Book European Financial Reporting

Download or read book European Financial Reporting written by Peter J. Walton and published by . This book was released on 1995 with total page 312 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: European Financial Reporting: A History is primarily a reference work for those interested in financial accounting and reporting. It is the first English language source that analyses the historical development of accounting in different European countries, and thereby provides relevant material for the study of comparative international accounting. Because the sum of accounting practices in any jurisdiction at any time represents an accumulation of past decisions, reactions to past events and initiatives in the past which have occurred in relation to an evolving social and economic culture, it follows that to study the accounting of the present, one must study the accounting of the past, and this book makes a first attempt to provide material which will help in that aim.

Book Kingdom of Netherlands

Download or read book Kingdom of Netherlands written by International Monetary Fund and published by International Monetary Fund. This book was released on 2011-06-21 with total page 69 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The Netherlands has been heavily affected by the global financial crisis. The “Twin Peaks” supervision model, with Netherlands Central Bank - De Nederlandsche Bank (DNB) as the prudential supervisor, and the Authority for Financial Markets (AFM) responsible for conduct-of-business supervision, was severely tested, although the case for the model remains strong. The crisis has shown that these institutions bring sizable risks, which requires careful and comprehensive monitoring and supervision. The findings of the Financial Stability Assessment Program (FSAP) are summarized. Top-down stress tests were conducted. Supervisory colleges are an important innovation to reinforce home-host coordination for supervisors of large complex financial institutions (LCFIs).

Book Kingdom of the Netherlands Netherlands

Download or read book Kingdom of the Netherlands Netherlands written by International Monetary Fund. European Dept. and published by International Monetary Fund. This book was released on 2014-12-05 with total page 66 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This Selected Issues paper analyzes the housing prices, consumption, and the household debt overhang in the Netherlands. Deflated housing prices that were fueled by robust borrowing often leave in their wake households with heavy debt burden. This “debt overhang” forces households into deleveraging—reducing their level of debt to sustainable levels. When deleveraging is brought about through reduced household consumption, it can contribute to a protracted “balance sheet recession” as appears to be the case in the Netherlands. This paper estimates a simultaneous equations model of the Dutch economy using a three-stage least squares approach. Empirical results are supportive of the hypothesis that housing prices strongly affect private consumption.

This book was released on 2021-11-15 with total page 61 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The Dutch economy was more resilient than the average Euro area economy in 2020 owing in part to a high rate of digitalization of activities that allowed a large share of the work force to work remotely, while the strong policy response mitigated the impact of containment measures. A strong recovery is underway, with pre-pandemic GDP level to be exceeded in 2021:Q4, and the labor market has tightened considerably. The economy is forecast to grow by 4.0 percent in 2021 and 3.3 percent in 2022, on the back of strong consumption and investment, supported by increasing coverage of vaccines. Near-term risks to the outlook are roughly balanced, driven by the uncertain trajectory of the pandemic on the downside, while a fuller than expected drawdown of savings accumulated in the pandemic would further support domestic demand and growth. Further out, real estate market developments present additional risks.

Book Report on the Dutch economy

Download or read book Report on the Dutch economy written by Arne Noack and published by GRIN Verlag. This book was released on 2003-10-01 with total page 21 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Seminar paper from the year 2003 in the subject Economics - Case Scenarios, grade: A, Vrije University Brussel (Vesalius College), language: English, abstract: The Dutch empire had played a quite big role in the worlds politics and economics in the end of the 18th and the beginning of the 19th century. The Netherlands held a prospering empire with flourishing trade. With the beginning of the Industrialisation the Netherlands fell back in international competitiveness. The Dutch economy experienced a great boom 1945 after the second world war on the base of chemical and Electro-Industry. However the development of the Netherlands differed from most European countries. This essay intends to describe the Dutch economy during the 1990 to the millennium. What production of goods is it specialised on and how is this production process organised? Is this economy able to address the needs of the Dutch population or is there even a lack of some goods? The following report tries to find answers to these questions by highlighting specific attributes of the Dutch economy. By describing the development of the past decade it might be possible to give a brief forecast on the Netherlands’ level of prosperity for the forthcoming five years in the end of this essay. The Netherlands are located in the West of Europe. Compared to the rest of the world, the area of the Netherlands is relatively small with only 41 526 km2 , which means it takes ranks no. 132 in the world scale. Nevertheless the inhabitants are relatively numerous with 16.1 million people in 2002. This creates a high population density of 386 inhabitants per km2. As pointed out in the essay this fact creates a good market for the Dutch economy. The neighbours are Belgium in the South and Germany in the East. The North Sea is located on the Northwest coast of the country. The Dutch capital is the Amsterdam, while the seat of the government is located in the city of Den Haag. [...]
