Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: A major contribution to ecumenical reflection on the doctrine of God. The past century has seen renewed interest in the doctrine of God. While theological traditions disagree, their shared commitment to Nicene orthodoxy provides a common language for thinking and speaking about God. This dialogue has deepened our understanding of this shared way of thinking about God, but little has been done across ecumenical lines to explore God's hiddenness in revelation. In Hidden and Revealed, Dmytro Bintsarovskyi explores the hiddenness and revelation of God in two separate theological streams—Reformed and Orthodox. Bintsarovskyi shows that an understanding of both traditions reflects a deep structure of shared language, history, and commitments, while nevertheless reflecting real differences. With Herman Bavinck and John Meyendorff as his guides, Bintsarovskyi advances ecumenical dialogue on a doctrine central to our knowledge of God.

Download or read book Parmenides written by Martin Heidegger and published by Indiana University Press. This book was released on 1998-07-22 with total page 192 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Parmenides, a lecture course delivered by Martin Heidegger at the University of Freiburg in 1942-1943, presents a highly original interpretation of ancient Greek philosophy. A major contribution to Heidegger's provocative dialogue with the pre-Socratics, the book attacks some of the most firmly established conceptions of Greek thinking and of the Greek world. The central theme is the question of truth and the primordial understanding of truth to be found in Parmenides' "didactic poem." Heidegger highlights the contrast between Greek and Roman thought and the reflection of that contrast in language. He analyzes the decline in the primordial understanding of truth—and, just as importantly, of untruth—that began in later Greek philosophy and that continues, by virtue of the Latinization of the West, down to the present day. Beyond an interpretation of Greek philosophy, Parmenides (volume 54 of Heidegger's Collected Works) offers a strident critique of the contemporary world, delivered during a time that Heidegger described as "out of joint."

Attaining to the precepts and concepts of joy will bring a calmness of mind and heart; a hope, contentment, and confidence you never had before. One of the many facets of the Holy Spirit is joy. How beautiful is the fact that when the character and nature of God are alive in a believer, there is no spiritual law that can be binding upon that person? When you are walking in the Spirit, you will not allow the flesh to dictate what you do! You are truly walking in the freedom Jesus promised you. Maybe you have questions like I did: So, what exactly is JOY? Where is its origin? What does it encompass? How is it expressed? How can I make it mine? You can find those answers and more as you delve into the following pages of this book and learn how to experience joy in your life. Why twenty-one chapters? Experts say it takes twenty-one days to form a new habit. By reading one chapter a day for the next twenty-one days, you will form a new opinion of the definition of the word joy based on the truth of God's Word. And, with that understanding, you will see your life from a new perspective and experience the essence of joy.

Book Insight Into Information

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Insight Into Information is based on sixty years of research on the Secret Messages and Hidden Maps Inside of Information. These several levels of subtle, subliminal and secret meanings provide reverberating, resonant echoes in all information much as the background music in movies but with more levels of meaning in these fields: science, religion, literature, entertainment, TV, advertising, technology and literally all fields of endeavor at home, at work, in school and at play. Many have already benefited from this information. The author, a retired clinical and rehabilitation psychologist, used this information in his private, clinical and consulting practice in schools and industry. This new, proven research shows: The helpful hidden hooks from which you can benefit. You will learn the inborn universal maps which influence and guide all of us in marvelous ways--including the name GOD on the human head and face. The harmful, deceptive hooks inside of words of which you are not aware but which can influence you. The word now is an example, as in buy now: Now is an anagram of won and own. These anagrams puzzle our brain and set up delays which advertisers want and to get you to participate in the anagram game. You will learn how to avoid such hidden hooks. Don't be cheated. Know these hidden hooks, control your choices and make well informed decisions. The Table of contents lists the chapters which describe the many ways you can benefit from knowing these hidden messages and secret maps in religion; health and healing; fun and entertainment; advertising; merchandising; education; communications; literature and the hidden influences inside of names. The Afterword at the end of the book tells the story of how the author became interested, did the research, used the research with patients and organizations, and wrote the book: the when, where, why and how of the origin of the information in this book.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: It is the glory of God to conceal a thing, but the honour of kings is to search out a matter. Proverbs 25:2 The Apocrypha The word "apocrypha" means hidden. The Apocrypha is a selection of books that were published in the original 1611 King James Bible and remained for 274 years until being removed in 1885 A.D. It still appears in some Bibles today. Fragments of Dead Sea Scrolls dating back to before 70 A.D. contained parts of the apocrypha books. It is interesting that part of the book of Esther is accepted into the modern Bible, but one must look to the Apocrypha to read the rest. Also, the Apocrypha contains the Prayer of Azariah; a lengthy passage that appears after Daniel 3:23 in Roman Catholic and Eastern Orthodox Bibles, as well as in the ancient Greek Septuagint translation. The Apocrypha was considered part of the Bible for nearly 2,000 years before it was recently removed a little more than a century ago. We may never learn why these books were deleted, but we can search them for historical hidden treasures. Book Of Enoch Enoch was the great grandfather of Noah and was so close to God, he never saw death and he is mentioned throughout the Bible. The book of Enoch, also found among the Dead Sea Scrolls, talks of a great many things including angels, giants, portals, the heavens, the sun, moon and stars and how they calculate the calendar, prophecy, dreams and there is much in the book about the foretelling of Jesus.

Book The Hidden Word

Download or read book The Hidden Word written by Jaison Ndlovu and published by Jaison Ndlovu. This book was released on 2024-08 with total page 0 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: "The Hidden Word: Exploring the Secrets of the Heart" by Jaison Ndlovu delves into the Bible's intricate complexity and profound depths, which are captivating. Crafted to be universally accessible and relatable, the Bible transcends temporal, geographical, cultural, and socio-economic boundaries. The concept of internalizing God's Word, as expressed in Psalm 119:11, finds additional clarity and meaning in the context of John 1:1-5. "The Hidden Word" delves deeper by exploring the term "In the Beginning" (Berēshîth) in John 1:1 and Genesis 1:1, with Berēshîth holding profound significance, representing God's eternal plan and divine blueprint for all existence, marking the start of the conflict between Christ and Satan, and setting the stage for redemption, serving as the foundation for the biblical narrative. This transcends human chronology, symbolizing the infinite and divine implications for Christian theology and interpretation. The author reminds us that while we're created in God's image, our essence remains distinct from His. We reflect His nature, but our being is not identical to His. Unlike human soul and life, the Logos and Holy Spirit can operate independently while maintaining perfect unity with God, allowing Them to be omnipresent and dwell in heaven simultaneously, as Jesus stated in John 3:13. The book also delves into the biblical concept of Psuche, Bios, and Zoe, revealing a profound tripartite structure of human nature, mirroring the divine Trinity. Satan didn't realize his defeat until Christ led Captivity captive from the lower parts of the earth. Only then did Satan comprehend the magnitude of his defeat. Hiding God's Word in our hearts (Psalm 119:11), is a deliberate act that demonstrates we have received Jesus Christ, empowering us to become sons of God.

Book excerpt: A new edition of a major philosophical work This remarkable text, first published in 1964, was a landmark of its era and remains, in the words of Michael Löwy, a work of “remarkable richness.” Drawing on Georg Lukács’ History and Class Consciousness, Lucien Goldmann applies the concept of “world visions” to flesh out the similarities between Pascal’s Pensées and Kant’s critical philosophy, contrasting them with the rationalism of Descartes and the empiricism of Hume. For Goldmann, a leading exponent of the most fruitful method of applying Marxist ideas to literary and philosophical problems, the “tragic vision” marked an important phase in the development of European thought, as it moved from rationalism and empiricism to the dialectical philosophy of Hegel, Marx and Lukàcs. Here he offers a general approach to the problems of philosophy, of literary criticism, and of the relationship between thought and action in human society.
