Book excerpt: Dans ce travail, une machine synchrone à aimants permanents a été étudiée pour fonctionner lorsque les limitations de la source d'alimentation (en tension et en courant) imposent une réduction de flux résultant. Nous avons tout d'abord décrit les équations nécessaires à l'étude de la machine contrôlée par les courants afin de comprendre globalement les rapports nécessaires entre les paramètres caractéristiques de la machine. Nous nous sommes particulièrement intéressés au régime saturé. Nous avons ensuite étudié les contraintes imposées par le fonctionnement en réduction de flux dans quelques structures typiques de machine à aimants. Dans le troisième chapitre, une structure à concentration de flux a été développée à l'aide d'un logiciel de calcul de champs par la méthode des éléments finis, nous permettant de prendre correctement en compte la saturation du circuit magnétique. Finalement, un prototype a été construit et caractérisé dans le quatrième chapitre. Les mesures de tensions faites à vide et en charge (courant en quadrature ou en conditions de réduction de flux), ainsi que les mesures des inductances et des pertes, nous permettent d'affirmer que le prototype est approprié au fonctionnement en tension et courant limités.
