Book excerpt: A partir de la reforma educativa en Chile de los años 90, de lo emitido por la OCDE sobre el sistema educativo chileno, surge la necesidad de garantizar una educación de calidad para los niños y niñas del país. Así, se ha hecho evidente la problemática de brindar apoyos a los estudiantes con necesidades educativas especiales que asisten a escuelas básicas y se educan en el aula común. Esto ha sido evidenciado en la ley general de educación al referirse de manera explícita a la modalidad educativa de "educación diferencial". Surgen documentos legales (Ley 20.201/2007; decreto 170/2009; Ley 20.370/2009; Ley 20.244/2010; decreto 83/2015; Ley 20.845/2016) que orientan el trabajo desde una perspectiva inclusiva. A través de estos cambios en la normativa, se ha buscado asegurar la progresión dentro del sistema educativo; por lo que existen especificaciones para el desarrollo de procesos diagnósticos, atención y evaluación; sin embargo, existe evidencia de que dificultades en la instalación, en relación a la evaluación de los aprendizajes, donde se identifica una distancia entre el discurso del Ministerio de Educación con respecto a la inclusión educativa y las prácticas evaluativas.
