Book The Joy of the Gospel

Download or read book The Joy of the Gospel written by Pope Francis and published by Image. This book was released on 2014-10-07 with total page 164 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The perfect gift! A specially priced, beautifully designed hardcover edition of The Joy of the Gospel with a foreword by Robert Barron and an afterword by James Martin, SJ. “The joy of the gospel fills the hearts and lives of all who encounter Jesus… In this Exhortation I wish to encourage the Christian faithful to embark upon a new chapter of evangelization marked by this joy, while pointing out new paths for the Church’s journey in years to come.” – Pope Francis This special edition of Pope Francis's popular message of hope explores themes that are important for believers in the 21st century. Examining the many obstacles to faith and what can be done to overcome those hurdles, he emphasizes the importance of service to God and all his creation. Advocating for “the homeless, the addicted, refugees, indigenous peoples, the elderly who are increasingly isolated and abandoned,” the Holy Father shows us how to respond to poverty and current economic challenges that affect us locally and globally. Ultimately, Pope Francis demonstrates how to develop a more personal relationship with Jesus Christ, “to recognize the traces of God’s Spirit in events great and small.” Profound in its insight, yet warm and accessible in its tone, The Joy of the Gospel is a call to action to live a life motivated by divine love and, in turn, to experience heaven on earth. Includes a foreword by Robert Barron, author of Catholicism: A Journey to the Heart of the Faith and James Martin, SJ, author of Jesus: A Pilgrimage

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Its essential to uncover the current malady affecting the organized Christian Church today, not its structuring and not necessarily its organizational approach, but present to it His solution, which has never been hidden or even veiled in His Word, which is that we must return to the true roots of Christianity, which is founded on the individual discipleship of each member of His body, just as Jesus designed it and modeled it for us while He ministered on this earth. It passed the acid test of resiliency when it was mercilessly persecuted, as its disciples applied the principles as instituted and instructed by our Lord for all of us to display and to do. I encourage anyone to do a Bible search for the word disciple and believer and see firsthand that these words are not interchangeable or used in the same context when referring to a specific person whos known to be committed to our Lord, versus referring to a generalization in the third person to someone or a group whos aware about the existence of the real living God. Gods remedy its still available today to anyone who truly desires to attain it and can decipher that its only through discipleship that a true believer is infected with the enthusiasm, zeal, and eagerness in the commitment to fulfill John 8:31 and Matthew 28:19, reaching to those around them who thirst and hunger for the things of God, and in that process, experience the life He promises we can live now. Its time to abandon, once and for all, the current practices of mass-producing supporters, and inscribe it into our minds that the Great Commission was not to make believers but to make disciples. The early church didn't churn out cheerleaders and advocates but bona fide disciples, taught and equipped according to Ephesians 6:1017, who then, as members of the body of Christ, led by example, transforming them into a formidable, most powerful and effective force the Roman Empire had ever seen. Again, I want to reiterate that I am not against the church, as organized by the apostles, but want to revolutionize it, where discipleship is the top priority and purpose for its existence. I am critical of the current organized version that has taken the place of the real church, that nowadays is wasting vast resources and investing them in huge entertainment amphitheaters, and often dilute, distort, and obscure the true message and method to attain this new life established by our Lord. Unless this change happens, we cant truly reach and change a lost world. Our Real Life in Christ seeks to help those who are experiencing that gnawing sensation that there is much more to Gods Word than what is being offered by those weekly sermons in churches today.

Book Why I Love the Apostle Paul

Download or read book Why I Love the Apostle Paul written by John Piper and published by Crossway. This book was released on 2019-01-17 with total page 178 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: "Besides Jesus, no one has kept me from despair, or taken me deeper into the mysteries of the gospel, than the apostle Paul." —John Piper No one has had a greater impact on the world for eternal good than the apostle Paul—except Jesus himself. For John Piper, this impact is very personal. He does not just admire and trust Paul. He loves him. Piper gives us thirty glimpses into why his heart and mind respond this way. Can a Christian-killer really endure 195 lashes from a heart of love? Can a mystic who thinks he was caught up into heaven be a model of lucid rationality? Can an ethnocentric Jew write the most beautiful call to reconciliation? Can a person who lives with the unceasing anguish of empathy be always rejoicing? Can a man's description of the horrors of human sin be exceeded by his delight in human splendor? Can a man with a backbone of steel be as tender as a nursing mother? If we know this man—if we see what Piper sees—we too will love him. Paul's testimony is a matter of life and death. Piper invites you into his relationship with Paul in the hope that you will know life, forever.

This book was released on 2014-12-09 with total page 102 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book is all about the revelation that God gave to me in a dream to the Church. The message is how the Church, the body of Christ should live a successful Christian life. God is telling the Church today that to live a Successful Christian life, the body of Christ must run away from evil, to embrace holiness and righteousness in a personal walk with Him. The Church is encouraged to go back to the basics which are the Word of God and to be Christ followers who practice His Word. The Word of God is the foundation of Christianity. Where the Church has lost it, God is calling His Church for true repentance to receive His forgiveness because He is willing to forgive His Church.. The Church today need to hear messages from the pulpit about holiness and righteousness to draw near to God. The introductory chapter attempts to define success and successful as viewed by the secular world and as explain by the Holy Bible, the Word of God. The secular world has a view of what success is all about. More often than not, the world view, definition of success leads to a meaningless life. Success as explained by the Word of God in the Holy Bible and revealed to the world by our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ leads to a meaningful successful living. The concept of living a successful Christian life as revealed by the Word of God is discussed. Here, ample scriptural keys to living a successful Christian life are explored. The book also deals with examples of people who successfully worked with God in the Holy Bible. It is clear that Christian's have no excuse not to follow the precepts ordered by God and further expounded on by Jesus Christ. It is possible to work with God and be successful, by His grace. Combining the scriptural keys and the examples of those that successfully worked with God should provide us with the needed impetus to live a successful Christian Life. Critical success factors in addition to the above are further discussed in this book. These are fearing the Lord God Almighty, knowing the Lord Jesus Christ, and honoring your father and mother. "The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom; a good understanding have all they that do his commandments: his praise endureth forever." (Psalms 111:10 KJV). Divine understanding and wisdom comes from the power that is in the Word of God. To know Jesus Christ is the key to success and through Him the Church is made righteous. To live a long and satisfying life we must honor our fathers and mothers! My prayers are for you to read and meditate on this book, but keep in mind that the Holy Bible must always remain the primary guide of the Church. And by using this guide, I have no doubt that not only will you experience visible changes in your walk with Christ, it will also ultimately lead you to become a successful Christian by His grace. "Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man. For God shall bring every work into judgment, with every secret thing, whether it be good, or whether it be evil." (Ecclesiastes 12:13-14 KJV). To live a successful Christian life is challenging but is possible by His grace. When a Christian takes the right decision to live for God, he or she realizes that there is no better life outside following Jesus Christ. Let us not be fooled by the glamour and the illusions of wealth, fame and self-righteousness or be religious without the power of God. Now is the time to decide to follow God; the alternative will lead to nowhere - a life in cycles. "And now dear brothers and sisters one final thing; Fix your thoughts on what is true and honorable, and right and pure, and lovely, and admirable. Think about things that are excellent and worthy of praise." (Philippians 4:8NLT). I sincerely pray for you and all reading this book that God in His infinite mercies will grant you the grace to live a successful Christian life, by the power of Holy Spirit. Amen.
