Por eso tenemos que repensar el aprendizaje de las matemáticas no sólo preocupados por el potencial matemático que adquieren cuando comprenden los números y el significado de las operaciones que hacen con ellos, si no también por el potencial global que adquieren como personas; personas capaces de pensar por ellas mismas en entornos complejos, sintiéndose capaces para tomar decisiones propias; personas capaces de usar fuentes de información y de elaborar y controlar estrategias de acuerdo con sus propósitos.
