Download or read book Evaluation of Ground Water Resources Vol 5 written by and published by Forgotten Books. This book was released on 2018-01-12 with total page 78 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Excerpt from Evaluation of Ground Water Resources, Vol. 5: Sonoma County Alexander Valley and the Healdsburg area (figures 1 and 2) have been experiencing a general population increase, as has all of Sonoma County. Because the popu lation has increased, so has the demand for water. Ground water, water stored underground in permeable rock or soil formations, plays an important role in meeting this demand. More than water wells have been identified in Sonoma County, of which about are in Alexander Valley and the Healdsburg area. Ground water accounts for about 60 percent of the total water demand for the middle Russian and Dry Creek units of the Russian River service area (finlayson, 1980; see references at end of report). Ground water is used for domestic, municipal, industrial, and agricultural purposes. The cities of Cloverdale and Healdsburg rely principally on ground water to meet municipal water needs. This book was released on 2018-03-03 with total page 96 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Excerpt from Evaluation of Ground Water Resources, Vol. 4: Sonoma County; Sonoma Valley The results of the study are presented in four volumes. This report is Volume 4 and describes ground water conditions in the Sonoma Valley. Volume 2 deals with the Santa Rosa Plain, Volume 3 with the Petaluma Valley, and Volume 5 with the Alexander Valley and Healdsburg area. The present study is designed to augment the earlier county-wide investigation of geology and hydrology conducted jointly by the Sonoma County Planning Department and dwr. Results of the earlier investigation were published as dwr Bulletin 118-4, Volume 1 (ford, This report on the Sonoma Valley includes an evaluation of geologic and hydrologic characteristics of the ground water basin, an evaluation of the volume of usable ground water in the basin and the volume that can reasonably be extracted, possible changes in water quality resulting from pumping of ground water, an evaluation of the interconnection of ground and surface water, and the potential for artificial recharge of the ground water basin. This book was released on 2017-12-20 with total page 178 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Excerpt from Evaluation of Ground Water Resources: Livermore and Sunol Valleys The report concludes that a verified mathematical model of the Livermore Valley ground water basin has been achieved and recommends that additional studies evaluate how ground water can be used along with other water sources to meet future water demands. Also recom mended are studies to evaluate water quality changes that could occur in response to changes in pumping and recharge. In addition, modifi cations of water quality and measurement programs are suggested. The results of Operations-economics studies recommended will be of significant use to local government in making decisions on conservation, development and use of the County's water resources. Book Riverbank Filtration Hydrology

Download or read book Riverbank Filtration Hydrology written by Stephen A. Hubbs and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2007-11-04 with total page 353 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Riverbank Filtration (RBF) has gained popularity in the past decade as an excellent source of high quality water for public water supply. This text compliments the existing literature on RBF water quality, and provides much-need guidance in the design and operation of RBF facilities. RBF has proven effective in many hydrogeological settings worldwide, and can be an excellent solution to water supply problems in both developed and developing countries. Topics covered include surface stream hydrology, particle clogging, and biological/geochemical processes. Data and case histories are provided from dozens of installations, providing much-needed practical information regarding RBF design, operation, and performance. This book provides the necessary tools to evaluate potential RBF sites, and is a must-have if you are considering RBF as a source of water supply.
