Book Etude exp rimentale d un r gime de combustion dilu e dans une configuration contre courant

Download or read book Etude exp rimentale d un r gime de combustion dilu e dans une configuration contre courant written by Philipp Bauer and published by . This book was released on 2006 with total page 230 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle.

Book Physical Control Methods in Plant Protection

Download or read book Physical Control Methods in Plant Protection written by Charles Vincent and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2013-06-29 with total page 322 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Jointly published with INRA, Paris. Pesticide resistance is becoming more frequent and widespread with more than 500 insect species known to have become resistant to synthetic insecticides. On the other hand, consumers increasingly demand agricultural products without any pesticide residues. This book, for the first time, shows the alternative: solely physical methods for plant protection by means of thermal, electromagnetic, mechanical and vacuum processes. A glossary rounds up this extremely valuable book.

Download or read book Rational Pesticide Use written by Keith Joseph Brent and published by Cambridge University Press. This book was released on 1987-09-17 with total page 366 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: There is growing concern among scientists, farmers and the general public that pesticides are being applied ever more widely but with less and less discretion. This book brings together a range of experts to discuss how crop protection chemicals can be used more rationally, so as to maximise benefits in yield and quality while minimising environmental and economic costs. The book is based on the ninth Long Ashton Symposium and is organised into four sections. The first, environment, examines to what extent current pesticide use is affecting the environment and human welfare, and what changes in practice are justified. The second, application, assesses progress in performance and safety in the use of pesticides, while the next section, resistance, looks at problems and shortcomings arising from the appearance of resistant strains of pests, and considers strategies for surmounting these difficulties. The final section, forecast and pest management, asks whether existing methods of assessing risks are acceptable and seeks ways of rending decision making in crop protection more rational.

Book Progress in Chemical Toxicology

Download or read book Progress in Chemical Toxicology written by Abraham Stolman and published by Elsevier. This book was released on 2013-10-22 with total page 406 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Progress in Chemical Toxicology, Volume 5 covers topics on the improved isolation and detection procedures and quantitation methods for volatile poisons, stimulants, hallucinogenic drugs, and marihuana. The book discusses the absorption, distribution, and excretion of drugs and poisons and their metabolites; the system for the toxicological analysis of drugs in biological specimens; and the isolation and analysis of phenothiazines. The text also describes the use of fluorescence in toxicology and the toxicology of new synthetic organic polymers used in containers for food, pharmaceutical compounds, and drinkable water. Some microcrystal tests for drugs and advances in polarography as applied to toxicological analysis are also considered. Biochemists, toxicologists, and scientists involved in the study of narcotics will find the book invaluable.

Book Lead Poisoning in Childhood

Download or read book Lead Poisoning in Childhood written by Siegfried M. Pueschel and published by Brookes Publishing Company. This book was released on 1996 with total page 266 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This resource examines the causes and consequences of childhood lead poisoning, offers cost-effective prevention strategies, and explores crucial legislation that can and should protect children at risk. Information on screening tests, nutrition, treatment guidelines, and safe environmental abatement techniques will help pediatricians, physicians, social workers, and nurses understand, treat, and eliminate lead poisoning in children.
