PATIENTS ET METHODES :11 s'agit d'une enquête descriptive réalisée au Centre Hospitalier du Belvédère pendant une période de un mois, sous forme d'auto-questionnaire distribué pendant le séjour à la maternité à toutes femmes accouchant d'un enfant vivant après 33 SA. Les caractéristiques de la population, les connaissances sur le rythme sommeil-veille et l'alimentation ont été analysées. RESULTATS :Les femmes sont âgées en moyenne de 29,1 ans. Elles sont en couple pour 96 %. Il s'agit de primipare ou de deuxième pare (83,7 %). Le taux de césarienne est de 12,3 %. Le pourcentage d'allaitement est de 65,4 %. 37,4 % ont reçu des informations sur les pleurs, 82,9 % sur l'allaitement et 81 % en sont satisfaites. 83,4 % des femmes pensent que l'acquisition des "nuits" se fait entre 1 et 3 mois. 74,9 % connaissent les pleurs du soir, mais seulement 40,8 % pensent que l'enfant est en phase d'éveil le soir. La diversification devrait avoir lieu entre 4-6 mois pour 82,7 %. Pour 59,7 % les préparations infantiles sont faites avec du lait de "synthèse". Les résultats des femmes donnant le biberon et celles qui allaitent ont été comparés. Les 2 groupes sont similaires sur la parité. La différence est significative entre les 2 groupes sur la douleur pendant la tétée, la durée du sommeil, les informations reçues et le fait de proposer à manger plus rapidement. Il n'y a pas de différences significatives entre les 2 groupes sur la durée de l'allaitement, sur la composition des préparations infantiles. CONCLUSION : Les femmes ont de bonnes connaissances sur la diversification et l'allaitement. Elles connaissent moins les phases d'éveil et de sommeil et leurs influences sur l'alimentation. Il est nécessaire de renforcer l'information en prénatal sur ces notions. Un accompagnement des parents dans le post partum est également nécessaire par le biais de consultations systématiques, d'associations, de brochures et de groupes de parentalité.
