a practical pathway combined with working tools for the reader to use as they journey into their future building upon a servant leadership foundation. “Future intentions are determined by present action.” This working definition is a guideline: Practicing servant leadership in my life, the marketplace or in a church is self-giving service with others after the pattern of Christ in order to achieve extraordinary commitment and contributions toward mutually shared goals. “Brothers, I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus.” —Phil. 3:13–14 (NKJV)

Book Multipliers

Download or read book Multipliers written by Liz Wiseman and published by Harper Collins. This book was released on 2010-06-15 with total page 358 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Are you a genius or a genius maker? We've all had experience with two dramatically different types of leaders. The first type drain intelligence, energy, and capability from the ones around them and always need to be the smartest ones in the room. These are the idea killers, the energy sappers, the diminishers of talent and commitment. On the other side of the spectrum are leaders who use their intelligence to amplify the smarts and capabilities of the people around them. When these leaders walk into a room, lightbulbs go off over people's heads, ideas flow, and problems get solved. These are the leaders who inspire employees to stretch themselves to deliver results that surpass expectations. These are the Multipliers. And the world needs more of them, especially now, when leaders are expected to do more with less. In this engaging and highly practical book, leadership expert Liz Wiseman and management consultant Greg McKeown explore these two leadership styles, persuasively showing how Multipliers can have a resoundingly positive and profitable effect on organizations—getting more done with fewer resources, developing and attracting talent, and cultivating new ideas and energy to drive organizational change and innovation. In analyzing data from more than 150 leaders, Wiseman and McKeown have identified five disciplines that distinguish Multipliers from Diminishers. These five disciplines are not based on innate talent; indeed, they are skills and practices that everyone can learn to use—even lifelong and recalcitrant Diminishers. Lively, real-world case studies and practical tips and techniques bring to life each of these principles, showing you how to become a Multiplier too, whether you are a new or an experienced manager. Just imagine what you could accomplish if you could harness all the energy and intelligence around you. Multipliers will show you how.

Book Everyday Leader

Download or read book Everyday Leader written by Frank Boudreau and published by Elm Hill. This book was released on 2019-08-13 with total page 130 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book is a collection of leadership thoughts and principles that I know you will connect with in some way. But it wasn't intended to be read cover to cover in one sitting. I recommend you consider it like a devotional that you pick up and read a couple of times a week. For things like this I generally set a repeating calendar notice to remind me to spend a few minutes getting a bit of a leadership nugget or shot in the arm, so to speak. You could pick it up daily and read the book in a little over three months. Or you could schedule a couple days a week and spread it out over a year. So that each nugget or morsel has some time to really sink in as you apply the principle within. Whatever your style is, I know you will get some value out of this book and I trust it will have a positive impact on your ability to lead your team. I have been a student of leadership for a very long time. I first read John Maxwell's book, "The 21 Irrefutable Laws of Leadership", in 1998. At the time I was a 30-year-old manager just a couple of years into my first leadership role. That book shifted gears for me and certainly had an impact on my ability to lead. Since then I've read so many good books on leadership and other related topics and benefitted from them. I've learned many approaches, habits, techniques, etc. on how to lead effectively. But then I had to learn how to apply those things to my circumstances and situations. So, for 2 decades I continued to read and apply, learn and apply, hear and apply and I continue to do so. And as I have learned I have always made it a priority to share what I learned with those around me. First as a peer, then as a boss, then as a certified life coach, and more recently as a certified leadership coach and teacher. With every opportunity I pour into anyone who showed a desire to learn and grow. I share my personal experiences of how I applied the principles that I had learned and would often recommend some of the books that helped me. But I never found the book that I was looking for. The book that would help people connect the widely written about principles to their everyday situations. It was the day-to-day application that only comes from experience and is best shared by stories and examples. For that reason, I wrote this book. It is a collection of many of the stories and illustrations I have shared over the years to help those hungry to learn and grow in their ability to lead. If you happen to be one of the many who read my blogs or social media posts over the years I want to thank you for listening and I pray that it encouraged you in some way to continue to grow and give your best to those who you were leading. If this is your first time reading my work, I pray that it will impact you in the same way.

The book provides tools for tackling the unique psychological and external challenges that everyday leaders face, and offers principles that they can adapt to their own situations. Dr. Ahron Friedberg, who regularly advises leaders and would-be leaders, emphasizes the social aspect of leadership, and explores how those who are new to leadership – and those in established positions – can leverage their support networks and thrive in their roles. The book follows the experience of real people who have faced leadership challenges and learned from them, demonstrating how readers can learn from these examples and apply them to their own circumstances. Guided by a practical leadership roadmap, chapters examine concepts such as vision, determination, flexibility, planning, organization, and responsibility using extensive case studies, with reflective questions and key takeaways that help the reader consider how to apply these principles to their own leadership challenges. Book Start with Why

Download or read book Start with Why written by Simon Sinek and published by Penguin. This book was released on 2011-12-27 with total page 257 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The inspirational bestseller that ignited a movement and asked us to find our WHY Discover the book that is captivating millions on TikTok and that served as the basis for one of the most popular TED Talks of all time—with more than 56 million views and counting. Over a decade ago, Simon Sinek started a movement that inspired millions to demand purpose at work, to ask what was the WHY of their organization. Since then, millions have been touched by the power of his ideas, and these ideas remain as relevant and timely as ever. START WITH WHY asks (and answers) the questions: why are some people and organizations more innovative, more influential, and more profitable than others? Why do some command greater loyalty from customers and employees alike? Even among the successful, why are so few able to repeat their success over and over? People like Martin Luther King Jr., Steve Jobs, and the Wright Brothers had little in common, but they all started with WHY. They realized that people won't truly buy into a product, service, movement, or idea until they understand the WHY behind it. START WITH WHY shows that the leaders who have had the greatest influence in the world all think, act and communicate the same way—and it's the opposite of what everyone else does. Sinek calls this powerful idea The Golden Circle, and it provides a framework upon which organizations can be built, movements can be led, and people can be inspired. And it all starts with WHY.

Book Leadership in Everyday Life

Download or read book Leadership in Everyday Life written by Lmsw Raymer and published by Strategic Book Publishing. This book was released on 2011 with total page 59 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: A life well-lived requires courage, insight and the ability to see one's self as a leader, not a follower. Leadership is not just for CEOs - leadership is an essential quality for successful everyday life. The ability to lead and role model for others positively influences the outcomes of all human interactions. As therapists who work with the terminally ill and their families, the authors have observed that many people come to the end of their lives with numerous regrets. Their regrets are usually about situations they didn't take charge of even though they knew they needed to. This book follows six individuals who are facing challenges in their lives. It shows how they exhibited leadership traits that moved them forward to better places than where they had been before. Through their stories we are challenged and inspired to examine our personal obstacles, and use the illustrated key constructs of leadership to improve the quality of our own lives.
