Book Fluent Everyday English

Download or read book Fluent Everyday English written by Steven Collins and published by . This book was released on 2020-09 with total page 0 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Fluent Everyday English is the fourth and final book in the Practical Everyday English series. These self-study books are designed to improve the everyday vocabulary of adult advanced students of English as a foreign language; they are particularly useful for people who live in the United Kingdom or use English on a daily basis either at work or college. The idea behind them is to improve the fluency and knowledge of people who already have much more than just a basic level of English. This final book in the series follows the same format as the previous three titles (Practical Everyday English; Advanced Everyday English; High-level Everyday English); that is: clear explanations of meanings; realistic examples containing words and idioms previously taught; dialogues and exercises. If you have followed the Everyday English course right from the beginning of book 1 (Practical Everyday English) through to book 3 (High-level Everyday English), you shouldn't find Fluent Everyday English any more difficult than the others. My hope, in fact, is that you really enjoy studying this book and feel that it helps you acquire a very high level of English vocabulary.

Book Advanced Everyday English

Download or read book Advanced Everyday English written by Steven Collins and published by Montserrat Publishing. This book was released on 2011 with total page 152 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: "Advanced Everyday English is designed in very much the same mode as the first book (Practical Everyday English with audio CD) in that all of the examples will contain vocabulary and expressions you have studied on earlier pages. You will also find many words from the first book, which will give you an opportunity to revise the material. In this second book there is more of what one might call "serious" vocabulary, but there are plenty of phrasal verbs and idioms as well. The book will be of particular benefit to those readers with an advanced level of English who wish to become (or who already are) interpreters, translators or teachers of English, or who simply want to be able to speak and understand English at a very high level. In addition, people who need to read English language journals or converse in English on a daily basis, either in business or for pleasure, will find it very useful."--Publisher's description.

Book Everyday English Vocabulary Book 2

Download or read book Everyday English Vocabulary Book 2 written by A Mustafaoglu and published by Independently Published. This book was released on 2023-11-02 with total page 0 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Care to have a good command of spoken English? If you're willing to, look no further. You're in good hands now! As a matter of fact, listening comes on top of the list when it comes to mastering a second language (this is how we learned our first language in the first place). Thus, exposing ourselves to extended periods of audible language input can never be underestimated. Besides, if we're keen to take our spoken English to the next level, we are expected to focus on the language as a whole. In other words, it pays to study the grammar, the vocabulary, the phrasal verbs, the idioms as well as the slang form of the language. Accordingly, the more engaging and effective the material is, the faster we're going to learn and develop, and here this book comes into play. Everyday English Vocabulary is a carefully selected collection of handy and commonly used phrases in English that need to be carefully considered if the learner is serious about being confident and fluent in English. In fact, some must-learn phrases can never be acquired unless they are learned in practice, i.e. in conversations. For example, we say "don't add insult to injury" to tell someone not make a bad situation worse. Such idiomatic phrases need to be presented and practiced through different conversations and situations to be fully understood. Hence, Everyday English Vocabulary is mainly designed to serve this purpose.
