No Brasil, registramos um acidente laboral a cada 49 segundos, isso corresponde a 4,7 milhões de acidentes de trabalho em uma taxa de seis mortes a cada 100 mil trabalhadores somente no mercado de trabalho formal no período de 2012 a 2018, colocando nosso país como a quarta nação que mais acidenta trabalhador no mundo, atrás apenas da China, da Índia e da Indonésia. Além do sofrimento, os acidentes do trabalho impactam diretamente a economia na casa de R$ 22 bilhões, devido aos afastamentos de empregados de suas funções após sofrerem ferimentos durante o trabalho. Se fossem incluídos os casos de acidentes em ocupações informais, esse número poderia chegar a R$ 40 bilhões, segundo levantamento da Organização Internacional do Trabalho (OIT) e Observatório de Segurança e Saúde no Trabalho do Ministério Público do Trabalho (MPT). Nesse contexto, este livro tem o objetivo de analisar a contribuição da capa citação em saúde e segurança como uma estratégia viável de prevenção de acidentes do trabalho. Quanto à metodologia, este estudo descritivo foi realizado com um enfoque quantitativo, utilizando para coletas de dados técnicas de análise documental, observação e emprego de questionário.
