Book A Biblical Case for Women Pastors Elders and Deacons

Download or read book A Biblical Case for Women Pastors Elders and Deacons written by Seth M. Knorr and published by Eleutheros Publishing. This book was released on 2023-04-01 with total page 264 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: An argument for Women Pastors, Elders, and Deacons based solely on the Bible and backed by historical evidence. After discovering a textual variant in early Greek manuscripts, which were supported by early Greek scripture quotations from the early church fathers, the author realized this variant reading provides the important context which reverses how many are currently understanding Paul’s apparent prohibition of women teaching in the pastoral epistles. The discovery of this variant completely changed the authors thinking and prompted a thorough study of the topic. Setting cultural arguments aside and relying solely on the text of Scripture, this book answers the critical question: Do these passages prevent women from being pastors, elders, and/or deacons? After an in-depth study, the author concluded that there is zero biblical evidence based on the original text of Scripture to support prohibiting women from holding leadership positions of pastor, elder, or deacon in the church.

Deacon Rick says this about his homilies: "It is always my hope to make Scripture come alive for the congregation. I want them to hear the message of the Word presented in a new way. My ultimate goal is to offer them practical application-to give them real ways to live out the gospel message in their everyday lives." People relate well to Deacon Rick's homilies. He shares stories of his childhood. He incorporates the joys and challenges of being a husband, father, and educator into his homilies. He has experienced what those sitting in the pews have experienced, and he reads and interprets Scripture through the lens of that experience.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In the stories by Anton Chekhov there is no seriousness of the plot, as in Dostoevsky’s novels, but together with simplicity and funny side of everyday life Chekhov’s characters are not less dramatic or deep. However, polished sarcasm is not an obstacle for Chekhov to show his characters in a warm and realistic way. There is no grotesque of Saltikov-Schedrin who turns people into images; we can recognise an ordinary modern man on the pages of Chekhov’s stories.
