Book Data Driven Controller Design

Download or read book Data Driven Controller Design written by Alexandre Sanfelice Bazanella and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2011-11-16 with total page 222 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Data-Based Controller Design presents a comprehensive analysis of data-based control design. It brings together the different data-based design methods that have been presented in the literature since the late 1990’s. To the best knowledge of the author, these data-based design methods have never been collected in a single text, analyzed in depth or compared to each other, and this severely limits their widespread application. In this book these methods will be presented under a common theoretical framework, which fits also a large family of adaptive control methods: the MRAC (Model Reference Adaptive Control) methods. This common theoretical framework has been developed and presented very recently. The book is primarily intended for PhD students and researchers - senior or junior - in control systems. It should serve as teaching material for data-based and adaptive control courses at the graduate level, as well as for reference material for PhD theses. It should also be useful for advanced engineers willing to apply data-based design. As a matter of fact, the concepts in this book are being used, under the author’s supervision, for developing new software products in a automation company. The book will present simulation examples along the text. Practical applications of the concepts and methodologies will be presented in a specific chapter.

Book System Identification and Robust Control

Download or read book System Identification and Robust Control written by Steen Toffner-Clausen and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2012-12-06 with total page 317 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The series Advances in Industrial Control aims to report and encourage technology transfer in control engineering. The rapid development of control technology impacts all areas of the control discipline. New theory, new controllers, actuators, sensors, new industrial processes, computer methods, new applications, new philosophies, ... , new challenges. Much of this development work resides in industrial reports, feasibility study papers and the reports of advanced collaborative projects. The series offers an opportunity for researchers to present an extended exposition of such new work in all aspects of industrial control for wider and rapid dissemination. The present text Steen T0ffner-Clausen deals with both system identification and robust control. It provides a very comprehensive tutorial introduction to some of the most difficult topics in robust control theory before considering applications problems. Traditional Hoo robust control design concepts for multivariable systems are first considered and the problems of robust stability and performance are discussed. The following chapter introduces the idea of the structured singular value and applies this to both analysis and synthesis problems. The author manages to provide a very straightforward introduction to this subject and also introduces some new ideas.

Book Design of Robust Controllers Frequency Domain Methods and Their Non Linear Extensions

Download or read book Design of Robust Controllers Frequency Domain Methods and Their Non Linear Extensions written by and published by . This book was released on 1999 with total page 16 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The accomplishments were to extend H(infinity) control in new directions: (1) non-linear control. Theoretical work gave algorithms for determining in real time key properties (the state) of a system one tries to control. Purely numerical work gave a "turnkey" methodology for designing optimal controllers for the compressor stall problem. Mathematically related was numerical solution of the extremely hard path planning problem, biped motion, a "5-link robot". (2) Computer algebra methods appropriate for systems which are aggregates of smaller systems (commercial computer algebra packages now do not do this). (3) One of the most common techniques now used for performance optimization (co-ordinate descent applied to matrix inequalities) and show that it gives the wrong answer with probability one. Also results give a test to see how far off (local optimum) this is.

Book Parametric Uncertainty Reduction in Robust Multivariable Control

Download or read book Parametric Uncertainty Reduction in Robust Multivariable Control written by David Lawrence Krueger and published by . This book was released on 1993 with total page 94 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This dissertation presents a method for reducing the number of parametric uncertainties used in the design of a robust H-infinity controller. The resulting controller is shown to meet robust stability and performance requirements in the presence of all the modeled uncertainties. The approach used involves grouping parametric variations affecting the same open loop eigenvalue, then scaling one or more of these variations to accommodate the eigenvalue change caused by all the parametric uncertainties. This method is effective in those cases where a large number of parametric uncertainties cause current computer aided design software to fail to find a robust controller for the plant.

Book Feedback Control Theory

Download or read book Feedback Control Theory written by John C. Doyle and published by Courier Corporation. This book was released on 2013-04-09 with total page 264 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: An excellent introduction to feedback control system design, this book offers a theoretical approach that captures the essential issues and can be applied to a wide range of practical problems. Its explorations of recent developments in the field emphasize the relationship of new procedures to classical control theory, with a focus on single input and output systems that keeps concepts accessible to students with limited backgrounds. The text is geared toward a single-semester senior course or a graduate-level class for students of electrical engineering. The opening chapters constitute a basic treatment of feedback design. Topics include a detailed formulation of the control design program, the fundamental issue of performance/stability robustness tradeoff, and the graphical design technique of loopshaping. Subsequent chapters extend the discussion of the loopshaping technique and connect it with notions of optimality. Concluding chapters examine controller design via optimization, offering a mathematical approach that is useful for multivariable systems.

Book Control and Estimation of Piecewise Affine Systems

Download or read book Control and Estimation of Piecewise Affine Systems written by Jun Xu and published by Elsevier. This book was released on 2014-04-21 with total page 253 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: As a powerful tool to study nonlinear systems and hybrid systems, piecewise affine (PWA) systems have been widely applied to mechanical systems. Control and Estimation of Piecewise Affine Systems presents several research findings relating to the control and estimation of PWA systems in one unified view. Chapters in this title discuss stability results of PWA systems, using piecewise quadratic Lyapunov functions and piecewise homogeneous polynomial Lyapunov functions. Explicit necessary and sufficient conditions for the controllability and reachability of a class of PWA systems are considered along with controller and estimator design methods for PWA systems using linear matrix inequality (LMI) and bilinear matrix inequality (BMI) techniques. A PWA approach to a class of Takagi-Sugeno fuzzy system is discussed in depth. The book uses a number of mechanical systems, such as disk servo systems to illustrate the advantages of the proposed methods. Provides new insights on properties of PWA systems, including stability, stabilizability, reachability and controllability Presents a unified framework for analysis and synthesis of both continuous-time and discrete-time PWA systems Presents novel approaches for stability analysis and control design based on the promising SOS techniques
