Book excerpt: The Book is emerging a deeper sense of understanding the morphology of industrial districts in terms of their form, process, scale, statistics and dynamics to enable us to map out our approach for developing irregular dynamical industrial districts. Environmental condition of industrial district in developing countries is in perpetual change, which leads to the failure of the classical modernisation method in achieving their goals. Therefore, the need for dynamical and flexible system is very urgent in such conditions. The fractal modernisation method of industrial Areas, which created by this research is characterised by flexible urban modernisation system, hierarchical metamorphosis, information network and dynamical promotional system. As well as, featured by perpetual repetition of planning process on time by self-organisational structures. Those are features give this method its durability and capability to meet the actual and futuristic needs of randomly dynamical industrial districts of developing countries.

Book Modernization Science

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Depending on their national level of income, development and modernization, all countries in the world can be generally categorized as either advanced or developing. Studies on why advanced countries continue to develop, how they maintain their level of development, and how developing countries enter into the advanced club fall into the field of “modernization science,” which is an emerging interdisciplinary science. This monograph, the first English book available on “modernization science,” interprets its concepts, methodologies, general theories, first and second modernization, six level-specific, six field-specific and three sector-specific modernizations, modernization policy and evaluation, and the principles and methods of national development since the 18th century. It provides clear, systematic, up-to-date information on this new discipline with more than 173 figures and 265 tables, and covers 131 countries and 97% of the global population. A comprehensive outlook on world modernization is presented from a Chinese perspective.

Book An Evaluation of the Effectiveness of the Industrial Modernization Incentives Program IMIP

Download or read book An Evaluation of the Effectiveness of the Industrial Modernization Incentives Program IMIP written by David E. Spenny and published by . This book was released on 1986 with total page 88 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The Industrial Modernization Incentives Program (IMIP) is the first significant DOD attempt to provide a catalyst for defense contractors to modernize the defense industrial base. IMIP evolved from the Air Force's Technology Modernization (TECHNMOD) program that was designed to reduce weapon systems cost and strengthen the industrial base. While IMIP is maturing since its 1982 beginnings, standardized criteria for evaluating its effectiveness have been lacking. This second stage of research is built upon the study completed by Cooper and Houck, measuring the effectiveness of the industrial modernization incentives program. They identified nine criteria that were validated as useful tools in evaluating the effectiveness of IMIP. During the second stage, these criteria were applied to selected IMIP projects to see if IMIP reduces weapons systems cost and modernizes the U.S. defense industrial base. The nine criteria were rephrased into nine investigative questions. Results of the research indicate that two of the nine should always be used on a selected basis depending on the project being evaluated.
