Download or read book Pour une esth tique de la r ception written by Hans Robert Jauss and published by Editions Gallimard. This book was released on 1978 with total page 320 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle.

This book was released on 2004 with total page 264 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle.

Book Diderot

Download or read book Diderot written by Christina Vogel and published by Peter Lang Group Ag, International Academic Publishers. This book was released on 1993 with total page 156 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle.

Book Reflections on Aesthetic Judgment and other Essays

Download or read book Reflections on Aesthetic Judgment and other Essays written by Benjamin Tilghman and published by Routledge. This book was released on 2017-11-28 with total page 289 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Benjamin Tilghman has been a leading commentator on analytic philosophy for many years. This book brings together his most significant and influential work on aesthetics. Spanning a period of thirty years and covering topics in aesthetics from literature to painting, the collection traces the development of Tilghman's two principal themes; a rejection of philosophical theory as a way of resolving problems about our understanding and appreciation of art and the importance of the representation and presentation of the human and human concerns in art. Tilghman is profoundly influenced by the philosophy of Ludwig Wittgenstein and his work is informed throughout by his conception and practice of philosophy. Written with exceptional clarity and with many references to original work in both painting and literature, this collection will be an invaluable resource not only for professional philosophers but for those working in the arts generally, art historians, critics and literary theorists.

Book La critique litt raire

Download or read book La critique litt raire written by Roger Fayolle and published by Paris, A. Colin [1964]. This book was released on 1964 with total page 438 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle.

Book The Notion of the A Priori

Download or read book The Notion of the A Priori written by Mikel Dufrenne and published by Northwestern University Press. This book was released on 2009-02-26 with total page 286 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Originally published in 1966, this pivotal work of Mikel Dufrenne revises Kant’s notion of a priori, a concept previously given insufficient attention by philosophers, to realize a rich understanding that finally does justice to one of Kant’s most troubling cruxes. Following the Husserlian analytics of phenomenology, Dufrenne postulates a dualistic conception of the a priori as a structure that expresses itself outside the human subject, but also as a virtual knowledge that points to a philosophy of immediate apprehension or feeling. A friend of Paul Ricoeur, with whom he was detained as a prisoner of war during World War II, Dufrenne’s work until now has been sorely overlooked by American philosophers.

Book Russian migr s in the Intellectual and Literary Life of Interwar France

Download or read book Russian migr s in the Intellectual and Literary Life of Interwar France written by Leonid Livak and published by McGill-Queen's Press - MQUP. This book was released on 2010-07-01 with total page 584 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In a pioneering exploration of the intellectual and literary exchange between Russian émigrés and French intelligentsia in the 1920s and 1930s, Leonid Livak provides an impressively comprehensive bibliographic overview of a veritable "who's who" of Russian intellectuals and literati, listing all the material published by Russian émigrés or on topics pertaining to them during the period under study. Focusing attention on a largely ignored chapter of European cultural history, this volume challenges historical assumptions by demonstrating processes of cultural cross-fertilization and illuminates the precedents Russians set for political exiles in the twentieth century. A remarkable achievement in scholarship, Russian Émigrés in the Intellectual and Literary Life of Inter-War France is a valuable resource for admirers and researchers of French and Russian culture and European intellectual history.
