Book The National Incinerator Testing and Evaluation Program

Download or read book The National Incinerator Testing and Evaluation Program written by Flakt Canada Ltd and published by . This book was released on 1986 with total page 100 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: A series of comprehensive tests on two pilot-scale air pollution control systems were conducted. The tests were designed to determine thecapability of these systems to control emissions of dioxins, other traceorganics, metals and acid gases. Field testing was completed inAugust/September, 1985, for two different designs: one using a wet-dryscrubber plus fabric filter and the other using a dry scrubber plus fabricfilter. Many different operating conditions were tested to identify optimum removal efficiencies for all pollutants of concern. Final resultswere very significant. Fluid gas temperature was found to be an importantoperating variable for achieving high removal efficiency for many of thepollutants measured.

Book Computerized Design and Cost Estimation for Multiple hearth Sludge Incinerators

Download or read book Computerized Design and Cost Estimation for Multiple hearth Sludge Incinerators written by Walter Unterberg and published by . This book was released on 1972 with total page 184 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: A digital computer program was developed for the preliminary design and cost estimation of an optimum multiple-hearth-furnace system for sewage sludge incineration. The program was primarily based on field data from nine operating plants, each having one to four furnaces. The individual furnaces covered a range in capacity from 200 to 4500 lb dry solids per hours. Operating schedules and thermal cycling were considered, and costs were normalized to 1969 dollars. The computer program provides the number, dimensions and ratings of components; expenditures of labor, fuel and power; and all the cost elements for an incineration system which is to process a given flow of sludge having specified characteristics. Cost breakdowns are calculated for capital, total cost per annum and total cost per ton dry solids incinerated. The computer program may also be used for the thermal analysis of a multiple-hearth furnace incinerator without design and cost features.
